Locke OSB

Lots of Discos on this RoP (that's my 6th!), but they have mostly been mediocre. OSBs don't really help much in this day and age.

Not sure what I'll do with the fest banners. The problem is the JP banners all had dupe or bad 6*s, along with crappy BSBs.

I wish I had more mythril. I think I probably will only pull on the earth banner, so it's nice they moved it to the beginning. (I think I will have 3 pulls after ROP and luckies... I think I'm only going to do the USB lucky and not the other two).

Fest banners are out.
They're... kinda bad, actually. I feel the VIII banners are objectively better than these.
4 BSBs per banner, with some relics that are 2+ years old.

banner 1 removed Tifa entirely so now i don't like a single character here, which lowers the appeal a lot. magic earth is my biggest weakness but only one of the BSBs is magic earth so there's not even great odds to improve there.

banner 2 still has some appeal but nothing compared to the Cloud+Zack+Aeris banner last time

banner 3 is still okay with Tidus being preferred over Bartz, though overall fewer good relics since we're losing both Bartz glint and AOSB for just Tidus AOSB in return.

banner 4 would be tempting if i didn't just pull Seph's USB2

banner 5 with two gen 2 CSBs, an AOSB, and the best BSB in the game makes this probably the best one. the least powercreeped by JP's AASBs. though i wish it was Shantotto's LMR1.

Nuts they swapped Tifa/Ingis BSB2 on banner 1, for two BSBs I already have. Ugh I hope things don't go bad like last fest where I did 7 draws and kept getting the dupes I dreaded getting. And I was also looking forward to Tifa's LM since I got her AOSB in the last Lucky draw.

At least Larsa's USB is still there, I was getting the hunch that was gonna get swapped

I was hoping they'd drop Larsa USB. I don't have it, but I just find the package so underwhelming.
Regen and Esuna are not great effects. Astra is fine, but I'd generally prefer Quickcast, instant cast, guts, or some other effects over the other two.

I don't mind the ensura either since status effects are a big problem in some fights especially with bosses that like to use multiple status effects to eat Astra and then use sleep or confuse. Obviously he's not Elara or Aerith good but when he has his niche fights he does it with flying colors.

I kind of just realized we're going to need water magic teams in 2 months and I have basically nothing. It doesn't even seem like there's a good banner to draw on... the current VI event has Strago's chain but the rest of the banner seems super sub-par. Fest banner 3 has Rydia's USB2 but the rest is ice or physical water. Even the next fest doesn't have much, just an Ice/Water USB and ASB for Lulu.

if nothing else, the fest after that has Tidus AASB, which should be good enough to power through the 1/3 damage modifier

and this fest has Maria and OK USBs, and i know both Vivi/Palom USBs will return in the next couple months. those are probably the best SBs for doing magic water damage.

The Magicite boss isn't going anywhere so you don't need to fight him unless you're desperate to beat the ice Magicite asap (even then Phoenix should be enough.) I have Strago's chain but I'm probably going to wait until the FF1 banner for Meia stuff (you pretty much have to pull on that banner anyway for the torment, unless you have a good enough Garland, WoL and Sarah to carry the fight )

Galuf USB1. It's basically Vessel of Fate plus self en-earth so I think it'll be useful in the torment. I didn't have good buff/haste options there before... I tried using Sheepsong and I used the hastega ability but they didn't cut it in d???

my 6th disco and 4th USB from this realms on parade but the first one i'm actually excited to get. this is actually my very first relic for him and he's my favorite FFV character and second-favorite fire-focused character (at least until Squall gets fire) so that's pretty cool.

With my new Galuf USB I was able to get to 57% on Torment Gilgamesh and claim the completion bonus so that was nice. I'm still a long way from actually killing any of the torment bosses but I do feel like I'm making progress. I like how spending rubies and motes helps you get farther so you can earn more rubies and motes. I also kinda like the cobbling together your realm team aspect of it to try to cover whatever relic weaknesses you have, even if ultimately you're going to need to get more relics to kill the boss.

Yeah I still need to try D??? VI. I think I can probably do it actually running Edgar Sabin Setzer Mog Relm-- especially after getting that Setzer USB.

But I wanted to get some resist lightning magicite from the 4* earth which is why it's been taking a while. That's not a fun fight for me. I actually just smash through it with my fire team since my wind team is so bad and it takes around 35-45s so it's a bit of a grind.

That's 6 months away though. The Japanese fest almost always looks way better than ours, but how much fun is it to save over 6 months without doing any draws?

It helps that I am not interested in most of those characters that are getting the super strong soul breaks on that fest. Terra is gross. Zidane is gross. Bartz is fine but eh. Will prob draw on the banner 1 for Tidus + Vanille and that's it. Probably will be interested in a lot of the upcoming JP event banners though. Really glad FF2 is getting one just after the power creep wall.

Will probably mostly skip next fest though. Not a lot of mileage to be had on it, really, just a bunch side elements characters are bridging into. Though Rydia does bridge into earth which is tempting as my earth isn't great.

It will be easy to skip a few months of banners because of the 12+off banner system they're going to switch to which whales in Japan boycotted and Dena went back to the regular banner pool. For the most part it's really only going to be worth drawing on 11, 14 and 1 because they're very rare realms and they're currently way behind for neo torments.

Banner 3 on Fourth Anniversary seems like a safe bet for me since almost everything there is new and Terra + Bartz awakening relics covers both physical and mage.

I also 100-gemmed Barret's LMR. I have pulled enough Barret relics in my FFRK life, that this doesn't even annoy me. Sure, I would have preferred Zack chain or Yuffie USB, but if I ever want to use Barret, I have no problem equipping him with a gunarm.
