Dressrosa I could kinda get being long, because Doflamingo was being hyped for a very long time.

Fishman and Punk Hazard being back to back was the bigger issue for me, since both felt like they had less important greater scope villains. So it was nearly 2 years of waiting for stuff that matters to happen again.

I'm confused. Funimation has the streaming rights to the dub, and Amazon is selling digital copies of the episodes. How does that make Amazon out of touch?

Because they're selling individual episodes for about half the price you could get a subscription to funimation.

Maybe this is just a lack of personal experience and my immediate group to reference from, but I've never once heard of someone buying individual episodes of a show that could he streamed elsewhere. It would be one thing if it was an Amazon exclusive like that Psychic show I mentioned a week or so ago, but stuff like this? Only an absolute idiot would pay for these, or someone ignorant of their options in which case that's essentially them being tricked.

Plus, there are a fair number of people who aren't into streaming due to its impermanence. They prefer digital purchases since they won't get taken down from the streaming sites in a few years. Like digital volumes of manga were still a thing when you could just subscribe to CR for a month and read the entire series for the price of one volume, and now the whole series isn't available on CR anymore for, say, AoT or some of their other series.

Maybe this is again my ignorance, but I was under the impression that digital purchase licenses could still be revoked, and you still didn't technically own them, meaning it was no better than streaming.

If i'm wrong about that, then this is less moronic and more just a shit deal.

You don't technically own them in that you can't do whatever you want with them. For example, you often can't give them to other people. They generally can't be just taken away though.

Although I still don't see why I should "feel bad". Obviously some people missed it or didn't know it happened. Probably some different locations this time, too. I may have driven 3 hour to see Rebellion, but that's not exactly reasonable to ask.

People don't seem to realize this, but writing manga is a job. If your manga ends, you lose your job. Most mangaka are opposed to this, so they try to keep the series going as long as possible.

And before you say "Oda's so rich he'd never have to work lololol," a lot people, especially hardworking people, actually like having a job, so retiring young isn't a good option.

I am curious as to the level of action in this. I obviously would not mind there being a bunch of setup with little action, but my roomate might. I have heard mixed info as to how slow a start Heaven's Feel is, and the trailers I saw were very subdued.

Possibly. Especially since I use my phone landscape, and it had an unclosable (It had a little X, but pressing that did literally nothing) thing for their app that took up a significant part of the screen and scrolled with the page.

Yeah, but with the acclaim he has he could end OP literally whenever to do another manga. Anything he does next is likely to have lots of initial followers. I mean hes working on the best selling manga in the world right now so keeping it going forever is good for him and Jump, but moreso for Jump because losing OP would be a colossal blow to them

Almost everything he did after Dragon Ball were one-shots though....Jaco is probably the longest thing hes done since DB ended if I had to guess and it was also short and they threw the character into DB Super anyways.

Toriyama never intended to make another serialization like DB afaik
