May have been a shark at the very beginning of the clip when he turned around but the film quality is too poor to say definitively. The next part appears to show a foot splash and not a massive shark though.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/2/8/AABqZUAAEiSk.jpg
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/7/6/8/AABqZUAAEhvQ.jpg

If you pause the video and scroll through it frame by frame, you can see the head come into view much further than his foot can reach. Also, instantly after that, this shape mysteriously appears next to him:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/5/6/AABqZUAAEho0.jpg

I was watching a shark program last night and a tiger shark attacked something from the angle that it seems to have attacked this guy from and then it instantly flipped its body 90 degrees like this one seems to be.

I see youre still having your temper tantrum today. If you cant get along in this topic, nobodys forcing you to post here.

my allergies to bullshit and mental gymnastics are forcing me. if you don't like being called out for desperately pushing bullshit, you can block me and basically admit to it.

I would assume most people were looking at the kid and would have easily missed the sharks since they disappeared as quickly as they appeared.

yeah, that's the thing, assumptions are how people get to a point where they think they see a shark, too.

Why are people so reluctant to admit it could have been a Shark? We proved in this topic that sharks swarm cruise ships. There would be a ton of sharks in that water. So why is it so far fetched that one or more swam to him to investigate?

For me. the fact that he appears to freeze, then goes 180 degrees in the opposite direction is very suggestive. The body language is consistent with someone getting spooked and trying to flee. Circumstantial, but strong.

I dont think people are to reluctant to say it could have been a shark. Because it very well could have been But it is ridiculous to say it was clearly a shark when nothing is clear at all They are acting like they absolutely proved it was a shark with grainy footage just because they slowed it down At least, thats what I think Which makes sense You cant really make out anything for sure jn the video

Ghosts are not scientifically proven. Bigfoot are not verified, nor would I expect one swimming in the ocean

Flat earth if it existed, would be our planet. I don't see how the planet can attack a swimmer

A shark is an animal that we know exists, we know they live in that area, we know they swarm cruise ships, we know they sometimes taste humans. Especially if they are following the boat because they expect food and so they are in a hungry mood

nah. i'm just telling gullible people that they are in fact, gullible. because they need to hear it. you bought into this really hard and you're too embarrassed that you might be wrong to admit it. it's why tc is also as desperate as they are to push this.

it's like with flat earth -- at some point reality hits you, and you either double down or grow up.

they analyzed it and saw what everyone saw

everyone except anyone in the video, apparently.
Forreal, TC is acting like he bet his life savings on the possibility of him getting attacked by a shark. This is EXACTLY the kind of story that naive Gen Z kids and some gullible adults would jump onto, seeing a few frames of grainy footage and saying yup sharks got him.

Even though I hate to say it, the other guy who fell off the cruise ship fell in at about 4am, which is not a good time to be in the water off a cruise ship. Falling in from that height would be like ringing a dinner bell under the water.

Because most people that fall off boats aren't reported right away, so the boat can go quite far away or the sea the person fails into is extremely cold, so they can't survive really long. In this case it was reported almost immediately and the water is quite temperate. Plus it helps that that this occurred in a calm set of ocean, so the kid would have a reasonable time spotting the boat's lights and could swim towards it. Probably could see the boat a mile or two away if it was a clear night. If not, he could wait for the day to come & chopper. If the kid didn't get attacked by sharks he would've more likely than not survived the ordeal given the circumstances.

In the extended footage, you can see the land from where they are. You figure that he would have either been able to swim toward the beach or that his remains would have washed up on shore.

Unfortunately, the heat signature very clearly recognizes the fish-shaped thing that was in question. This also shows the attack from behind register in heat detail.

The head comes from beneath, out of range of where his foot could even reach. If theres still any question, the shape flips to the left and shows a very clear shark outline with a heat signature.

This does make it more apparent, but also it's pretty damn apparent just by listening to the people's reactions. They immediately go from laughing about "this kid jump off the boat!" to a woman literally screaming and people going "oh shit, oh fuck!" simultaneously with him spotting the shark.

How people are being so dense and still saying "it likely wasn't a shark attack" with all of the evidence absent of a shark jumping into the air like it's fucking Shark Week is beyond me.

Him being overboard already warrants an "oh shit oh fuck" response. Even if there were no sharks he'd likely die from drowning.

There's drunk idiots and there's some people quickly figuring out how dire it actually is.

I'm not saying what happened to him either way because I don't know. But even if he was killed by sharks I don't think the people on that boat knew. They saw him and then they didn't. People would probably yell shark if they thought they saw one.

I completely agree. Most of the people who are saying that arent even looking at the evidence. Its sucks, but this board is full of contrarians. The voices were very telling, like you said. The panic started to die down for a brief moment, but then they suddenly freaked out like 10x harder. The last video I posted was pretty much the deciding factor for me.

oh, you mean the way nobody says anything about the small army of sharks that are apparently super easy to spot on forums but not in person?

like, if you need to run footage through some weird LUT to make it look like what you want, you're lying to yourself and others. those aren't heat signatures -- you're naive.

The last video I posted was pretty much the deciding factor for me.

I feel bad that it happened, but its really shocking. This shot shows the head and the dorsal fin, which is probably a good 6-7 feet apart, indicating that it could have been 12-15 feet.
