Yeah, they are just filler activities. At least there are a decent number of trainers to fight in the wild.

It wouldve been nice to at least have fun filler activities. I feel like even children would find these boring

I've been busy attempting to breed a shiny sprigatito

As a result I have an entire box of 5 IV Adamant Natures where the non-perfect stat is SpAtk.

I also have two 6 IVs but those aren't extra. But if I get a few more before the shiny lands I might have extras of those too.

Masuda + Shiny Charm is 1 / 512 odds and I'm probably up to around 400~ so far.

I've been shiny breeding for sprigatito for weeks (okay the last couple days I've been distracted with moving)

I feel like by now I'm around 1k with Masuda + Shiny Charm and not one shiny :(

game you can make this up to me by making my eventual shiny a female

I was contemplating going around and beating all the trainers just to clear that task away. Does anyone know of a handy dandy map I can use and mark stuff off on that I don't have to make or buy a service to use?

Only thing that remains is to get a copy of each new Pokemon with it's HA and I feel like this will take a lot of time
But also kinda wondering if I should just farm 6 star raids for Ability Patch...maybe it will be faster than to hunt them individually
Or just...cheat...and use the bot that gives you 6IV Japanese Ditto with a Ability Patch :/

Yeah........this is not going too well
To begin with, there is a chance of about 15% that a raid Pokemon will be a Gen IX Pokemon that has a hidden ability
On top of that it has something like 30%? (not sure it was confirmed) chance to have it's HA
And of course the more Pokemon you catch the lower the chance to encounter a Pokemon you don't have
So...I only have 17 unique Gen IX Pokemon with HA and after checking every raid in the map...none of them was something I need :|

Maybe farming 6 Star Raids will be the better choice

RAIDS ARE SO SHITTY
Multiplayer -
-"You weren't able to join"
-Can check for new raids only once per minute
-Have no real control over which raids to choose, can't filter out 1 and 2 star raids
-Allies can be dumb. Someone picked a Garchomp against a Electric Tera Type but then changed to Gogoat with a Grass Tera. If you (probably) have a SE Tera Type Battle Ready why not use it?
-Even when all players are ready it still takes 40 seconds for the raid to start
-After check for new posting, only 3 raids show up???

Single Player/General-
-Battle freeze sometimes when choosing Cheer menu
-Attack animations sometimes don't play. Even the text doesn't show up
-Enemy's HP Bar might fill itself, even after it was depleted
-Not sure if "enemy can use 3000 moves before you get your turn" is a bug or feature but it sucks too

This is truly the worst. The thing that should be the easiest to fix and the thing I am most looking forward to it being fixed. I honestly have no idea how they shipped the game like this :/
Just look how much time it took to Talonflame to change to Ditto and how much time until every sprite in the box finished loading, and it wasn't even a full box

Anyway
I am finally done - did everything possible in single player (besides shiny hunt I guess)
Took less than two months which is a the least amount of time it took me to "complete" a mainline Pokemon game ever since Let's Go (which shouldn't count I guess?)
Total Playtime 198 hours

Of course will come back after HOME is out (and DLC) and will still do event raids so no rest for the wicked

Gotta love how the event raids are getting harder and harder :|

Not sure what the best strat is, but managed to solo it with Annihilape
Still needed like 10 tries because of Double Team bullshit

Slowbro proved to be useless here but some people managed to solo with it too

Solo with a Modest Vaporeon, with Covert Cloak as held. Acid Armor and Aqua Ring before the reset, then three Acid Armor, six Calm Mind, and Stored Power until either you win or Greninja's Double Team dodges enough that you're out of attacks. I didn't even set Vaporeon's tera type.

It took 3 tries but I solo'd with Slowbro as well.

you just have to plan to have to reset your buffs after your 4th move, so something like Iron Defense x3 + Slackoff x1 and then immediately start on the Iron Defense again. Just pepper in Slack off as you start to approach half health. Both of my two failures were the result of a Night Slash Crit followed by a Hydro Pump crit so there was no time to slack off once I crossed half health. But once I got to full buffs on attempt #3 it was GG. Two stored power to break shield, a slack off for safety and then a 3rd stored power to finish the job, didn't even need to Tera.

So I just learned about RaidCat (Steely Spirit Perrserker)
Considering how broken a team of 4 Raid Cats is...I wonder why online is not just full of them anywhere?

That's an old strat ported from Sword/Shield raids. It requires cooperation to work so it isn't useful in random raids.

I got my 6th badge. The class lessons are kinda neat, but also feel like there are way too many teachers with too many lessons. I didnt even need to use Tera against the leader either so part of it feels kinda pointless in a way and they made the gym leaders way too obvious with which Pokmon is gonna use it

The language teacher is so pointless

They are pretty easy to do alone if you build for some of the more common scenarios. Slowbro can 1 shot pretty much any physical attacker (after setting up). Iron Hands or similar belly drummer can do most others. Throw in a ditto against a ditto to get it stuck in a Transform loop.

Defeating your own offline raids should be easy. Joining other people's raids can be tough because all it takes is 1 person with a bad pokemon dying over and over to rapidly advance the timer and throw the raid. If you are that person then just pick something durable and spam Cheer/Heal or Cheer/Attack and set up defensive stats. For example I have a Light Screen blissey for any special attacks if I don't feel like i have a good counter so I can enable someone else to do the work without dying.

there are some things for completely finishing the courses

Biology: You'll get to the point where you can check in with your pokedex progress and eventually get Shiny Charm for 400/400
Math: 50x Rock Tera Shards
History: Location of the 4 Shrines (Legendaries) (though you'll still need to look up where the poles are all at)
Language: Galarian Meowth
Battle Studies: 10x Protein (meh)
Art: 50x Dragon Tera Shards
Nurse: Max Revives
Director: Big Nugget

Some of them are pretty worthless, but the Galarian Meowth is the only way to get one, and the Tera shards are important if you're looking for those typings.

The AI isnt much better, they keep sending in Intimidate pokemon against Defiant pokemon

They keep triggering it. I swear the game is sabotaging me on purpose to let him get OTKs on fully trained pokemon now.

at least the AI don't count to your deaths

Although if you don't know, you can reset your AI partners by challenging as a group. Challenging solo keeps them the same.

It should feel like theres more to do in this game with the Titans and Bases on top of the gym badges, but Im also just beating all those so fast it somehow feels like Im in the back half of Sword/Shield. Ive never cared about completing the Pokdex because its just a pain to constantly catch everything again or transfer stuff so I dont have a ton left.

Think I got 2 badges, 1 Titan, 1 or 2 Star bases, E4 and whatever legendary stuff is out there to catch.

As a Scarlet player, I was surprised by how fast I managed to get all the trade exclusive Pokemon with those trade codes
I thought I was just lucky, but yeah maybe a lot more people bought Violet
