I figure if I'm hitting a cap on anything, it's on a mage, and if I somehow manage that it just gives me more flexibility to up my MP or add on some refresh. I don't have the TMRs to hit max on anything other than MAG, and I doubt I can even hit that. I should probably check, actually...

Also, I can't wait for spears to come around. I'm sure most of them won't be well tailored to GLS, but bumping up anything on Reaver is going to be oodles of fun.

And y'know, I just realized I might as well enhance Purple Lighting since I have CG Lasswell. Geez, I've got a ton of Item World ideas, and I don't even have half of the awesome gear most people do.

What is the best Wind Imperil unit to pair with A2 using Aigaion Arm? Just realized I've never even thought of this until now.

My main chainers and/or imperils currently are:
Fryevia (Ice imperil)
Tidus (Water imperil)
Veritas of Dark (Dark imperil)
Ace (Imperils Fire, Thunder, and Light) for units using things like Excalibur

My other chainers don't have need of it I think, like Trance Terra and Grim Lord Sakura since they are non-elemental, and I don't think I've had any need of Earth imperiling yet.

If it wasn't for Tri-Beam Laser +2 having such an amazing Imperil, I'd probably replace Ace with M.S.Nichol as well.

I'm just not sure how best to imperil for Thunder and Light for my Thundaja / Final Thunder Sakura casts and Excalibur chains. I still don't have a Wind imperil for A2 and Aigaion Arm either.

I might just give up on any chaining and imperiling other than Water and Ice since I can use Fry and Tidus and have them self imperil, and just use non-elemental damage spell casting. A2 being benched just cause I can't imperil elements for her seems pretty depressing though since she's the only unit I can break 1100 stat on.

Blood Moon is down! It's really nervewracking to realize you didn't notice your provoke tank getting snorted out after a threshold, especially since he was your backup revive for the off-chance your healer kicked the bucket. I miraculously survived the three turns, plus the turn needed for him to provoke, and managed to get back on track and end the fight. Might try and take down the Trio later, since I know this team will be able to handle it pretty easily. Only mission I missed was the one for Crazy Day, and I think I can live without that.

A2 being benched though, why? are you going fists only with her, not taking advantage of her ability to equip greatswords? the best imperial for wind - on somebody worthwhile anyway - is Barbariccia but it's on her LB.

Alright, time to make another TMR, and I need to decide which one. With 7* units sometime on the horizon, I'm breaking this up into two categories: Prep for future 7* units, and general use. I have no idea what units actually want their TMRs as 7* units, so I'm just putting in everything I'll be able to 7*

Future 7* Units:
Noctis: I already have two RoL, but a third could always be nice
Nyx: The materia itself is kind of meh, but the boosts he gets as a 7* are pretty decent I guess
Orlandeau: This is bottom of the barrel from what I understand, but again, I have no idea whether it's worth it or not. So here's the option.
Duke: My understanding is they changed the jump mechanics for 7*, letting you time it into a chain, but with a high chance of it breaking said chain, which makes him actually somewhat useful as a finisher. Bonus is his TMR is great for pretty much any spear-user, of which I have a few (himself, Aileen, Rebertas)
Reberta: I had taken my break right when her raid came around again, so I was stupid and didn't get her TMR. Bad, bad, bad.
Rem: She's my only 7* capable healer, so making her more awesome is never a bad thing.
CG Lid: Doesn't seem that great of a boost, but the TMR itself is kind of spiffy.

General use:
Sephiroth: I doubt I can get Sasuke's Katana in time to enhance it, so this is just to give me a second good katana to improve upon. I don't have any TDH or DH materia though, so those builds are out the window for me.
Seabreeze Dark Fina: Just to give my magic users more oomph, especially GLS.
Barbariccia: Magic killers are sickeningly useful.
Basch: Good shield? Good shield.
Merc Ramza: I dunno, I see this a lot as a good TMR I guess? I don't have hybrid units though, so it seems like kind of a waste.
BSSakura: More magic is good.
Shine: I have no Quick Assaults.
Crowe: I do have one Thirst for Survival.
Pirate Jake: I do have one Pirate Ring.

I think I'm mostly past the point where TMRs are gamebreaking for me. I'm noticing everything I've listed is mostly just going to be incremental improvements on gear or materia I already have, nothing that will give me something so amazingly solid that I have to have it. So I guess if I wind up doing nothing I'm okay with that, but I'd rather not just hold on to Moogles on the off-chance I pull something, because I'm unlikely to pull anything with a TMR that screams "Get me!"

I tried doing Switch Control farming but it was painful, sometimes just plain froze up, and still required my phone to be constantly active. I use A2, her main equips are Excalibur and Aigaion Arm. I use Ace for the Imperil. I could maybe use 9S for imperiling Wind and drop the Excalibur for Beastlord or something too.

However, I have fully enhanced Tidus and Fryevia, and they can self imperil, and I wouldn't need Ace for Light, freeing up the spot for MS Nichol if I so choose.

Without imperiling Wind, I am not sure if A2 is really capable of dishing out the same damage as Fryevia unless she is berserked, but I am no math guru, so I'm assuming Fry does more damage currently given her Magic Based Dual Wield with self imperiling ability. Using Nichol over Ace would also mean higher stat buffs over buffing with Ayaka, and frees up Ayaka's turn 1 for whatever I else I could squeeze out of her.

I'm not bashing A2 at all, but for generalized content clearing potential, I'm not sure if the better generic setup is something like:

Ayaka
Basch
A2
Ace / 9S
Flex DPS
Friend Whatever fits with the team.

-or-

Ayaka
Basch
Fryevia
MS Nichol
Flex DPS (likely magical, like Trance Terra)
Friend Fryevia

...right now Group 2 looks better, hence why benching A2 might be something to consider.

I can only field 5 of my own units, and I have tons of choices. I can't really use everything awesome.

Noctis sounds like the best call cause RoL is amazing( and you can then have any person get 2 rings for at least 50% dodge while still having another to boost your DPS), but Basch's TMR also sounds like a good call for a shield.

Otherwise, if you need mage stuff bad, SSD.Fina is a good call.

Nyx: His Rais on d'etre is to be the sacrificial goat for lb.
Orlandeau: Solid bump in damage. Only reason not to get his is if you already got Raegan/Lassworm/Sephiroth 7* candidates.
Duke: It's Duke. Better dragoons later.
Reberta: Unknown
Rem: Works, but it won't change much for her. Might get tweaks. (It's 30% spr/mag+ a modified vanilla Fina counter with esunaja. (?))
Sephiroth: Great as long as weapon 2# is elemental. TDH for him took off recently after enhancements.
Lid: More survivable, and guaranteed 4 stones per turn. It's useful.

SB Fina: Great choice since the better options are STMRs.
Barbariccia: Good choice if you need to shave off after capping.
Basch: Great shield. Comparable to Wilhelm+10% dodge. And thunder resistance.
MRamza: It is a middling tmr. You get what you use it for.
Shine: If you need that evasion since stronger atk% are getting introduced.
BSS:Very good if you need those numbers.
Crowe: Normally you don't run beyond 1-2 as is for us now.

Thanks Fiyun. I can always count on you to have amazing advice for this game. Okay, so that narrows it down to Sephiroth, Lid, Seabreeze Dark Fina as high contenders, and Basch, BSS, and Barb as solid contenders. The most mileage will probably come from Seph's Masamune just because it's so powerful, Barb because magic killers are insane, or BSS for more magic power. Maybe SBDFina just because it'll make GLS more crazy than she already is, as my best option is Siren's Robe. I just wish I had a second Seph or Barb, that'd make the choice a lot easier. And that GLS hadn't fallen in popularity; she's still my favorite, even if no one else loves. her. T^T

I guess I should ask if DW Sephiroth will still be a thing, or if I'm going to lose out on using him with friend units in the future because I have no DH or TDH accessories/materia. I've mostly been using him because he can chain with Orlandeau and provide some better support options, and he's just crazy strong as is, but if all I'd be getting out of him long term is a very strong katana, I might as well go with something that'll get me more mileage.

At least I now know that outside of maybe Lid and Orlandeau, there's no pressing need to get TMRs for my 7* units, so I can focus on just general use. Which really probably means magic, so Barb or BSS are probably my best bets if I don't go Masamune.

A third RoL isn't bad, but at that point you can go for other more pressing TMRs since Noctis himself got shafted in that regard.

Sephiroth should maintain a DW build until around Easter since he can't dual ability cast until that point. Unless e-peen idiots explode. He have no need for TDH until then unlike Hyoh, Akstar and maybe Fryevia. His use will be having a finger in several chains outside DR. So he will be sought after because of that. Not the strongest, but a versatile reliable one. Base modifier will match Orlandeau and Raegen since he won't need Masamune to activate it. (All get 680% at that point.)

Edit: Should point out it is 700% for him after enhancements. Plus 88% of the damage is backloaded like GL Sakura.

Well if nothing else I can still use him with a DW build with Orlandeau on my lonesome, and he won't be completely useless even if I never get the TMRs for it. So I think I'll go Masamune since it's going to be a pretty solid damage increase, especially after I spend a round in the castle enhancing it.

I suppose, but I find it quite annoying when I need to make a dodge tank that's not Basch or WoL and have to use both my Rings to get them to a full 100% dodge, hurting my DPS.

I stopped playing a few months back, a little after Sheratan released. I felt like I had hit a wall with content, because while I could get close on some of the harder stuff, I didn't quite have it in me to actually beat it. Blood Moon, for example, Sheratan, a couple others. And I'd put a lot into the game timewise, and decided that while I had thoroughly enjoyed it, I was getting bored and it was time to move on. As a result I missed a lot of events, and so my gear isn't as complete as it could be.

I still pulled despite not playing, but I never saved up for any banners specifically, so I just spent whatever tickets and lapis I had. I still got some pretty decent units along the way, so I'm not hurting as far as good teams go by any means. Part of why I came back is I was able to start taking on some of that content again without getting overwhelmed or bored. I may not stick around for long, I did the same thing with Puzzle and Dragons, feeling the fun of putting together new teams with units I hadn't ever used, clearing content I previously found too difficult, so for all I know I'll put the game down again because the next Mog King event will be so tedious I won't want to do it. But I'm having fun for now, and that's what matters.

So yeah...all that to say no, no I don't have the scarf. :P

Oh, and I also quit because the Season 2 story is awful. I actually don't know if the overall story itself is good, but the main character is Lasswell, and I abhor Lasswell. I was really stupid and watched one of the cutscenes somewhere in the current-ish story content, the one where Sol challenges Akstar to a fight. I almost cringed when the words "Master was about to give me a new name!" came out of Lasswell's mouth in protest of the interruption, said with complete and utter sincerity. I have seen whinier and more pathetic characters, but not by much.

Well it takes no energy, and a complete runthrough takes maybe 10 minutes tops. When I first saw it I was pretty blah about it too, but after doing even a couple of runs it's suddenly become a lot of fun for me. It's basically free powerups with no cost or risk, and even a relatively bad run still nets you a small boost.

I figured he was just dull for most of Season 1, but when we got to the tournament arc and he spent half of the continent waffling over whether he should feel good or bad about becoming stronger than Rain, I began to loathe any scene he was in. I'm wondering if this is just Gumi's translation and he wasn't nearly this much of a dweeb in the JP version, but there's no way for me to know. Oh well, at least as a unit he's halfway decent, even if he's really, really not that useful on any of my teams.

It depends on the weapons to me.
Like take what I got there - Sparky is something I already use, on a character I like using, who is getting a 7* form soon, had great enhancements, and synergies well with Ace. But before I got that monster bonus I had a +25% HP bonus on it due to two different boosts. And when I upgrade other weapons it'll be the same: HP Daggers will get High Tide. Bowie's Knife too, so it can give some people free LB boosts - looking at Noctis for that right now.

Purple Lightning will be enhanced because it's great on CG Laswell (and I can eventually 7* him). I believe axes also get the sexy +30% so when it's their time I'll be buffing Mercedes' axe.

I like it only because I like who I can improve with it. Olive was priority, I'm now breaking 1400 and she's not fully enhanced yet or with the absolute best materia or gear.

I too got my +30%Atk Sparky finally. Only came with +12% HP with it, but you take what you an get when you get a rare.

Also I've noticed my inventory is getting clogged with Trust Moogles. To the tune of 821% because I horde everything apparently. What are some top tier and/or under the radar TMRs I should bang out? I have a severe lack of Spr ones I've noticed.

Got a total of MAG +30%/MP +15% on Glory of Evil. I think that one's done! That's also two of the rare abilities I've gotten so far. Got the Seal on Murasame+ as well. It won't get used quite as often since I got Seph's TM, but I'll take what I can get for sure.

I use that for all my research purposes. A lot of them boil down to having a 100% evade provoke tank, a magic tank that has the appropriate element resistance buffed high enough to take all the damage even with the debuff the esper slaps on, and your usual damage dealers. I think the hardest ones to manage are Shiva, because of her AoE physical attacks, and Carbuncle if you don't go the slow/tedious route.

personally i've got 4 of 'em that i can pop (DF, Gil, Marie, Olive) but i'm most excited for cannon girl as i don't know what to expect. i'm assuming/hoping that she'll gain variance on Sparky by equipping it, the same way it was initially. the rest aren't that good but hey, DF gets to hit stupid hard for wind, earth, and dark elements; Gil i... don't really know what he's doing, his entry feels incomplete. looks like a Killers machine though? and while i know Marie's generally considered the crappiest of the 7* forms, she still has some utility as support, though i'm hoping they buff her to being more than "1 in 8 turns you survive anything."
