Yeah the number of options is pretty overwhelming. I think I'm going to grab Kain's LM as my first LM because I have his chain and awakening, and +20% spear damage seems like a pretty good upgrade from +10% lightning damage (especially for someone with a double cap break awakening).

Are there any SSBs that are really worth considering as actual tools rather than just stat bonuses? I already have Edge and Raijin's. Someone mentioned Laguna's ice imperil SSB which makes sense since I have his chain and nothing else for him to spend his bar on.

Most of the good SSBs are mostly torment tools IE Strago's super is really good as a slot saver with resistance boost but I never use it anyplace else.

I have 3 artifact stones left, and I'm conflicted what to use them on, I also got the holy boost mind dagger earlier today. I'm thinking the earth boosting mage dagger since Lightning Odin is apparently the easiest one, and Terra with Meltdowns and OK with USB3 might be able to do it, but I only have Ignis' chain which might be the weak link that prevents me from beating him.

Also considering the lightning boosting gun for Prompto but I think I'd rather wait until the 6* lightning imperil machinist ability is out first (and Celerity if I get Noctis Awakening)

I'm kinda thinking of getting the Holy Staff or Rod instead of the dagger cause they have like, RMs I might use once in a great while.

Feel like I'd never use the holy dagger on a buffer like Rikku since I already have a +30 Augment Rem Dagger for that so not seeing a real upside to getting the dagger.

Most people want the Holy Mind Dagger because some Odin and 6* magicites can deal 8000+ damage frequently so having your healer with mind as high as possible is pretty crucial, unless you want to constantly entrust a last stander to stay alive.

Gonna skip FF14 for now, especially if that chain lucky draw is coming soon. Only thing I really want is Alph chain but like outside of Y'shtola/Alph USB2, Papalymo's AOSB and Trancred's dualcast everything else is a dupe or garbage.

I get why you'd want a big MND boost item

I'm just saying Rod or Staff seems marginally better, maybe. Pretty much all healers you're going to use can use them and they have some potentially useful RMs. You're not gonna need a dagger with 300 MND on your rando buffer which is the only one who isn't gonna be able to use the staff or rod.

These fights do drag on with 3 million HP so having higher mind so haste lasts longer helps (that said I never see characters like Rikku or Sazh on Odin/6* magicite videos, some Odin and Ramuh use all piercing attacks so Fabula Raid is the most popular choice)

I doubt anyone uses rod/staff boosting RM anyway in the Odin/6* level anyway, healers are more focused on meter gain and you're already healing near or at max with Lakshmi and mind+ 20s.

Yeah I mean, it's iffy either way. It's just kinda like... which use case is more marginal? Having the option to have a huge mind for a buffer or having the option for bonus healing RM. I'm thinking it's actually the former in that you might be able to do some cheeky stuff with like the unreleased heal all dance ability, to name one option, if you really stack that healing bonus high. But who knows.

Ultimately I think I'm going with the Dagger

If for no other reason Lilisette is looking to possibly be my main healer in FFXI affairs with that new dance ability and her chases and she can't use rods or staves.

If you want a bonus healing RM, wouldn't you want one of the "increase healing" RMs, not "increase MND when equipping a ____"?

The option of being able to be equipped by anyone is widely agreed to be the better benefit, also you have to consider that characters with higher mind get out of stop and paralyze quicker as well.

I'm also watching Odin videos and I'm seeing this Aerith heal 9999 with curada and 8000+ with her USB2 with Lionheart RM equipped, even without a Lakshmi/Heal Boon.

It's widely agreed on. I'm just wondering how much people are thinking. If you're never gonna slot it on someone who can't use a rod or staff it's not an actual benefit.

I mean I'm considering Lilisette, a character basically no one uses, of all characters for this. Realistically you'd never put it on a Rikku or Sazh over your actual main healer, and p much all main healers have rod/staff access

If I didn't have Lilisette to consider I'd prob go with the staff

But I just listed other benefits besides healing- haste extension and stop/paralyze reduction. Even if the character isn't doing damage or healing they can still benefit, why else do you think that Tyro was using a mind dagger artifact?

Also I forgot Pecil can't use Rod/staves but has a dual holy Awakening, so if you want to make him a white mage he's gonna need the dagger.

Reeeeeally shouldnt do the FF VII lucky, I have too many of the top prizes, but Aeris USB2, Cloud glint/LMR and Seph LMR would all be very useful. Especially aeris, for the Jenova torment.

Neither of which you're likely to prioritize over giving your healer the best healing item and giving those characters the best damage item. It's all theorycraft that's unlikely to be realistically applicable. I think people are overthinking it (or maybe underthinking it, really) in that way. It's functionally very unlikely versatility.

Clearly you have not fought Ark yet because he loves to spam Pulsar Wave which, dun, dun duuunn- stops. It's why Raines has to be slot 3, and I also equip Alma's USB staff on Hope to lessen the stops (don't really need the extra magic anymore since Lunar Dragon is out anyway.) Even with OK being an entrustbot he still needs a mind boosting weapon to shake off stops.

Ramuh also loves to paralyze as well, even in the Tyro USB4 heavy meta Mages have the advantage on him.

Alright, finally killed Infernal Ugallu. Took me 30.48 and I thought there were time bonuses, so it's a relief to see there weren't. I used a dark magic team with Raines as my main DPS (with his dualcast USB), Nabaat for imperil and support, Vanille for slot saving (Convalescence) and dispel, and then Golbez for Chain/Radiant Shield/DPS and Elarra for healing and dancing.

did an extremely ill-advised pull on VII lucky given my huge number of dupes and was rewarded with Cloud AOSB. finally! i guess technically i should have waited for RoP because that was my biggest want and i could get it there, but whatever. i do still need his glint, hopefully i'll get the 6* one from the fest itself.

Congrats! That banner is dupe city for me (9/14, including 4/7 six * items) so it's pretty easy to skip. I'm still being tempted by the Terra banner though.

Oh hey, took down Adamantoise. I guess I didn't need Terra's wind toys after all, just grabbing the wind rod artifact and tweaking my team composition was enough. That was my last 5* magicite, almost ready for Odin, just need to pick up some more Awakenings in fest. Maaaybe I have enough tools for a day 1 clear with a Cloud/Zack/Bartz team, we'll see.

Lucky bastard, Ashe Awakening is almost as good as Terra Awakening but she can dualcast water while Terra can't (ironic since Terra used to have water soul breaks a long time ago) Having both would be major coverage.

With my lvl 99 Syldra (from 4 RS clears), Zack Chain, Terra Awakening and an ability double Palom, Adamantoise wasn't too bad.

Not sure if I have what it takes to tackle Odin. Maybe the fire weak version, we'll see.

Pushed him to phase 5 at an awful time, right after incubus graviga in phase 4. Used rejuvenation grimiore, but then got hit with it right after, and ultimate bioga killed everyone except TGC. Got his USB off, but then died. Wouldve likely had just over 30 seconds.

I feel if I add holy boosting Armor to at least TGC and Marche (though everyone has holy boosting swords), it could help. But it would lower both of their resistances by at least 70-80. Worth it? May try regardless

Bosses uses so many piercing attacks in the current meta that defense/resistance doesn't really matter much anymore, HP boons/magia/crystal waters are much more important these days.

Did a bunch of magicite farming to prepare for Odin, got my Lakshmi to level 99, but I'm probably going to use it for inheritance on a Madeen (I can get more later) I also got 6 more Syldras to give two magic +20 boons to my Adamantoise, I even used another artifact stone to get the ice attack sword so Sora's chases do more damage but what helped most of all was the Holy mind dagger on Elara to boost the regenera time, that extra 2000 saved me a last stand triggers a few times. This fight still sucks hard though.

It's kinda nice that the second slot of Adamantoise doesn't go to waste like most of the empower element *5 magicite on mage teams, though granted Ramuh and Lightning Odin's attacks are all piercing. Helps with the squishiness of mages on general bosses though.

Also beat the Absolute Virtue raid, usually I don't do those gil only reward bosses but this is one boss I never fought before. It's a weird fight where you have to use a bunch of elemental attacks to break some kind of regen barrier.
