So it looks like today has been cruise control. Should I back lynching Corrik or Death... Pretty sure there's scum in that pairing, possibly double scum. We could always policy lynch Corrik today and if he flips town do Death tomorrow?

I like that your complaint is that I put forward that you both could be scum rather than that I might want to lynch you lol.

I think the odds of you both being scum is extremely, extremely low but not zero. I don't think Death would go along with the level of antagonism you've shown if he was your scum buddy

I'm not conviced Corrik is scum. His play is really weird - and while he didn't lynch red (I'm not sure why) he was saying that red was likely scum before the train started (I think?).

Alright, looking back over things I actually think Scare comes off really badly. He did a lot of passive defense for red even as far back as Topic 2, with the disneyland flowchart joke along with "i think we're ok with red for now" in the same post, saying he's "on the red side of things" yesterday near the deadline, and also saying he "doesn't recall the case on puns", who was someone else with a weird/suspicious vote at the end of yesterday.

Maybe the joke was just a joke but it happened to be timed when bolt was firing at red on his inactivity and that's kind of a clever and subtle defense.

Still believe this.

He could be gone for real life reasons, he could be silenced etc.

I mainly voted Scare to see who would react and how. I really don't like his EOD interactions and defense of Red yesterday but I've got other things on my mind today. I'm sure some of you have noticed I've been quieter than usual, and while I was busy yesterday it wasn't all day. I've been trying to feed Death or Corrik enough rope to hang themselves.

It was around here that I picked up on what Corrik and had our blow up, where I finally got some solid information out of him about what was doing, basically soft claiming that he Tracked Death to Damion last Night. I even started bread crumbing my suspicions.

Cuz from my power calculations scum should not have had enough oomph left last night to send someone to Damion after role blocking the cop and failing to kill someone.

Probably but I'm looking at it from a perspective of night-moving roles. We assume they have a role blocker since the cop got stopped. At least 1 vanilla scum. The Godfather/Ninja already dead. I would assume a strong man or assassin on top of that but Damion didn't die so that rules out you tracking Death as an assassin probably. There are possibly other things I'm overlooking, I don't claim to have perfect knowledge of the meta here, but those are the usual scum roles I think?

I already had the idea for this forming in my head by now but I knew I had to slow play it. We're running low on time, though.

So we get Corrik moving on to his second claim, "Possessor", or Witch as we know it from Town Of Salem crew. Which, ironically, is a neutral role that wins with scum, something I called out when I was looking at setup meta. I wonder if I put the idea for this in Corrik's head.

Assuming death had an ability.

So, when Death mentions Damion early this day. I go hmmmm. That's interesting. I wonder if death was the nightkiller and he is actually kinda trying to fish why his shot failed by being curious at the first Damion interaction.

Was a long shot, but it did pretty much solidify death as town vanilla. Barring my hail mary hope that Damion comes in and claims bulletproof.

And I think that is the crux of the Death/Corrik issue. There are two possibilities. In order of likelihood:

1) Corrik is scum and KNOWS Damion is silenced or Damion is his scum buddy being quiet to support Corrik's framing of Death. That was my immediate thought last night, I even got it nice and time stamped to prove it.

You can see I wrote that between posts 43 and 44 of this topic. It just seemed super obvious at the time but I didn't want to say it yet because I wanted to give Corrik enough rope to hang himself if I was right. Which I think he has done. He eventually backed off this logic because no one was biting. He painted it as an attempt to bait Death into claiming but I think that was just his backup plan to keep from looking too suspect. Sultan laid out the Damion bait, Death was the one who bit on it, and then Corrik ran with it.

2) Corrik is *actually* Tracker/Possessor/some other power role and has knowledge that Death visited Damion last night. And Death actually silenced Damion, which is why he has not checked in yet. Considering how elaborate Corrik's attempts were (double claiming to push his objective) this seems extremely unlikely.

So yeah. This is why I'm fairly certain Death and Corrik are different alignments, and if we lynch one of them today we'll either hit scum or know who to get tomorrow. I suggest starting with Corrik.
