I like the Sync Pair Stories a lot. They give some depth to characters you didn't really get to know through the games, like Rosa, and those you do get to know have some extra backstory thrown in to still make them seem worth reading.

Honestly, this game seems really neat, and well made enough to throw the $10, or whatever the cheapest special was, I forget, at it. I'm spending them slow, by only doing the daily discount scouts, and so far, it's rewarded me with Sophocles and Olivia, the latter of which was the trainer I wanted the second-most out of all of the 5* units, so that's pretty awesome!

All the Sync Stories I've done have just been conversations, no battles. I haven't rolled yet, so I'm not sure if that'll be true for all the sync pairs.

Curious to see how the lack of stamina affects the longevity here. Doesn't seem like there's anything preventing you from just clearing everything and maxing out all your characters immediately except time investment, which is pretty minimal given the auto-battle seems pretty good.

People really don't like the idea of "here have a guaranteed 5 star trainer!! enjoy! but paid gems only lol"
And either people have really old and shitty phones, or this game have high requirements because a lot of complain complain about getting a message that their device is not compatible

I think it just comes across as an unpleasant surprise the first time you see it. If there was a clearly different free and paid currency it wouldnt have fazed me, but the identical symbology of it just misled me to slight disappointment.

stuff bothering me with this game so far:

-no starter pick. I get that Pikachu is Pikachu, but you could still give me Pikachu with Red or someone early in the story and let me have some choice of my first mon.

-the simplified type advantage system is messing with my brain. I thundershocked a Geodude! Thats not ok. Also the Blissey I just got is weak to fire and thats not even a thing fairy is weak to(!!!!!!). At least give each pair one weakness and also one resistance so im not body slamming ghosts.

-Brock and Mistys voices are bumming me out

-I have opened three Marleys and seriously who is that why is that person in this game

i dunno none of it is a big deal except the Type stuff which I really do think they oversimplified

Did you teach Snivy a new move yet? My best guess is its indicating that you can do that.

I have not, but it doesnt do it for any of the other characters either. Starting to think maybe it means incoming super effective attack, but then it didnt appear on Vileplume who is also grass even when it got hit by a Fire move so I dunno

Seems like training machines are the real bottleneck here? I haven't seen a great way to get them aside from coin exchange, and the fact that you need 100 of them to get a Super Training Machine feel excessive.

Edit: Nevermind, I guess they drop from some of the training missions.

recently got back to opera omnia (aww yeah coming back to raytan quistis supports) which got me to just gem currency without "paid" differentiation

also checked in on my JP account and straight up every banner was offering 1 free try, and they bumped up EX-weapons on some to like 5% there

Marley is one of the trainers that would team up with you for an area in D/P/Pt. Remember how that was a thing in those games? Cheryl is another one of them who's in this game.

cheryls the most recent one I opened and I also was confused by her

I guess they cant all be winners, you need to save some for later... although just gym leaders, elite four, champs, and main characters gets you around 100 characters to work with so maybe they didnt need to dig into the dregs so soon.

Brock sucks. I'd recommend leveling Barry, Piplup + buffs from Snivy can tear apart most of the early stuff with no trouble.

I managed to win thanks to Snivys OP gain 3 action bars move you can use twice. Wish it showed enemy power levels so you had an idea if your team was anywhere close to the enemy or not.

Blissey isn't weak to Fire, just Fighting. She's tagged with Fire because she can learn Flamethrower.

How do I increase my level cap? Skyla hit 30 and now it feels like a waste to keep using her in fights she wont gain experience in

Suddenly Skyla being difficult makes sense when you recruit her and she's 8 levels higher than everyone else...

Theres a mission you need to do in training to unlock breaking the level cap. Once you do that it becomes an option at the person you talk to to use moves/level up/etc.

Oh, thanks. Im on ch.7 now and still just using the free stuff. Now that I can go over lv30 I should be fine. Seems like your starter person and Pikachu lose usefulness fast. I havent faced any electric weak stuff in a while

Yeah, your trainer is one of the worst ones in the game currently, which is a bit of a bummer.
