I think the reason why the Maria/Rosa relationship is so uncomfortable is that it's actually a pretty decent depiction of abuse. You can see it in Rosa too, how her upbringing and relationship with her siblings (particularly Eva) causes her to act out.

Too bad Rudolf was one of the first to be killed again! At least this time it was a "fun" Halloween-themed death scene instead of having your head crushed and body thrown into a storage shed. Interesting that Kinzo had a little scene showing he was still alive. I wonder if he will have a more active part this time?

I also really liked Beatrices antagonizing of battler, that the reason why these deaths occurred this way is so that their faces are shown to get rid of the idea of fake bodies.

Beatrice and Battler's debates are more interesting now with the red text, because like they said without this Battler could endlessly doubt anything she said. Though it does seem a little odd to just Beatrice at her word that she is telling the truth, I guess you have to accept she is playing by some kind of rules.

Also debating about the door feels weird when we've just bore witness to a psychic sword fight with a demon, which would seem to be somewhat more solid proof that magic is real.

That whole sequence with Battler and Beatrice was pretty awesome. That's what I wanted to see more of in this episode.
