I know when DSP had $450 in anonymous tips taken away due to credit card fraud this tutankhamunnn guy was a suspect since he had donated all the bits just a day or two before. But he's tipped hundreds of dollars since then, and DSP hasn't said anything about more money being charged back (and he would absolutely say something if his money was taken away).

His subs pretty much doubled last night. And people in his chat were pointing out that he didn't seem much more excited than usual. I could see some streamers being absolutely floored by that kind of generosity, maybe even pausing their stream to show how appreciative they were. But not DSP. A couple people in his chat hinted that maybe he should extend his stream because of the subs and all the excitement going on. Nope, he turned the game off right on the hour. And this is the guy who constantly complains about money and wants to grow his Twitch channel so that one day he can stop relying on YouTube.

If he rearranged things he could stream less without it have much of an effect on his income. Obviously he could cut out the lengthy prestream. But he could also switch over to only doing one stream a day. The night streams often have low attendance (and low donations) and are reserved for games that his fans aren't as interested in, so there are nights when it's almost not worth doing them--just do a slightly longer main stream.

DSP is a prime example of how YouTube's model changed over time.
I remember his earlier videos; he was just a bored dude with a camera who recorded himself playing games and making fun of them for shits and giggles as a hobby.
Now this is livelihood that he's trying to make into this expansive business and every other video is him begging his fans for money.

I just miss it when he was just some asshole playing games for fun and talking shit with his friends.

In his early stuff, he comes across as someone who hasn't quite grown out of his teens even though he was in his mid twenties by that point. And there was a charm to that. Whether you like his humor or not, it's clear that he's doing something he loves, and I think that genuine enthusiasm attracted people to his channel.

The enthusiasm and charm are long gone now. He talks about wanting to grow his Twitch channel and attract new viewers, but who wants to watch a 36 year old streamer who seems bored most of the time and can't stop talking about his money problems?
