Episode name: Nippy.
Description: "A new player enters the game."

Guessing we'll see Walt make an appearance this ep.

We finally got our "how does Jimmy become Saul?" question answered last ep and it definitely wasn't a fun reveal

I'm guessing this episode and the next will be in the BB era, while the last two eps might be in the Gene era. Or three BB, 1 Gene. I'm curious as to what they'll add to Saul's character in the BB era.

Just caught that the cheese from the teaser is from Schnauz Farms.

Also I find it slightly amusing that they practiced their big heist in the snow and the guy ends up slipping on a slick spot on the floor.

lpl - i just googled "when was martinez a freshman" and ran with it. i was kinda wondering why they had them playing a big 12 schedule tho...

anyway, this means anything is possible. everything from back to albequerque to yet another flash forward.

after so long working within the strict confines of a prequel, it must have felt good for the writers to have the final episodes be capable of surprise

I noticed this episode dropped the "_ and _" theme of episode titles.

I was a little disappointed in it TBH.

The episode wasn't "bad" per se but it felt like it was written by different writers.

Suddenly Jimmy knows who the cab driver is, where he lives, his motivations, his mom's routine and feels confident fucking him around.

I mean they skip all that but then spent literally 5 minutes showing him mapping out how many feet between each clothing rack. Because we can't assume he did that but we can assume he transformed into Mike and did background checks/stake outs of Cabby for 2 weeks.

And the "Dump a crate on their doorstep and hope they leave it overnight and then never make the connection of the massive suspicious crate that arrived around the time their inventory was massively wrong" seems like a really bad scheme for no reason.

And then the result of the episode is we're back at square 1 as if Cab guy never turned up.

Just felt like filler with tons of plot convience. Like they extended a Gene opening season scene to an entire episode.

I just wasn't feeling it. Made me feel like the show just needs to end, the steam has gone.

Kinda felt the same way. Now that the BCS stuff is pretty much wrapped up, there doesn't seem to be anywhere else to go aside from the Gene stuff. Hope it gets more interesting from here.

Not a great episode, but still good. I think the episode feels weaker because we were getting some of the best ones previously. While it's not as great, I think it's there to start of what's to come. Thought the plan was going to go horribly wrong, or more wrong than it did. There's the sort of funny coincidence in that Jeff did some slippin like Jimmy. I was bummed out about the recast at first because the original actor was so damn great, but the new guy did fine. Always good to see Carol Burnett too even for a small role.

And damn I want some cinnamon rolls.

Yeah I didn't really like the ep either. I figured we would be getting an episode that takes place entirely in the future timeline, but I didn't expect it to be immediately now. I thought for sure we would be getting a Breaking Bad timeline episode from the perspective of Saul after the way last week ended.

This episode was kind of a drag.

Jimmy/Gene knows they only keep the security recordings for 72 hours and won't find out the items are missing before then, so there's really no evidence even if they do piece it together.

It's always funny when they have to make up brands like Zafiro Aejo and yet Cinnabon seemingly has no issue depicting their manager instigating a minor heist.

I mean that's why Jimmy spent weeks casing the place. If the dude had a tendency to sit on either side of the table, he'd probably rethink the entire scheme.

Yeah if he would have sat on the other side of the table Jimmy would have did another scheme.

I really liked the episode. It showed how quickly Gene was able to jump back into the meticulous scheming of Slippin Jimmy, and how much he desperately wanted/needed to go back. He's pretty much busting at the seams right now and its setting us up for the next three eps.

Wasn't it confirmed that Walt and Jesse were going to make a cameo appearance this season? If the rest of the episodes are just going to be Gene Takeovich, I don't see where that could possibly fit in anymore.

Was the "A 50 year old high school teacher walks into my office" it? >_>

Bob Odenkirk has said they make two substantial appearances and that they wouldn't have agreed to just a drive by cameo.

I liked the episode, but did anyone else feel like an actually robbery was outside of Jimmys comfort zone? He is a schemer for sure, but whenever hed rob someone, it would seemingly be a means of tricking them into willingly giving him their stuff.

When he an Marco swindle people, its with tricks. They are given the money. Jimmy and Kim trick Ken into buying them $50 shots. Jimmy manipulates the residents of Sandpiper to agree to the payout.

Flat out robbery just doesnt suit him, IMO. Agree? Disagree?

His real scheme was getting the cab driver guy to commit felonies, giving Saul leverage so the guy CAN'T turn Saul in without screwing himself over.

The robbery wasn't the scheme. The scheme was entangling Jeff into as many felonies as possible so that he couldn't rat Jimmy out.

Good call. I was looking into it a bit too much of Slippin Jimmy getting an itch again, and it came with the added benefit of gaining leverage. You guys are right, the overall purpose was to gain leverage.
