Pretty sure it's badly made trash even for that type of show. At least, that was what people were saying when it was airing.

The show stays pretty consistent so if you like episode 1, you should enjoy the rest. The only downside to that show IMO is that it makes me want to drink and I can't anymore.

Forgot to ask, how'd you end up doing from the free draws + treasure rush?

I ended up with Predator and Baal from the draws. Rush got me a second Agni copy, Belial, and a 5 gold moon box. As far as volume goes, it was underwhelming for me, but as far as quality, I'm pretty damn happy about what I got.

I was hoping to get some summer units, but didn't get any, except the two newest summer SRs. Didn't get a single of the 7 summer SRs that I was missing though. I'm half tempted to roll right now tbh. I've got like 467 draws saved, but I'm mainly aiming for Kumbhira and the next zodiac, so I'll probably just keep hoarding draws until the end of the year.

You got the Mim I was hoping for, though summer Anila is my biggest want of this years' summer units.

Collection of Sa Ga (i.e. the Final Fantasy Legend trilogy) has been announced for Switch. This makes me happy, and I am going to pre-order it at the first opportunity, but ... I am a little disappointed that Square Enix is only doing the original Game Boy versions of the games. Sa Ga 2 and Sa Ga 3 both received DS remakes, and those remain stubbornly stuck on the other side of the Pacific.

although based on the authors other mangas, and how he does things, aki is most likely actually dead.

Aww, I like Thunderbolt. He's usually one of the first boss monsters I tame and use as a mount seeing as he's one of the faster monsters, and his taming item is one of the easier ones to get.

Also, what weapon are you maining?

You can tame and ride monsters in Rune Factory 4.

You can also tame and ride boss monsters.

Though you need a special item or crop to do it.

There are 6 (technically 7) weapon types in the game, each with their own skill level.

The 7th is Staff, but is usually paired with magic spells since using a staff cuts RP spell cost.

Not really topical, but I started reading Amazing Spider-Man recently. I was never that big on American comics, but I'm a big Spidey fan and had a craving.

I started on #546; that's where the whole continuity gets rebooted so even current readers were new to what was going on. I didn't know they regularly switch artists (though I probably should have, since I used to read Archie comics).

Ryugi's almost father-daughter relationship with Taiga in Toradora reminds me how often there's a kinda weird vibe like that in a lot of these slice-of-life romantic comedies where you have a significantly more mature male character almost acting like a caregiver or some shit. Other than that, it seems pretty okay so far.

I may have said it in this series of topics before, but my interest in reading comic books died in 2014. I did read the first stretch of Brand New Day in ASM, and it was all right for what it was, but ... I am never a big fan of jettisoning a ton of important character development because the writers lack the chutzpah to follow through. In this particular case, though:

One More Day was shit. One of the worst arcs Marvel has ever produced. All because Joe Quesada hates redheads.

Everything that happened in One More Day was unnecessary.

-If they wanted to make people forget about Spider-Man revealing his identity to the world, there are a million reality warpers who could do that.
-If they wanted to heal Aunt May, there are a billion scientists and sorcerers who could do that (despite what they tried to tell the audience)
-If they wanted to split up Peter and MJ, they could have simply had marital issues and gotten a divorce.

That being said, Amazing Spider-Man has been pretty damn good since Vol 4.

Finished Toradora. It was pretty good, other than starting a little weak and fading a bit by the end. (Not to mention going the stereotypical safe route with characters running away then immediately coming back.)

Once again, though, it's an anime with a kinda open-ending which is starting to piss me off. I checked and, because it was originally based on a light novel, the manga doesn't seem to go any further (and if the wiki is correct, the manga was covering the same shit as the anime way later than the anime?). I suppose it's also just a matter of commercialism getting in the way of artistry, since so many of these series leave shit on the table in the hopes of being able to continue the story. (Which, on an unrelated note, is what really pissed me off about You Will Hear the Voices of the Dead because the mangaka *knew* that there was no hope of that continuing yet the series basically ends on a massive cliffhanger that she pretended was an ending.)

the anime aired when the light novel was like 90% done anyways so you got basically everything in the anime, the ending's fine. you literally just miss out on one last volume set after the climax of the plot had been resolved

if you want more, the visual novel on psp was fan translated at some point and is alright

it's set after christmas eve with the change that ryuuji collapses in the cold and develops temporary amnesia, which makes for some interesting interactions with people like ami

Blue Exorcist s2 is on NF. Hadn't really expected a second season after watching that first one... and, in general, I can't remember much about how s1 ended. I remember the last scene from the season but a lot of the stuff around the devil-possessed brother is kind of a blank, other than it dragging on and revealing the devil's relationship with the boys' mom. I *still* can't remember why one bother is demonic yet the other brother was the compatible host for the devil. Plus it's showing some flashbacks I don't remember (although right after that it goes to an exposition flashback I remember a bit of)... and then right after that they have some exposition where people are treating that like some new revelation when it was previously discussed many, many times in s1.

In general, it's one of those guilty pleasure anime; it's mostly derivative crap, but it's fun.

Possibly because they reuse so many damn tropes... or maybe you did read part of it. I've had it happen to me as well at times. It's a little unnerving.

Honestly I'm doubting the whole "She's the Control Devil" thing now. She might be something else entirely.

Funny thing about the door though, it might be different from the one in Denji's mind.

And some other comments suggested that Denji's contract wasn't To live a normal life but "show me your dreams" so Makima is lying about that.

Finished Blue Exorcist s2. The narrative was a lot more tightly focused -- probably due to the length of the season (although there was a bit of padding) -- so the story felt more continuous. The only things that kinda bugged me was that you had the separate battles across multiple episodes at the end (which is *always* annoying) and the whole thing had kind of an anime movie vibe to it (probably because the story was focused to a fault and had too many damn callbacks to shit that happened earlier in the season).

I liked that it had the trappings of lore, though, when it starts to reference the Demonic Table of Elements and talking about a connection to the King of Rot or whatever.

Because I don't start anything super long atm, I've decided to watch Devilman Crybaby... and I was immediately taken by the animation, which looked kinda cool at first (particularly the car stuff) before realizing that it kinda gives the show a cheap look later on.
