Im honestly glad to see more Taskmaster. Putting Abomination in was a no brainer tho. I feel like Vulture would have been a good idea. They could probably justify Yellowjacket surviving. They already have Ghost in this, maybe Bill Foster could become Goliath finally.

Taskmaster is the one I think I'm happiest to see in that cast, hopefully this gives them some more chance to explore the character

The Taskmaster bridge fight was probably the best scene from Black widow

I still haven't seen faws and don't care for Zemo either. Feels more like a plot device than a villain.

Actually true but Luthor at least has charm. Though you could (and I would) argue its the completely wrong type of charm for Lex Luthor. But he is a character.

Clinging to hope this Taskmaster dies, like, 5 minutes into the movie Suicide Squad-ish and then the suit is given to a more legitimate Taskmaster.

(I don't remember Black Widow, was the ability tied to the suit or enhancements made to the person within the suit? I know in the comics the ability isn't suit-related but fear we're past that point...)

IIRC the random dude in the cast photo was the director (or maybe it was the writer).

Taskmaster wasn't the worst thing about BW

but I imagine if you're a huge Taskmaster fan (they do exist! there are dozens of us, dozens!) then the treatment of Taskmaster is up there with what Fox first did with Deadpool in Wolverine Origins

It being a random new Taskmaster instead of the established character from Black Widow would make the movie even more completely pointless.

Its ok maybe the real Taskmaster will be in Deadpool 3

Yeah, it was more akin to both Batman v. Superman and Civil War getting criticized for their respective villains having nonsensical evil plans. BvS probably became more infamous for it because of how Luthor's bombastic personality stands out from the movie's otherwise grimdark tone (also not entirely on topic but I unironically think Eisenberg made a better Lex Luthor in The Social Network than when he actually played Lex).

Yeah, I'm still amazed by how much of a slow-motion trainwreck the rival DCEU has become. Combine that with Sony's meme-worthy efforts to make its own Spider-Man cinematic universe and it seems like MCU movies will continue to do well if only to provide people with their superhero fix. Drat.

maybe in the seven years or whatever since Black Widow took place this version of Taskmaster will have developed a fun personality

i dont necessarily mind TM being a woman if they can at least make her cool, but she was a brainwashed void of a person in BW. Extremely Wolverine movie Deadpool style.

So this is fun, but for She-Hulk, the place Donny Blaze worked at was called the "Mystic Castle", which has to be based on the Magic Castle, which is a private club that's magic themed with a bunch of magic shows each night.

I actually got to go there a couple weekends ago when I was visiting my sister on vacation. We also watched She-Hulk the next day.

Finally got around to watching the latest She-Hulk episode. Not digging the dating stuff, but everything else was good.

Although when I saw Wong watching This Is Us, I got nervous they were about to spoil something since I'm on season 5 of that show...!

personally I'm just hoping that Donny Blaze is somehow foreshadowing Johnny Blaze

See I don't really agree with that.

So I think Lex and Zemo both could have been replaced outright if they wrote the story just a little different.

But that's where the similarities end.

Why I find Lex a little less plot devicey is because they're at least using a character with defined character traits and motivations where it could fit it into his motivations and be played that way. Lex's presence itself also adds something to the movie, for better or worse depending on how you feel about the idea of Eisenberg as Lex. Zemo on the other hand, not really a well defined character in my opinion, and just sort of exists entirely as an excuse for the heroes to fight over the Sokovia Accords. You could remove him from the movie entirely and I think it would be virtually identical-- Bucky only needs something to put the frieght car into motion and that could be literally anything, after that point the movie can more or less play out the same as long as you have Tony see that footage somehow.

But yeah imo both of their plots made sense, it's just how necessary the character was to grease the wheels on the plot and whether the character felt out of place or like they added anything aside from that grease or not.

thtis was very funny, but Im a little disappointed that the bootleg avengers gear didnt have Ant-Man on it as a continuity thing from the Hawkeye show

damnnnnn caught-off guard so just a heads-up for other's there's no mid-credits this week for some reason

still though I actually think this might be my favourite ep yet which is surprising since last week was so great and this week also caught me off-guard with the short length, that credits roll really snuck up on me, but also a fair portion of it isn't really on Jen

but the character work is great, I'm loving Nikki & Pug so I didn't mind taking the camera away from She-Hulk a bit, and then the court case itself had me absolutely dying (and feelin' for ya Jen damnnnn girl), and awwww yeah was not expecting that A++ tease for Daredevil coming

5 episodes in now and this is definitely looking to be my fav D+ show, with She-Hulk probably being my favourite supe to boot, she's such a relatable geeky joy.

Easily my least favourite episode. Kinda baffling you need a filler episode in a 9-episode season. None of the jokes really landed with me either.

Not gonna lie I'm kinda sad we won't see tiny Jennifer in the giant suit anymore, that always made me laugh

That was a fun episode.

I liked meeting the tailor though part of me wishes they just had Linda Hunt in to just play the Incredibles tailor.

There was some BAD cgi if She-hulk in some of those tailor scenes.

Other than that though, Ive been enjoying the tone of the show.

That episode felt like an episode in a on-running series. I feel like the episodes are a little short and could benefit from more time and more side character development, but this felt like it approached that.

This complete lack of understanding of trademark law drove me batty during this episode, but they brought Shane from Flight Attendant into the show and he was great so I can't be too mad.

Also did I miss it or did they just not explain why Titania burst into the court room and why she isn't in jail over it?

Also also the one Titania mega fan has to be sobbing at the presentation of her.

it was mentioned in the next episode - Titania was fleeing traffic court and her lawyers statement was that it was an unfortunate misunderstanding that was the result of an extreme case of low blood sugar

(if you don't remember, that was an excuse used last year by a basketball announcer who used the n-word in reference to to a high school girls team)

i feel like the thing keeping this from feeling like a proper tv show is that even when theres a B plot, it ties back into Jen stuff. The non-Jen characters arent allowed to have a story thats just for them.

I still laughed a few times, but a lot of the humor didn't really hit for me in this one. I realize I'm quoting one of the douchebag dates, but the Nikki and Pug bits felt a little too try-hardy on the comedy.

Turning the She Hulk title screen into a Titania product was a fun touch.

dont worry about it. it all makes perfect sense. Because wizards.

I mean, I'm trying not to dump on it too, too much because it's a dumb comedy show but it's super strange they just didn't give a fuck about the legal stuff even a little to try getting it right. Like guys, former She-Hulk writer and attorney Charles Soule is a phone call away! He'd love to tell you all about it!

The thing is, this episode doesn't happen at all if the legal system was applied properly at all so it's even harder to nitpick at all because then this just can't happen. So alas! I will just grit my teeth and smile through it.

I have found it slightly hard to go from watching Better Call Saul to this. It's not that it's bad, it's just playing way more fast and loose with law details and I've had to mentally reorient a bit.

Just to ask, in No Way Home did Doc Ock figure out the Green Goblin's true identity before or after Strange imprisoned both of them?

He allegedly found out about it in his own world, after Norman died. So he already had the knowledge prior to being pulled into the MCU.

I really enjoy this show man. It's so easy to watch. Fun, breezy, always laugh a few times per episode, good stuff

Show is good yeah.
