I got a few chuckles out of the self-aware video game humor, and Mamako is absolutely precious...





...but yeah, it was kind of mediocre. I'll give it three episodes since they plan on introducing more girls pretty soon, but it's not off to a good start.

Finished up Fairy Gone. Good shit. Kickass fighting, kickass art, and a fucking badass soundtrack. Shit was great. Story was hard to follow tho. But all in all excellent shit. Would recommend for the soundtrack alone.

Soundtrack is a small part of the quality of an anime.

I never watched it so I can't comment at all. I just love it when people have opinions that are counter to the anime community, especially if they love something that was seen as not amazing.

Like I said, the story was kind of hard to follow I think, that's really the only bad thing I have to say about it. The presentation of the show very much made up for it. If you got a minute, I recommend at the very least checking it out.

I like it when people can find enjoyment in anime that are not rated super high by the community, at least the MAL community. Fairy Gone is rated at an average of 6.02/10 for example.

did anyone else here actually watch the final two marchen madchen episodes? they actually looked... pretty good again. Like not super amazing but at least the same sort of animation quality as the early eps of the show before everything got all garbage

the story on the other hand made some bizarro twist out of nowhere and was basically nothing like any of the rest of the show though, it was kind of dumb

Production problems out the ass. Marchen Madchen was a dumpster fire of shitty QUALITY and rushed animation. It was so bad that episode 9 was delayed two weeks, then somehow came out even worse than the previous one, and then episodes 11-12 just never aired. They weren't released until the final BD release, more than a year after the anime began airing. It's the most painful animation meltdown that I've ever seen in an anime.

the tournament arc was kinda messy sure but the first arc was a pretty nice story about discovering your true passions, refusing to be bound by history/tradition, and choosing to be the master of your own fate

eps 11-12 brought this theme back again with another character but the set up to it that time was sort of rushed and it didn't feel nearly as satisfying

But I haven't laughed once, and for a comedy anime that you guys said was supposed to be hilarious, that's not a good sign at all.

Maybe I'm somehow missing something important that makes the jokes funny? Maybe it's just not my kind of humor? I really don't know.

the first time i watched cromartie i also didnt find it funny. i was just sorta confused and kinda bored. that was back in like middle/high school tho. i gotta rewatch it someday and see if i have the same reaction.

Woah. When it was recommended to me I had never heard of it. It only took a few episodes for me to consider it one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I'll give it until the halfway mark at episode 13, and if it still hasn't made me laugh at all, I'm dropping it. Thankfully the episodes are short.

Watched the two eps of Dr. Stoned. Shit is kind of wild man. Protag has a real case of anime hair. He's also kind of an asshole. But seems like a p cool dude.

Also in ep two, they literally woke up a Pillar Man. Dude is the spitting image of Kars.

Kind of like what they're doing so far. This one might be worth keeping up with.

My man, you really should. Rose Guns Days is so good. So goddamn good. Rose Guns Days is the best story he's done.

Plus it's hella shorter than the rest of his stories. So it's less of a time investment.

Stick with it I think. IIRC the first bits are weird but it gets funnier further along. Reading/watching/playing yanki stuff beforehand helps too

If a comedy show hasn't made you laugh in *three* episodes that's clearly a mismatch, TBH. Thirteen is just overkill. Like, if you can think back on a show and actually struggle to remember a single time where you smiled or laugh...then that should say a lot on how you feel, IMO.
