Two particular themes of the Tea Partys politics struck Williamson at the time and loomed larger to her after the 2020 election. One was the conspiracism that characterized the views of many grass-roots Tea Partyers, despite the best efforts of the more mainstream-oriented leaders. This idea reached its purest expression in the conspiracy theories about Obama, whose presidency was so unsquarable with what the Tea Partyers believed to be the true nature of America that to some it seemed, ipso facto, to represent a crime. Even those who in interviews did not espouse conspiracy theories like the birth-certificate claim confided to Skocpol and Williamson an uneasiness about the new president that went beyond normal partisanship. I think that hes actually not what he seems to be, one Virginia Tea Partyer told them. Several interviewees told them that Obama planned to give amnesty to illegal immigrants in order to secure 10 million extra votes for his re-election enough to allow him to continue to ignore the interests of real Americans, Skocpol and Williamson wrote.

Not all Tea Partyers claimed that Obama had actively defrauded the electoral system. But even those who distanced themselves from the most overtly conspiratorial claims often argued that he had revealed the systems vulnerability. The nation was imperiled by the cult of multiculturalism, aided by leftist liberals all over, who dont have the same ideas about America as we do, Tom Tancredo, a former Republican congressman from Colorado and a star of the new movement, declared at the first Tea Party convention in Nashville in early 2010. People who couldnt even spell the word vote, or say it in English, put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House. He went on: This is our country. Lets take it back.

Twitter's Trust and Safety Council was what was dissolved. However, I don't believe that's the same as that Twitter Safety account.

The Trust and Safety Council was an advisory (i.e. they had no governance or policy power) group of independent non-profit volunteers from human rights organizations and others that Twitter would consult with for advice on issues like hate speech, self-harm, exploitation, etc.

Because verification is totally fucked because of Musk, it's hard to tell, but that "Twitter Safety" account having a (yellow? the fuck does that mean?) checkmark suggests to me that it's an official internal Twitter thing and not the same thing. Can't be 100% sure though but in a petty way the fact that it still retains a checkmark feels like circumstantial evidence that they are not the same thing because you have to imagine that'd be one of the first things Musk would take from them if they were the same.

Alternatively, it's possible it was supposed to be the same thing but it's run by a Twitter employee who could just be spewing the kind of bullshit Musk wants it on his orders/wishes rather than expressing the actual view of the independent council.

They also admit that they're cooking the books by excluding viral tweets with slurs that didn't break policies (which we know they got rid of, anyway, since the current policy is just "whatever Musk says is ok today is ok").

And even if we take your interpretation at face value, they say that total impressions of tweets with slurs are down. And from their own graph... that's not true! You're adding an extra qualifier to their statement that is different from what they display.

One generation? We haven't even recovered from FDR yet and it's been 3 or 4 generations. After FDR we have to recover from the failed policies of RINO Eisenhower and then liberals Kennedy and Johnson. Maybe starting in around 2050, we'll be able start enjoying the fruits of our beloved President Nixon's policies.
