My standard is "If it was a parent or a school, would they be in trouble?"

"Well let's see. They went to the doctor about an outbreak and the doctor gave express instructions. They ignored the doctor's express instructions and people died. That's probably going to be a problem legally or civilly.'

That's basically what it boils down to.

Trump kept the magnitude of this disease to himself (and his rich donors of course) so that he could look better. He is a sad, little man who I hope never to hear from again starting January 21st unless it is New York hellmurdering him in court. And considering they fucked with a New York AG, I expect a harsh hellmurdering.

Now Mitch can get shot and I'd smile, but Trump is kind of a waste of a bullet.

You'll have to do the pitying for me, I'm afraid.

Reaching across the aisle and attempted compromise has resulted in kids in cages, an unchecked pandemic, hundreds of thousands of dead Americans, ICE kidnapping and deporting people, worsening economic inequality, ect.

Civility is both unnecessary and immoral in a situation where it will only be taken advantage of to continue to exploit and severely damage the country

When you are at and supporting an event that is literally spewing hatred and calling for war, you lose the "innocent person" label. You are supporting a horrible cause, and you don't get to play victim when people respond in turn. Why should I feel bad about anybody getting attacked when they're calling for attacks on other people?

It's like saying "Won't somebody think of the poor nazis that got attacked leaving the nazi rally?!"

There's a degree of pity to be had for those continually gaslighted since birth, especially those indoctrinated by their parents, but at a certain point the well of pity dries out, and for most I think that point was COVID. It's difficult to feel sorry for people who are willing to hurt themselves because it will also hurt other people (who they hate for entirely arbitrary reasons).

I mean, I am not going to be violent towards anyone, but I am not going to be nice about this. This has been... horrific, and really soul destroying in many ways. I sat next to someone who was dead a month later and it kind of rattled me. I have health risks. It could have been me. I keep thinking about that. I have a couple of bad risk factors for COVID-19 and... a man I sat next to died from it. That's how close the grim reaper's scythe came to taking me, Corrik. Taking me from my baby boy and the love of my life. I'd never see him grow up and I'd leave a woman who takes shelter from this horrible world with me.

Then I realize... nurses have died to this given it their all. Parents have buried their kids because of this. Whole families have died from this.

And we have a man in the President who told donors about how bad it was but misled the entire country about the severity. He lied to the American public, and some poor souls had the misfortune of thinking they could trust the President of the United States. Many of them died or got others infected through their belief.

No man, I am not better than that. Fuck Donald Trump, fuck every Governor who bent the knee, fuck every congress person who spread the filth that killed me, and fuck the gutless democrats for not doing a damn thing about it.

Wishing that the spread of COVID magically gets contained entirely to that person is entirely unrealistic. When it spreads at all, it impacts so many more people than just the person you want dead.

Its like saying cant wait for Climate Change to drown Mar-a-Lago! because its not going to just drown Mar-a-Lago.

And COVID is a bigger problem than climate change

My stance that COVID is a bigger threat than climate change should not be taken lightly given that for years climate change has been my top issue as a voter.

They are the two biggest threats to the population of earth since Nazi Germany, but I give the edge to COVID for being more directly deadly. As climate change wrecks the planet, we can (hypothetically) adapt. As COVID wrecks the people and not the planet, we cant run from it, we can only hide until a cure.

I'm of the mind that adapting to Climate Change won't actually be possible unless we start addressing the issues very soon, which we won't. We're looking at an extinction-level event within this century.

COVID won't kill everyone. It'll just kill a lot of people, infect almost everyone, and leave many of those it infects with long-term health complications. Much better!

I feel like Wang is kind of a raw x-stats kind of guy whereas I am an adjusted x-stats kind of guy. To be clear, I don't support saying you hope somebody gets/dies from COVID at all.

I was responding because I was specifically called out for not having sympathy for a couple who got attacked leaving an event where "We're coming for the Jews and blacks first" signs were proudly and brazenly being waved. If you're supporting that kind of event and that kind of hate, you don't get "oh those poor people" reactions when people hate you back.
