Also you guys try the Infinite Battle? I honestly think that's one of the best modes I've seen in an F2P game ever. It's basically like draft decks where you get to try out some pretty op combo of passives and skills.

But uhh... I had a pretty op team and freaking lost on floor 15 because I'm an idiot and didn't see there were 2 floors. Blew all my ultimates b4 the actual hard fight -_-

That's some absolutely horrendous luck if you really went all 20 without a single weapon. It took me 7 of the 20 rolls to pull the weapon to get the cute cyborg doll loli that I wanted, and I pulled some kind of weapon (and a character with it) in at least half of them.

Oof, yeah, of my 19 rolls before I settled, half of them gave me a weapon/character.

I actually *skipped* Celeste the first tme she appeared (about 3rd roll) because I was curious about who else would show up and pressed my luck. Thankfully she came back right there at the end otherwise I would have done without an early extra myself, haha.

I do think some of the numbers are off. I've had ones where you couldn't fall below a certain amount of HP end up succeeding when I thought I failed because the game can't consistently decide what's 30% and not.

I have Sigurd's 5* as my starting roll. I'm trying to roll the featured banner girl right now because I got her full set but it's not looking optimistic... Hoping to get another full roll, cuz having to beat basically the whole game to unlock her is absurd.

Sigurd is really good though. He has a lot of tools that actually lets him do pretty relevant damage despite being tankier than any other chars I've tried. In fact I think he's the only tank-like unit I've seen? Though I guess you can build anybody tanky in Infinite battle.

Offensive tanks are my favorite archetype in anything ever, so I'm pretty content with him, but I don't have any other 5* weapon right now

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a mechanic that makes it hard/impossible to roll the "newest" character. Case in point, I haven't heard of anyone getting Fran during their initial 20 roll, or how you're not the only one I know of that got her whole set fron the current banner, but have yet to summon her specifically.

Which is probably one way the gacha gonna getcha as it were. Sure, every character is free, but how long would it take to unlock the latest ones assuming you're using dropped gear and starter/freebie weapons? I'd hate to think at some point that there's a literal paywall if the difficulty ever spikes to hard.

Right now I'm giving the game the benefit of a doubt that it won't pull something like that, but I still wonder what they might do to level-off/slow progress so people don't burn through the whole game too soon or to create an incentive to buy.

Deals (10+100% of the caster's Attack) physical damage. At the beginning of turn 1, Celeste chooses the first enemy on the 4 columns as her sacrifice. Her each attack drains strength from them and triggers additional(10+50% of her Attack)damage 1-4 times. Whenever a sacrifice is defeated, Celeste takes (50+100%) armor-piercing damage and has her Attack reduced by 25% (initially 5 stacks, losing 1 stack upon attacking).

Like they could've said "Every/Each attack" instead of "Her each attack". Also there are those typos where there's no space before and after the parenthesis lol.

I'm curious as well. The game is fine at the moment but the current gameplay loop will get stale after so long if there aren't events. I'd be surprised if there aren't any though considering the majority of gachas have them.

To be honest I'm kinda salty about the whole "Break X parts" or "Use certain character" missions. I need to grind the boss stages and break parts so I can get a weapon to break parts for another boss lol. But I hate being forced to use characters that I don't like... The grindiest of grinding can't compare to that :<

That's good because I like to play games from day 1 (or at least early on) so I don't miss too much. The one time I don't feel bad about starting late was with The Alchemist Code. I started near the end of the Crystal of Re:union so I was able to reroll for Merlinus. It took me a hell of a long time, so if I had tried to get her with regular pulls I would've had to spend a crapload. Clearly you can see why I would reroll for such a character :3

At most, it seems that one fight against those werewolf brothers is "event-ish" in the sense that it ends on the 25th, but it could also be a rotation thing where it gets replaced with another special fight before coming back later (as opposed to never coming back at all or only once a year).

It's not like the game's lacking in content. I've actually been kinda into this game and still stuck at 5-10 trying to power up Shion to do those damn missions.

Btw, I know from Infinite mode thing but the Tentacle Girl gets pretty op if you get her one of the 5* weapons. She kinda sucks before she gets one but still very worth picking for the later part of the game to go super easy

Speaking of coincidences... there was a mini-update today but I have no idea what it did. Given some of the recent talk about tilted summon odds for Fran, and the two biggest grumblers about it *just* got her, I'm legit curious if they stealth patched a possibly broken gacha rate.

Can you imagine? A company actually *increasing* drop rates because they knew something was busted/too low, instead of letting people continue getting snubbed while pretending nothing was wrong.

Hell, Fran wasn't my only new character today either.

Another detail I noticed (though this could have been true even before today), is that the max star level is 6, and you go up one level per new weapon, but every character has 7-8 weapons. This means that even though gear is the gacha, you're not forced to get *every* weapon to cap someone's rarity, coupled with how at least a few weapons aren't gacha at all, you farm for them like everyone else.

Maybe it's just the "honeymoon phase" talking, but Battle Divas continues to impress me with how it actively tries to avoid being scummy despite several opportunities to do so (albeit the "fixed" summons thing could just be coincidence as I said earlier).

I totally agree. Like I said earlier, this game seems to be very generous in terms of giving free players and low spenders more room to enjoy the game. I actually just bought the $10 monthly gems pack because I'm really happy with how the game turned out, and if it stays this good for the long haul, I'll probably buy that same pack a few more times going forward.

Yeah I'm on a honeymoon phase too, and I really hesitate to say that this has been one of my favorite gacha games. I've been lucky with Fran by getting her full set and not getting like a mix or missing one. However, I liked the game b4 getting Fran because the battles have been really fun, and figuring out how to get the max stars on every battle has been strategically gratifying and rewarding.

Also yeah I noticed the more than 6 weapon thing too. A character's star lvl doesn't really matter that much for the most part I think? The biggest part where it matters is completing some of the missions and yeah I guess the extra stats for it are quite good too especially early on, like getting an extra 500 hp. I am sorta worried because there aren't that much f2p gems given out in general. The game doesn't die by the gacha but it does design a lot of things assuming you've rerolled for something good.

If I wanna give my advice on the game, they'd be:

1. Farm up Angela's 2nd weapon ASAP. She's probably the best free early unit in the game til maybe Sigurd in Ch 8? by a pretty big margin. Her 2nd weapon makes her do absurd damage on the first 3 turns, which is usually enough to set up a winning field. Equip her with anything crit chance or early damage related
2. Don't get hung up on getting max star on all the stages and just progress. There's a bit of a difficulty wall in Ch 8ish where you unlock these legendary weapon stages. The earlier you unlock them the better, and the missions in the previous levels are a lot easier with more weapons.
3. Don't necessarily reroll for characters you unlock later because you'll have to wait quite a while til you can 2*+ them >.>. You can beat everything with early characters.
4. Rolling 5 in a row is cheaper than pulling 1 box at a time

I'm sorta afraid because the game really only gives enough free rolls for like 2 full pulls b4 Ch 8 where shit starts getting genuinely difficult without relying on some gacha overlords. (Heck, even Ch 7 vs the Sephiroth looking guy kicked my ass and Fran's ult was basically the only reason I won).

I've heard Ch 8 is where a lot of ppl who like the game start feeling a bit iffy about it. I'm afraid to ruin the image of the game, but maybe I'll just do legendary weapon runs on the side (they're 50 stam so probably will take a while) and focus on other games and such. Xenoblade DE is coming out soon for the Switch so I'll probably have 0 time to play this game.

Yeah a lvl 30ish Angela with weapon 2 and the medium offensive chip set does like 1.2k+ dmg with a crit in a straight line that covers almost the whole map. She's not great against bosses because she can't hit 1 space ahead of her, and bosses tend to move all over the map if they're not giant monsters. But she will get you there and clear the field of any mobs. All you have to do is field other 3 ppl who can do everything else.

Also one funny story quirk I like is that Sarah hates Vel, but as soon as shit hits the fan, she immediately asks Vel what to do lmao

Whoops, I was actually on Ch 6 when I made that post. The Sephiroth guy fight that was difficult was Ch 6 so the short difficulty spike happens sooner than you think. I'm finally on Ch 7 though, but my party isn't strong enough to get all the missions done. Sigurd is Ch 8 btw and Kagura is Ch 7. From Infinite War, I've discovered Kagura is a pretty decent healer if you use her 2nd weapon. Your best dps, Angela, and 2 healers is not a bad comp. I don't think I was ever in danger of running out of turns, so survivability probably beats all the stages. Kagura is required for the 3rd tier of the exp dungeon as well. I'm gonna be running the exp dungeon all day tmrw probably

I'd also recommend doing all the arena fights right now. They're all against lvl 1 cpu comps and will give you free honor points. If you look at the store, it actually doesn't take that much to buy a 5* weapon for a unit you like. I think it refreshes once per week, but it's a pretty good option to power up the team. Doesn't feel like you can just power up as long as you play a lot more than biding your time and building up comps.

I think one more piece of advice to add is that characters can always move their max number of spaces (unless they have a status of course). So they can go through enemies, or even around obstacles. Like say you have a unit on the top row with a box in front of them blocking them from moving directly forward, you can still move two panels ahead even though youll actually be moving 4 since youll walk around the box lol.

Kinda silly, but oh well lol

Just rolled one of Fran's 5* weapons (Broken Soul). Not sure which is the best of her set but I'm happy none the less. I have three pieces of her 5* armor but one of three is part of another armor set, unfortunately, so I don't get that sexy gear set effect.

I also pulled Fran and her Broken Soul today, but I was rolling from the normal supply chest (and not her personal one) because I wasn't really interested in her. At least we know now that most, if not all, of the characters beyond the first 15 are also going in the permanent supply chest pool.

As for Fran's best set, I think from what I can see, she has several different styles. Dark Taboo basically gives everybody around Fran her super broken shield stack passive, making her more of a support/dps. Broken Soul (which fire is amazing for mid game cuz ch 6~7 has a ton of parts that can only be broken by fire attack) makes her an offensive tank.

The one I got, Divine Protection and its set, makes her a freaking DPS monster. Her ult is kinda RNG though. She randomly teleports to a corner of the map after attack. Her Ult gives her more movement but sometimes it puts you far away from the boss lul

Also seems lvl 40 is the max lvl? I dunno if increasing the level cap is possible, but it's easier than I thought to get there. The EXP dungeon really doesn't put up much of a fight

In other words, no one's waifu or husbando of choice can be truly power crept and everyone will remain viable in some way. Oh for sure, as much as I joke about catgirls and the like, it takes more than that to keep me invested in a game (mobile or otherwise). In the case of Battle Divas, it helps that I'm also a sucker for SRPGs, and that the last one I tried (War of the Visions) turned out to be disappointing (and that one gave it's catgirl away for free!).

Well, we already discussed earlier how their might be a difficulty spike somewhere to keep people from finishing the story too soon, it was just a question of whether or not it was going to be a paywall. From the sounds of it, they're going to detour us with some grinding.

And it may not be a hurtle you can buy your way past either, if the key to those later battles is the effects of those legendary weapons and not the level cap increase.

Yeah we get a full pull on the 6th day and a legendary weapon on the 7th day. I'm pretty sure the 7th day will completely dictate how I'll play from then on lmao. I'm sorely missing some firepower in fire element right now. Vel is a bit too weak tbh and Fuma can't do damage without his ult or his 2nd weapon. Sadly for whatever reason, his ult no longer counts as a fire element

Trying to farm up those wolf guys because why not, and I want those chips. But it's really difficult to break them. My Fran can solo them, but it's the breaking that's really difficult

Yeah breaking is the thing that's really starting to annoy me. It forces you to use other weapons, and if those weapons aren't leveled up enough it makes it a pain <_<

It also makes it so that you can't auto farm for pieces since the AI will just go unga :<

That one has definitely been a pain in the ass, and I've just accepted that I'm not getting all the missions (much less the gear) before it's over.
