There's gotta be some kinda catch to those new dailies, probably the rates for uniques and gen 1 supers are way higher than stuff like glints and Legend Materia. At least we'll get more rosetta stones.

Also looks like Dena screwed up and the new torments aren't open for some reason despite closing the old ones. Delay the pain I suppose.

i don't know, why would they do that if they were gonna have a 3% 6* rate? unless you think that will also be weighted towards OSBs.

Like I said if you think if it terms of effective mythril value it's not really too absurd. It's probably effectively worth like 2-3 daily mythril considering how diluted the pools are. I could buy it being a completely honest draw with those rates the more I think about it. Game has always been fairly behind the curve with free draws compared to like Brave Exvius or Fire Emblem Heroes.

honestly i probably would say not even 2 mythril. lucky draw is 25 mythril, gives an average of 2.2 5*+. this gives 1/15th the number of 5*+ and i think slightly worse 6* ratio than a lucky draw. plus the chances of getting unique/shared/non-SB.

well that was one of the most unusual party setups i've ever used for fellstar diamond weapon. Tidus, Yuffie, Aeris, Yuna and Rosa. no buff, no entrust, i didn't even use damage RMs on Tidus and Yuffie; needed Ace Striker and Mako Might, respectively. probably using a third WM/summoner would have been best or maybe an entruster but it still worked out nicely this way - killed with Yuffie's AOSB at the end of the second chain use with just enough gauge and right at the end of the countdown with Tidus using an instant BSB just before it as well.

Yeah I kinda thought Fellstar Diamond was fairly easy to damage if you could reliably get his invincibility down so it makes sense you wouldn't run damage stuff. It was kinda trivial for me since I had dualcasting Yuna and Rydia (the former being able to knock down stacks while healing with her burst) but he seemed kinda squishy and I didn't even have a chain.

Well, DeNa screwed up again and most people can't actually see the Torments that were announced. But someone on Reddit discovered that they'll show up if you set your phone's timezone to Tokyo.

D240 is utterly trivial if you've been doing 4* magicite... I sub-15ed on my first try despite having my SBs set up wrong on Ovelia and using her default instead of her USB (which allowed Orlandu to die). Gonna do D280 now, I'm hopeful I can sub-30 that one.

Protip: bring hastega. First attempt at the D280 was a 35.46 due to getting my whole team slowed for 10 seconds. Second attempt I brought hastega and finished in 25s.

So I beat the 240. Great advice on bringing Haste. I have I got to 68 percent on 280. Started taking too much damage probably gonna need another record dived character to beat it or a FFT Healer.

So is there any benefit to clearing these early beyond getting the cool skills early or can we take our sweet time.

I got him to like 30% on 280. I think I can in theory beat it if I spam Hastega more, despite FFT actually being one of my weaker realms. He gets a little Ultimate Ague happy late which is pretty obnoxious. I'll give it another try later.

For the lower difficulties you can bring one or two off-realm characters. For the highest difficulty you need to have a full synergy team, you get severely punished for having off realm characters (you do something like -58% elemental damage for having a single off realm character)

Okay did 280 in 57.91 with the most ghetto FFT Team ever of Ovelia Ramza Alma Agrias Mustadio. Agrias being 80% of your DPS is good enough to beat 280 at least. Having Ovelia's LMR + Ultra is nice too. Ramza was just there to build chain with Earth Assault and entrust to Agrias (I have nothing for him except hail of stones). Mustadio was just for some weak breaks with his burst/magic breakdown and to build chain with the Flame Machinist 6 Hit. Alma was pretty much a hastega bot (literally nothing for her). I had her also using DeDia to bring down holy resist but yeah.

Doubt I can even get the 50% on the D??? though.

Even the D280 was harder than I expected. Slow is a real bitch. It took a few tries, but I got the sub 30 on D280, with TGC (OSB+USB), Meliadoul(BSB, but she entrusted to TGC), Ramza (Shout 2), Agrias(OSB) and Ovelia(SSB).

D??? On the other hand, I can't even come close to 50%. I might have done 30-ish% on my best attempt.

Man I wish Alma's USB was on Banner 1 tonight instead of Banner 2. I'd actually be tempted to draw from it.

But it's kinda weird cause I don't think any of the relics could really make me do any better on the Torment. Like Ramza USB2 might make me able to sub 50 the fight? I don't know. Like I feel like my FFT realm is basically the perfect amount of underpowered right now in that I got most of the rewards and would need to sink a lot into it to get much more.

The rewards for 40s and 50s are kinda minor compared to 1m and 30s, basically. I barely sub 30'd 240, and barely sub 60'd 280, which seems like the perfect place to be if you're not stomping the realm.

finished up all the other weapons today. Emerald just melted to Vivi + Ashe. the first eye didn't even come out until pretty late and it got maybe 1 turn before Ashe AOSB ended the fight. took a few tries until the dispel didn't screw me over early (since it's single target and blocked by magic blink).

Sapphire was pretty straightforward; as much as i hate dispel, it's not so bad when it's so easily forecasted (especially with Rikku and entruster). though i was surprised at how little damage Squall did. probably should have used +30% damage on him as i resorted to spamming his OSB late.

and Ultima. this is the one i was most worried about, not having Cloud USB, but Squall BSB, Vaan BSB, and Celes USB with two R3 flare strikes was just enough. Celes's last turn was a re-cast of her USB with no ability uses left, Rosa was out of Curada, Vaan was dead and i didn't have an entruster, so a couple less dual-casts and i think i would have died. coolest thing about that fight was how Ramza with BSB2+LMR just worked absolutely perfectly - use it instantly, full break, banishing strike immediately after it mighty guards, wrath cmnd x2, full break again, banishing strike AGAIN immediately after it mighty guards, and then just enough meter to USB into instant recast of the BSB.

now just Zeromus left. don't think i'm gonna bother with boundless, but i should probably be able to do the multiplayer one (and for once i'm probably gonna have to do it by myself). i was thinking about RWing Ramza's chain and using Orlandu/Marche, maybe Raines for imperil.

I was just thinking I wish Marche's we're on banner 1 (instead of Montblanc's). This torment definitely wants me to improve my Tactics team but these banners just don't have a good concentration of stuff that would actually help.

Anyway I'm way worse in other realms. I was counting on fest banner 2 to help me with V and that didn't happen.

Yeah. Snap reaction was to draw from Tactics but I think a better goal would be to set Tactics as a baseline to aim for for me. 170 currency isn't bad. That's really close to getting one of the 6* abilities and I should be able to make up the difference in realms I'm actually stacked in.

Compared to like FFV or FFXV or Type Zero and they're gonna be lucky to clear the 280 at all. Hell the 240 in the case of the latter two

Killed the D240 version in 18.11. Think I maaaay have a shot of sub30ing the D280. The ??? Difficulty, super unlikely.

I have Ramza use his BSB2, then C2 so he can entrust Orlandu quickly. Orlandu is hailstorming until USB, then spamming assault sabre until USB again. Marche and Agrias both lifesiphon, then Marche uses USB and agrias uses cleansing strike to make Queklain's damage more manageable. Alma uses her USB instantly, then uses ultra cure and hastega as needed.

Should hopefully work for D280 as well.

Got the D280 down to 5% left, but beforehand, ultimate bioga killed everyone, reraise brought them all back, but without haste and such. TGC used his USB but wasn't able to kill him before dying again.

Second try, killed Queklain in 25.39. Couple DC guardbringers from Marche, and DC/TC assault sabres from TGC (LD + USB after-effect) were definitely quite helpful to quickly burn through some phases. Only saw one AOE slow, and it was in the first phase and blocked by the astra from Alma's USB.

Got enough rubies, gotta decide which 6* ability to go for. Thoughts? Also, debating giving the D??? a try just to see how far I'll get.

If you use Bartz with his USBs the fire/earth one is the the most popular choice since he gets chases off both elements. The 5 hit fire one is good too but most folk will want Blast Strike for the 5* magicite Quetzalcoatl coming soon. The water/lighting one isn't very popular at the moment since Lightning can't use it and physical water is OP enough already.

Also you can wait for the *6 black magic abilities coming out next month in case you don't feel confident in sub 30ing the FF 5 and 12 torments.

It all depends on what you need - personally I think I'm saving to get the black magic ones first.

The fire one is the most powerful though and potentially relevant for both the V and VI Torments. The other two are more relevant for the first two 5* Magicite.

Seems like a bad burst unless maybe if you have his OSB to get Thundergod's Might. Is this accurate or are the extended delays actually balanced to the damage unlike... most things that have that mechanic in the game.

Wasn't chomping at the bit to use Orlandu anyway but it is kind of a bummer to get a 100 Gem "jackpot" for it to be worthless. Even moreso than a 3* in some ways.

Ahh, for the days of pulverizing Torment 250s with Orlandu OSB -> RW Cloud USB -> double Orlandu BSB...

Orlandu's BSB commands are 4 x 1.0x Holy/Non with minor Atk/Def debuff and 2 x 2.0x Dark/Non with HP drain. So, if you have a way of dealing with the charge time, that Cmd1 can compete with Guardbringer and Assault Saber. If you don't, it can't. I would say they're balanced to the damage, but you have to remember that BSB commands aren't supposed to outperform 5* abilities.

If you do find yourself deploying BSB-only Orlandu, consider running Lifesiphon/Powerchain.

Don't let the time fool you though, this fight is still godawful and many things can go wrong and screw up my run. In fact getting too many dual/triple casts can actually fuck you over if you get Hades to 50% dispel before Onion Knight has a bar for his soul breaks leaving you a sitting duck. Had to sacrifice my Level 99 Sylph for fast act inheritance on Evare since I don't have the arcana or time to get a Midgarsormr to level 99, but it was worth it now that I got all 8 4* magicite sub30'd.

i noticed my dex motes were the lowest, can't farm ice/dark/holy/lightning orbs, and mote dungeons still half off. so been farming dex motes. after honing my tactics a bit i managed to get it down to 3.39 seconds. starting with an instant Ramza USB, then doing the damage with Orlandu+Lightning+Kain OSBs, Ashe's USB, and then a double-casted thundering quadstrike by Orlandu (12 or 13% chance, i can't remember which). could make it guaranteed by diving Lightning but probably not worth it yet with just glint and OSB.

bleh. they skipped the SSB selects AGAIN. thought we might actually get them this time because of the timing differences between events - JP got their first after the fest we just had. but nope. no record dungeon lucky either, so i figured i'd give the FFT banner a shot, being the only one i'm even close to beating. got 1/11 Agrias BSB, which should help a bit, at least.

Ixion seemed pretty weak to me, yeah. i got 31s my first time and there's several ways i could improve that - Shelke, earth saber, 4* earth magicite and any sort of earth boosting gear.

or if they would give us the SSB selection draw, using Edge instead of a healer would also help dps a bit.
