They still control the Supreme Court and can lock that up for the next couple of decades if another justice needs replaced. The Senate inherently favors the GOP due to their popularity in rural areas. The gerrymandering in the House is strong enough that the Democrats probably won't be able to elect a strong majority until at least 2022 (and even that'll be tough).
