Final Fantasy VII Remake Chapter 5 complete!

Fighting through the train and the tunnels was a lot more intense this time than in the original game. It was pretty fun! The boss fight they added down here was neat, too. They're doing a really good job of making Heidegger hateable like he was in the original game. Can't wait for Rufus to shut down his horse laugh!

I love that they do the typical JRPG trope of, "Security is tighter than I thought." *two guards on duty*

Whew, I finally finished the LP of DGS 2-3! Man, that was a wild case. I'm glad I was finally able to see all of that. So many twists and turns on that last trial day!

I didn't really think Prosecutor van Zieks was anything special in the first game, but he's really stepped up his game in the sequel. He was excellent in this case in particular.

oh and Susato is a treasure that so many will never get to experience

Depends on your definition of annoying! He was extremely naive and Chapter 1 is all about breaking him as he sees what the world is really like.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Chapter 6 complete!

Trying to get all the materia in this section was a bit of a hassle, but I managed to get it done eventually! Not a lot of story going on in this chapter, but the constant banter between the three is fantastic.

Also, we got a grappling gun, huh. That's cool.

I was tied with you before today but I dunno when I could realistically get to the leaderboard. I guess MK8 winning the fourpack should lift me up a bit, but that only makes up for the Sonic Mania miss.

I originally had it making it to quarters or something because I thought it was a lot more popular than it actually was. I thought I changed to only winning 1 match but I guess I had it at 2.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Chapter 7 complete!

In some ways, I enjoy how expansive they've made everything, but at the same time, it almost makes it feel like Mako Reactor 5 was never going to end considering in my mind I know you do everything there is to do in there in like 10 minutes in the original! I do like that you could nerf Air Buster before you fought him.

I like how Shinra basically turned this into a live event and scapegoated them as Wutai's allies to stir up public fervor in their support. I did enjoy Heidegger bragging about Air Buster, only for one of his subordinates to talk about how it was only 60% ready in the background. President Shinra talked about cellular degeneration being one of the side effects of being in SOLDIER (or more accurately, the side effect of being exposed to mako the way they are). I wonder what he meant by that exactly.

Anyway, the Air Buster fight was pretty fun. I just kept filling up ATB bars with one character, drain them, rotate to the next character, and then repeat. The part where he separates his arms and they attack separately was really annoying, but other than that, it wasn't too bad.

I figured they'd work the grappling gun into Cloud falling from the bridge here!

Well I was wrong about Mario Kart. I knew it could win here but I thought it would be close. (Also ended up picking FFXIV RIP) Oh well. Round 2 going much better for me than round 1. I have no chance at winning or the leaderboard since I'm not there now and picked an upset against Witcher 3, but it's looking more like my final score will be respectable at least.

Also watched episode 1 of Kaguya-sama season 2 today. Pretty good start. Glad to see Hayasaka and Ishigami still eternally get the short end of the stick

There's only so strong HGSS can be. I don't think it has much of a chance against NieR: Automata.

Oh, I agree HG/SS has a lower ceiling than G/S/C. This doesn't convince me it can't beat Automata.

(still don't think it has much of a shot at Skyrim regardless)
