as this series goes on, Im really appreciating how much more it feels like an actual TV show. Ive enjoyed the D+ stuff, but they have kind of felt like a movie and a half cut up into six pieces of something rather than a properly episodic thing.

hoping we get more stuff like this going forward. Daredevils episode count seems like a good sign.

that said, I wouldnt mind if the episodes were a little longer so they could give some more time to the supporting cast. I liked Pug getting his own b story last week and would like to see more of that.

D23 is today, so there might be some cool casting announcements in a few hours

Who the hell wanted this line-up. Thunderbolts has been my favorite Marvel thing and I have wanted this for the entirety of the MCU.

And they just strip the whole concept for this uninspired dreck. But at least we're getting a real Taskmaster, but fuck you all the same with this.

I swear Feige said the Thunderbolt cast would be half existing half new characters before but that cast is so big already I'm not sure how much room they have for new members.

i found a claim that he said it will have characters we havent met yet that will be introduced during the phase before the movie, but I dont know if thats even real because theres no clear source

i dunno, I never expected Songbird since she hasnt shown up yet and theres no real logical place for her to show up before then

but I also thought the team would be a bit more Dark Avengersy with like Abomination and Justin Hammer instead of just a bunch of army guys

This literally just needed Zemo getting a bunch of losers like this Screaming Mimi D-lister from the Raft to make his own super team.

But we're getting another lame ass super team. I just wanted villains teaming up. Why not call this shit Secret Avengers or something? What the fuck? Why sacrifice the A+ idea of Thunderbolts pretending to be heroes and give us something new with an all-villain team up we don't ever get in the MCU.

They have deprived me of Moonstone what the fuck.

I guess Abomination could still be jnvolved and they just didnt want to spoil it yet before She-Hulks over, but Im not optimistic

they announced Hood would be in Ironheart, so maybe hes one of the not yet introduced members. dunno who else to even predict at this point... maybe Val will show up at the end of Echo to recruit her? thats not a particularly exciting idea, but seems like a thing they would do.

my thought exactly. I'm not a huge thunderbolts fan so I'm not upset or anything but this is definitely a secret avengers team.

The conspiracy theory answer is that they didn't want to get into a pissing contest with Gunn's Suicide Squad, so they went with EDGEVENGERS as their response.

I came in to see if people were talking about Werewolf by Night and was disappointed to just see people enraged by concept art!

Werewolf by Night looks amazing and like the coolest thing Marvel have done in a long, long time. This is what they should be doing with Disney+.

I'm happy to see more Red Guardian, so this Thunderbolts cast is fine to me.

Those are my initial thoughts too, though I was hoping for Zemo.

None of the individual characters seem surprising but I'm definitely surprised that's all of it, like no surprises or new characters

My only thing is that I would have liked to see a wider variety of characters; it's all people who are from Black Widow and FATWS plus Ghost who is a really pleasant surprise

I see people (not here) complaining about comic book fans' disappointment with Thunderbolts as more whining from comic book fans, which I think is absurd.

This has literally no spirit of the Thunderbolts at all, and this is going to be another generic group up hero movie. We've seen that. We've had that. Will it be entertaining? Sure. Maybe. But we could have had a hell of a lot better than what they're about to present to us. Three of the people in the group are literal Captain Americas.

We could have had something interesting here, where we have a group of villains masquerading as heroes for their own selfish gain, and the various drama in between there. But instead we're going to get the same uninspired stuff we've already went through with every character in the movies they're already from. It's fucking boring. There's nothing groundbreaking here. It's the same old shit.

Fans of the comics were excited because it's something completely different and interesting. Instead, we're about to get the same trash shoveled at us yet again. Who could blame people who actually enjoy the Thunderbolts thinking this was incredibly awful? What comic book fan would pick up a book with this line-up? It sucks.

You might not care for Zemo, but this would have been an opportunity to show an entirely different side of him that lined up entirely with the character. It would have given us dynamics and stories that we loved about him. His entire MCU run practically felt like it was building up to him taking heroism into his own hands (and to line his pockets). And now we have Zemo not actualized. This sucks.

I'll hold out for Dark Avengers maybe, because there may be good that comes from that concept, but the issue isn't that "Wow, these characters might all be fun together" moreso that "We could be having something so much more interesting and fun."

God, I hope so. I even thought they could've introduced Moonstone as the villain of the Captain Marvel sequel. Those two women deserve to be in more Marvel media.

Hannah John-Kamen is in the group photo so nah.

So from as far as I can tell, the only one in that picture that hasn't been a Thunderbolt is Red Guardian and the only member missing is Abomination. Aside from Ant-Man and Hawkeye but I wouldn't expect them to be in the MCU version anyway.

I do hope for a teaser of Val approaching Clint though.

Yelena Bologna has also not been in the Thunderbolts (it was Natasha Romanoff pretending to be her lol).

Taskmaster has only ever been in the Thunderbolts very recently, and Winter Soldier a little less recently than that.

I also want Yelena to reunite with Kate Beeshop :(
