I got Ingus's damage reflect BSB with anima lens in preparation for Odin, hopefully I don't regret it (would be nice to have Red XIII's chain instead since I have his USB2 with radiant shield but the chain lucky draw probably won't be out for a while)

Gotta say having a Adamantoise with 2 magic boons is pretty handy for Ark, that extra defense helps quite a bit to shrug off pular waves and dark cannons, regenera now overwrites that damage and helps make the Doomsdays more survivable so I only have to use Elara's BSB once now for Savage Doomsday. I got 3 more and now I have a healing Madeen with Heal Boon+15 and Mind+20 inherited.

Who's ready for Dark Odin dropping tonight? Which element are you going to try?

I'm going to start with Wind because it sounds like you want more than one character who can break the damage cap, and I have Cloud (USB1 + BSB2 + AOSB) and Bartz (Awakening + BSB) and Zack (Chain + BSB). Depending how that goes I might also try earth where I have Galuf (Chain2.0 + other stuff), Bartz, and Cinque, or possibly a mixed team for fire where I have Terra's Awakening (but just Locke for chaining).

I'm gonna try with a mixed earth team (Terra, OK, Ingus, Elara and either Tyro or Red XIII) Really Hodgepodge but other than that I don't think I can beat him. (If I had a Fire chain though)

Hearing that Dark Odin is coming tonight makes me really think about trying 5* magicite. I got my first torment D??? win, so progress is being made in general

I haven't really been keeping up with the meta, but would there really be anyone who can take on Dark Odin that are outside of like the Top 1% of players out there?

If he's suppose to be THE hardest content in the game at this moment, I wouldn't expect a whole lot of people being able to come close to beating him.

The most common early wins are through the electric one using Bartz and Orlandeau Awakenings with Galuf chain, which is pretty reasonable. Unfortunately Galuf chain keeps evading me and I didn't get Bartz Awakening after 6 pulls on the debut banner.

Sephiroth moves to banner 5, but no mention of Zidane's awakening at all. He was on banner 5 in Japan. I hope that doesn't mean he was removed, that would really suck. If he's on 3 in place of Seph I'd be happy with that.

Didn't do too hot on Odin using wind. My main problems are
1. Staying alive - especially on his turns 11-14 when he does four AOE attacks in a row.
2. Breaking savage mode (his earth form has the highest damage reduction in savage mode, so if you fail to break it quickly it gets harder and harder with each savage level increase)
3. Filling enough SB bar on Cloud and Bartz to get going

I might try out one or two other elements later.

I'm not sure when I have the time to make an attempt at Odin, but I'll try the fire-weak one first. If I can't do it with Bartz AASB, Terra AASB, and Vincent's chain, then I have to accept that he's just too much for me atm.

The biggest hurdle against Odin for me is breaking the rages (Terra can only do so much with 15 seconds of awakening and a max chain) and the de-ethers, that's BS that a boss with 3 million HP does that.

Guess there's nothing I can do now but wait and build up some more magicite for other elements in the meantime till fest in hopes of getting more Awakenings and gen 2 chains.

I also used the artifact stone from the 12 event to get the earth mage dagger for Odin... I'm all out till the FF4 event this week.

I tried using Earth against Odin and didn't come anywhere close, so I think I'll put it aside until after fest. Hopefully I'll have better tools then.

Seph on Agrias/Celes awakening banner is an upgrade for me but I feel like I'm one of the few.

Glad Rydia's awakening banner is first so if I get it easily (yeah right!) I can actually put some draws on the Seph one.

Cloud/Noctis/Squall is where Im looking. Mainly for Cloud and Squall.

So Im looking at taking down Madeen. I got the dark magic dagger for Seph (AASB/USB2), Golbez dark chain, Raines BSB/OSB, then likely OK mUSB and Elarra. Would that work? Not having Shelke would feel weird, as Im used to giving my primary DPS the much more damage with element RM and entrusting a bar to them right away.

Awesome. In terms of turn order, when do you pop Golbez (Seymour in your case) chain? Also, best RM for Seph, gathering storm or much more dark damage? I assume I should pick up Necro Countdown as well (got 220 rubies, and have Demon's Cross).

Actually I use Garland chain, Seymour is my main DPS with his rank chase.

I put damage boosts on Seymour and Raines, Ace striker on Garland and Mako Might on OK and Elara, I have Elara use Allegro to speed up magic which the 3 DPS characters attack quicker to build meter for their soul breaks.

Seymour use Ultima Weapon/dire Heal, Raines Dark Zone then BSB command 1, and Garland uses Mark of Darkness. Raines and Garland both have memento Mori.

I'm really frustrated with the ???? Torments. I am doing FFVIII in 25 seconds and I'm not even getting to the 10% line in the ???? level.

As in you're sub30ing it but not getting any rewards? If it's a bug, emailing support and putting a screenshot of the screen showing the time should get that dealt with.

Ohhh yeah that makes more sense. And yeah, I totally hear you. I finally got my first win on FFT D??? and that was with Ramza holy chain, plus TGC/Marche/Agrias USBs. And it still took a bunch of trial and error at the end, trying to heal through the last onslaught. Died between 93-98% like, 4 times, before finally killing him in 41 seconds.

The big difference between 280 and ??? is the requirements to do substantial damage are way the hell higher. So yeah it's not too weird to sub 30 a 280 and hardly scratch a ???. If you were just barely capping with 9999s you're gonna have a hard time.

Not bad, it was my most wanted chain until recently but then I beat Adamantoise without it (and I was targetting banner 1 with a chance to pick up Fujin's chain in fest). I might have to reconsider and put more of my pulls towards banner 2 and 5 (depending what replaces Sephiroth on 2, hopefully it's Zidane)

Alphi's chain got me sub 30 against Adamantoise (27.72). My previous best was 41.x but out of my three kills the other two were both over 50, so that's a pretty big improvement. The only change cutting Zack for Vivi and having him doublecasting tornado (the 5* ability... getting the 6* and getting a wind+ weapon for him would be easy upgrades but it seems like I don't need it).

Yeah Terra murders Wrexsoul.

Though I'm still too scared to go at D??? in that one, even though I have Relm USB, Terra awakening, Locke USB1, 2, and AOSB, Shadow USB, and Celes USB.

Wrexsoul is the easiest D???, so it wouldn't hurt to try. It would help a lot if you have a Lakshmi Magicite for Astra since he uses sleep, and she benefits from the realm chain.

I dunno if I would call him the easiest D??? (Cuchilainn or Gerogero seem easier) but if you have Terra's awakening you can take him apart. It's the only one I've gotten sub 30 on.

I don't think I 've seen anyone call GeroGero the easiest, besides people who whale on FFVIII banners. The status effects seem like they'd be more of a problem than what Wrexsoul can do.

Pulled on the FFVII rop in hopes of a fire chain, Got Tifa LM, the attack rising one. Dunno if this is any good.

Gerogero was the easiest D280 by far for me and I hardly do much on FFVIII banners so I could see it.

For me at least, Wrexsoul's second sleep was more dangerous than anything Gerogero throws at you... it was just run ending, until I got enough damage with Terra's awakening to blow past the phase before he uses it.

I never really found Wrexoul's sleep that bad, just attack the person sleeping with Relm (unless you're using her burst) much better than being blinded or silenced IMO. Besides it's not Wrexsoul does much damage anyway that the healing is crucial.

Haven't fought GeroGero since he launched but I remember him being kinda annoying, not super hard or anything but annoying.

Tsk! Even with Seifer's chain I still can't sub30 Madeen... I was doing even worse than Garland for a while but I then I realized it was because the 50% attack buff was making Seifer's Mark of Darkness physical, even with the assassin's dagger. I made Seifer use memento mori and Dark Zone now and am averaging about 37 seconds now, so at least I don't have to refresh wall and OK mUSB now.

Looks I'll probably have to get those last 3 Deathgazes and maybe Seifer's dualcast LM to get that sub30.
