I really like the first 20 seconds of Mystic, after that it's decent enough. Nice and chill, if not particularly revelatory. Necessary is not for me.
Egg is a solid track. I like how cheesy it is (the backing vocals!) and it could grow on me a lot, but 46 is on another level. I wasn't very familiar with XCX tracks before this contest but I've quickly grown very fond of them! 46 takes its time moving around, setting the atmosphere and laying the groundwork for its main melody, but I thoroughly enjoy the whole ride. I like that the main climax hits twice, first more restrained then letting it all out at 3:30 in a beautifully satisfying release. I'm very excited to hear more from this composer!
Making me vote against the cheese twice is unfair. Neither of these tracks have any business going out R1!

IDK how close the first match is anticipated to be (likely not very), but I greatly dislike both so no thanks on playing any role in assisting either to a victory. Egg Reverie is good shit though. Classic Sonic jam even though it's new. 46-:r19 is literally just an automatic password you're told to immediately change after logging in for the first time.

Egg Reverie is my favorite song from Sonic Mania! I love the production (even though the audio quality's always sounded a bit messy). The song has good "climactic final boss" energy while being unique enough to stand out from that subcategory of VGM. 46-:ri9 (which I previously had in my spreadsheet as Shiro no Tairiku) is good too, in yet another example of a song I love going up against a song I also like a lot.

I cannot believe Scroll Stage is still in contention. I thought it would get blown out. This makes me very happy!

Mystic Pendulum is chill and nice, but the parts of Discrepancy I really, really enjoy overshadow it.

And wow that transition straight into Egg Reverie is nice! I love Sonic music, and on many days, I'd vote for it without fail, but it goes against like one of my top five Xeno songs (sort of, I definitely prefer listening to the night version in isolation, but the day half is fine enough for me to not be fussed).

MP is no Sky of Twilight. It's alright, tho. I liked Necessary Discrepancy a lot the first time I heard it, and while I'm not as into it anymore, it's still solid. Cool style.

I wouldn't quite say I dislike Egg Reverie, but I find it really annoying for some reason. Easy win for chill Sawano.
