First reported by Kyodo news, Nintendo added a new policy in its customer support FAQ section last month. This new policy allows Nintendo to refuse to repair or replace products for any customer that exhibits 'toxic' behavior. As translated by VGC, the prohibited behavior includes everything from intimidating Nintendo employees to making excessive demands that go beyond normal service. Toxic behavior might also include making comments about Nintendo staff on social media or creating multiple complaints for the same case.

So long as this isn't abused to refuse making multiple Joycon repairs for the same person (that "multiple complaints for the same case" line could be interpreted that vaguely if they wanted), I'm all for it. Far, far too many companies treat dealing with abusive assholes as an unavoidable part of customer service. Any company that lets staff refuse service to them deserves major props for that, in my books.

I don't have an issue with it as long as it's not too loosely applied. Companies have legal obligations to honour warranties. While a belligerent customer should be refused service, the "excessive demands" part could be interpreted in a lot of shady ways.

Pretty much any decent company has a policy that if you are verbally abusive to their employees, they are going to immediately stop all customer service and tell you to GTFO. So yea, fair next.

This is pretty standard. Most call centers enact a policy where the representative can hang up on overly abusive customers.

The indifferent service reps aren't the same corporate executives behind various business decisions. They literally just want to get their hourly and they got nothing better to do with their 8 hours than try and assist the person on the other line, unless said person is an anus.

And the Switch is a fine piece of material. It actually has useful and relevant technology that gives it more flexibility than either of the two competitors.

You could argue that Sony and Microsoft continue to "shit out" their respective consoles knowing full well they're holding technological advancement of the entire industry back for the sake of appealing to the majority of casual families.

Wow, that's great. I wish we had those standards here in the US.

At Kroger we had a great policy if a customer felt like abusing you: bend over.

Personally, I just look at them dead in the eye and that's usually enough to get them to shut up.

No it isn't. Developers don't release most games on the Switch because the Switch CANNOT play them.
