The movie itself was terrible and only did well because 1. It's a fucking Marvel movie. 2. It's easy for a movie to do well when it's the only thing showing in multiple theaters. I was planning on seeing HTTYD 3 that weekend and couldn't because all the theaters in my area were only showing Captain Marvel and 3. Was deceptively marketed as a lead up to Endgame when that was the furthest thing from the truth. Nothing in her movie actually pertains to Endgame. In Dragon Ball Goku was always super powerful, but the challenge came from actually learning techniques and how to counter his opponents. In Z, he would just morph into the next level of Super Saiyan. The iteration of Captain Marvel (or I guess more specifically Carol Danvers) I liked was the one in Jessica Jones, because they made her more human. --- I am a senior software engineer.
