I think it is one of the ugliest games I've ever seen, although I guess that could be intentional

Some people dont care too much about graphics, I still play the original diablo even sometimes, its still fun

And honestly I prefer the sprites of D2 compared to the 3d models of D3

I first played Diablo in Windows 95 on a 100MHz Pentium system. Blew my mind at the time. Even played online and was taught the duplication trick by another player. Fun times, but CraptiBlizz is cancer, and any Diablo after II simply doesn't exist in my mental space.

I always found the original Diablo a bit too slow gameplay wise. Your character just moves like he is in molasses, yet the fighting seems to be speed up to 200%, it is really weird.

D2 they fixed that and the game just feels a lot more fluid. I actually liked Diablo 3, but I agree it looked a bit weird with the 3D models. It just had that weird Blizzard 3D art style that I have hated since Warcraft 3.

Also to add, I loved that Blizzard games always worked well on mid-low range PCs. Growing up, it was great that my 5 year old PC at the time could play Diablo on launch day with absolutely no compatibility issues. That used to be a huge problem back in the 90's, but not with Blizzard.

I think d3 killed any nostalgia I had for the diablo series, its a shame how badly overboard they went with preventing trading because people got mad about the rmah. Which is especially stupid because there were tons of people who bought and sold items for cash on d2 and once blizz tries to get a cut of the action, everyone bitches.

People bitched because when the game launched it was entirely built around using the auction house instead of finding loot

After level 15 or so I never used a single piece of gear that I found from playing the game. Was not fun

I don't know that too many people were complaining about Blizzard taking a slice of the pie; the issue was that they completely designed the game around the RMAH to a ridiculous extent. It affected everything from loot drop rates to matchmaking, where the game would deliberately try to pair you with someone who had an awesome piece of gear that you could use in the hopes that you would run along to the auction house and buy one.

Given that there's been a black market for digital items in online games for yonks' years, I have no problem with Blizzard legitimizing it and bringing it in house and also taking a share of the profits - but that shouldn't come at the expense of game design, and it clearly did with D3. This is exactly why lootboxes are so shitty and why everyone hates them.

I always felt that was a bit overblown. I had a character from each class and if I found a cool piece of loot that I couldn't use I would just put it in my shared inventory and use it with another character. I never touched the auction house once (RM or In Game Currency) and still managed to get through Inferno difficulty with all 5 character classes before they changed the drop rates and nerfed the difficulty level.

No, you didnt

Uh, yea, I did. Why would I lie about that? Makes zero sense since I don't even consider it a favorite of mine (haven't played it since 2013).

Nah, trade in value on those is crap nowadays. Plus the only way to get those is to make some racist comment and have Trump re-tweet it.

I've liked some diablo clones, and diablo 3 was ok, but I've never really liked the original diablo, either

Dungeon Siege 1 and Darkstone are both really good clones (they're not fantastic or anything, and they're hard to get into, but there's some definite and unique value in both of them).

I've never played a single Diablo game but do recall some folk being really into it back at school when they was PC gaming. That and of course Doom. Still I've been somewhat interested in picking up the Eternal collection of Diablo 3 until I saw that not all content was actually as disc as the box claimed.

Most anticipated game of all time for me was Diablo 3.

It was also the most dissapointed i have ever been in a game by a long shot.

D2 was amazing, incredible and if it hadn't been for Phantasy Star Online it would have been even more insane (it was already a massive upgrade in pretty much every way).

D3 at launch...sigh...even now to a large extent. It killed so many of the good parts of d2, it was SO freaking easy (and still is as you run a character up) that it puts you to sleep. There is no real character customization (less at launch if you used the auction house at all since you didn't even need to watch for item drops etc).

Removing the RMAH (which I didn't use anyway), certainly didn't fix anything for me.

They basically World of Warcrafted D2...made it simple, took out the only reason I every played D2 over again more then once for each class (I made hundreds of builds in D2 over the years), and even years later with 2 expansions and plenty of updates etc, I would buy a new version of D2 on a portable system over D3 in a heartbeat ( even if it cost more for d2).

At this point though I'm starting to think the point and click interface is dying..and would like to see a real Phantasy Star Online MMO....after they make a good anime for it, and then make the MMO kinda like Sword Art Online (yup...with VR as well, at least the head sets, but would be awesome for real control of swords, and spell casting by making shapes etc). Phantasy Star Online was really the first game of that type, it was awesome (amazing) and I would LOVE to see it be the first VR MMO . It would be so fitting.
