Bucks/FTR has been built longer and is the bigger match on paper.

But this build for Eddie/Mox is so good. Kingston just sells the importance of the titles better than anyone.

But Bucks/FTR has frankly had such a shitty build up that they should've just gotten this match over with months ago. Kingston/Mox is simple, to the point, and already feels a million times better than Bucks/FTR. Like, Bucks/FTR will be an awesome match because all the Young Bucks have are awesome matches, but you could put them in there with, say, Chaos Theory or something and they'd have an awesome match. FTR has been such a let down that it's just nothing special anymore.

But anyway, the superior slow burn match up is going on right now in Cody vs. The Master of the Tornado DDT Fuego Del Sol. And that won't be nearly as disappointing as Bucks/FTR.

So I listened to Miro on Talk is Jericho and a few thoughts.

- Vince really does fucking pass the buck on literally everything.
- The wrestlers will never be able to start a union in WWE because there are so many stooges among them.
- Miro claims he and Lana never leaked their engagement photos and that Lana only sent it to her female friends and to the office. He says he doesn't know who leaked it yet.
- Miro said when he was going to do the fuck angle that it was pitched to him as being in one of the Wrestlemania main events
- Miro says that he had to convince them not to give him an erectile dysfunction story in the fuck angle and he had to talk them out of it.
- Miro claims there were about 10 of them talking about feeling unsafe wrestling with Covid like they were and the very next day, they were confronted and the office already knew about them talking about it. Stooges.
- Amusingly, Miro was almost fired from WWE over a Smackdown dark match I went to (my last WWE show I was at). It was because they had the referee do a superkick party with the Usos against him, Aiden English, and someone else. They were all fined for it and they said if Rusev didn't kick out when he did, he would've been fired. Jericho says that's all bullshit and they used to do more outrageous stuff during dark matches.

Pretty solid listen.

Christ, the combined 30 mins I've watched WWE in the last few weeks had Jey Uso destroying Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso going clean over Kevin Owens. Like I don't care what story he's in, I'd watch for Bryan, I'd watch for KO but I have zero interest in an Uso storyline. That's not how you get me watching again

So I finally got around to listening to Talk is Jericho with Andrew Yang. Really good interview, but he talked a lot about WWE's contracts and now that we have Biden as president, it seems relevant to bring up what he said now!

• First off, Yang is currently on Biden's campaign. So he knows everyone he needs to in order to make change happen.
• Yang says he feels entirely confident that he'll get change for people in WWE.
• WWE talent sent him multiple contracts because they were sick of how they're treated.
• Yang talks about how he understands why people sign these predatory contracts; because they have no other options to be at the top of the industry.
• It's difficult to bring cases against companies for misclassification of employees because they normally need someone to step up and talk about how they were mistreated, which puts their career at jeopardy.
• HOWEVER, Yang also said that he has multiple people willing to testify either in the company or recent ex-employees willing to speak out about it because they all understand it's wrong. He said one superstar "has been there for so long" that he will be willing to speak out "Because he's been there for so long there's literally nothing they can do to me at this point." (My guess is Ziggler tbh)
• He also mentioned people talk about feeling like they're being treated fairly in AEW as opposed to WWE. Jericho discussed about how all travel and lodging and everything is figured out and paid for.
• Yang talks about how he can see why AEW treats their wrestlers differently, because Tony Khan comes from a football background so they treat them like they're football players. WWE has always treated their employees like this, so he understands them not wanting to change.
• Yang estimates that WWE has saved hundreds of millions of dollars for classifying wrestlers as independent contractors.
• He also states that this can go two ways: 1) WWE can play ball and make the changes and treat wrestlers like employees rather than independent contractors and work with them to make it a smooth transition; or 2) WWE can be drug through it, oppose it, and go kicking and screaming during the process, and then they would all but show the WWE employees that they are actively fighting from letting them be treated fairly and prove they don't care about them at all, which is a bad look.
• He outright says he's absolutely going to make this happen and make it better for wrestlers in WWE. There is no question.

From the way he was talking, he really does feel beyond confident that he'll be able to follow through on this. Thanks Andrew Yang!

I listened to the same interview a couple weeks ago and I really found it fascinating how much work he's already poured into this project; I hope that he can continue the momentum now with the election finished. He'll have an uphill battle in the court system, however.

I dunno, we all have said how obvious it is that wrestlers are not independent contractors. Proving that should be simple, especially with a guy with the resources and the labor departments now on his side, and with current and recent WWE wrestlers willing to speak out. The reason WWE can still do this is simply because they've just never been challenged on it.

If Andrew Yang feels confident in it as a guy a hell of a lot more knowledgeable on it than almost anyone else, I'm willing to believe in his confidence here.

I didn't give a lot of Full Gear thoughts but I think it's probably the best PPV AEW has ever done since they officially began weekly.

Even the worst match, Nyla vs. Shida was really damn good.

I think Bucks vs. FTR lived up to the hype.

Eddie Kingston not winning makes me sad, but I was hoping he would win anyway. He just makes me feel so much for him and I don't know where he goes from here. The feud was just so simple and so perfect and I wish he could have just won, even if the plan is clearly Mox > Omega > Hangman. Maybe Kingston can get involved in the TNT Title picture or something. I dunno.

But speaking of Eddie Kingston, BTE is beyond worth watching entirely for his promo he cut after the match. There is not a single person in wrestling who can make me feel like Eddie Kingston can. Like fuck. This man just rips into his soul.

I've watched two AEW PPVs and none of the weekly shows. The last PPV I watched was the one with the unsanctioned match between Moxley and Omega (one year ago maybe?). I usually just forget that the PPVs are on Saturday instead of Sunday.

Full Gear was great but the Omega v Hangman match wasn't my favorite and the Darby Allin match felt like a squash considering how much time he spent on the mat. I swear he had about 5% offense for the entire match and then he won on basically a roll-up. When those two guys attacked after the match I was thinking why is Cody winded? He was basically untouched for the whole match!

But I like AEW, I might try to make more of an effort to watch it.

I think both Hangman vs. Omega and Darby vs. Cody (and the subsequent beat down) are a lot better if you follow the product too. The build up for both matches was really great (even if Darby's build up for the match was shorter).

I like the positional (collar and elbow/arm wrench/headlock) grapples of modern WWE games more than just strong/weak grapples of No Mercy era. You get more move options and it feels more fluid.
