How would one play 1969 on PC

There's a PC client you can get on the official website ( https://re1999.bluepoch.com/ ) or you can use an Android emulator like Bluestacks, LDPlayer, or Nox.

So a much lower thresold of Genshin's accursed gacha pity with higher base rate. That's interesting, usually the devs would keep that BS 0.6% rate for the highest rarity untouched.

I've heard of it before, probably from House MD. There's also a monster in MH Rise called Somnacanth who puts you to sleep.

Though in retrospect, it makes the Aurora Somnacanth not make a whole lot of sense since it loses its ability to put ppl to sleep. Unless making things so cold they fall asleep is the intended interpretation

Still not as good as PGR's gacha, in my opinion. Sure, PGR has a 0.5% rate per pull but a 100% guaranteed pity in 60 pulls with the non-floating pity banner. For debut characters and anniversary, you also always get the character you want (70% on the rotating banners). At that point, you know exactly how much a character costs and are just gambling for the chance of a discount.

And I don't even need to mention GFL's gacha (or Azur Lane's, for that matter) but, let's be honest, we're never going to see a gacha like that in another game again. lol

That said, Reverse: 1999's gacha isn't too bad in my book. You seem to get a decent amount of currency, even as a F2P and the rates and pity are fairly reasonable. That's just how I see it though. It's also slightly better than Arknights' gacha because you get the "guaranteed to get the character after the spook" feature instead of always taking the coin flip.

I hate to kneejerk but... is it me or is Reverse 1999 giving me serious Alchemy Star vibes? Depends on how ambitious their side story events are I guess, cuz I always thought that, as well as all of their art, were their strongest suits.

Really liking all the art, the dialogue doesn't feel like shit, the world is confusing but not in the similar sense of the usual Arknight/GFL type lore overdump. The things that are happening make a lot more sense, perhaps due to better depiction of the events through writing and art. So far there are some witches persecuted throughout history, and time is moving backwards... though not entirely clear as to how most of the events are flowing forwards yet.

Anyways, it's actually a pretty promising start, really like the combat, though I wonder if they might get old too quick or they'll introduce more customization options after a while.

Also I pulled Regulus in the first pull, who is pretty much all I wanted

Wtf... I think Reverse 1999 might actually have a legitimate writer. The protagonist, Vertin, not being a usable character and not being a self-insert while being a strong presence in the story is an excellent choice. She has a lot more personality and edge than it seems on the surface, and it's clear she's more of a victim to the situation.

All of the early parts of Ch 2 is genuinely masterfully written. There's a bit of a humor despite the terror of the situation. The oujo-sama character whose name briefly escapes me kept confusing the name of the medicine, and it gradually gets more and more further away from the initial misunderstanding, like it becomes Coco Banana at one point.

The peak of the writing, thus far, happens in a conversation between Vertin and the sexy plant lady, where the plant lady's kept an extinct Welsh tree branch, hopefully I'm not getting details too incorrect. It was supposed to be an undying tree that encourages the ghosts of the recently deceased to pass on quickly. They start talking about the metaphorical significance of its namesake and existence, and how ironic that it went extinct due to massive forest fires.

Then Vertin says something beautiful about the significance of having lived and died, that it shouldn't be preserved as a shadow of its former self in a stasis but allowed to die. It showed that the plant lady didn't consider death of things as meaningless as she acted, that her denial is what keeps the tree in stasis. As she learns her mistake, she abandons the tree branch and allows it to finally rest, but the tree, living up to its namesake, shows green-ness beneath the dead surface.

Throughout the whole thing, a formerly unshakeable big villain character keeps telling Vertin to shut up, being shook for the first time on-screen. Not understanding that Vertin has already done the damage and sowed the seed of doubt on the plant lady, he's surprised the plant lady abandoned the branch she was treasuring so willingly.

A lot of subtlety happens there that can't really be explained without a bunch of context. I can't spoil everything but basically it was a pretty desperate situation, and Vertin kinda talk-no-jutsu's a potential ally in a den of villains.

The storm and reverse time mechanics of the world still isn't explained closely quite yet I think. If all these people are gonna get wiped from existence after the storm anyways, it doesn't seem worth going through all the trouble to help these doomed people. But that also probably comes back to the tree conversation, that maybe even in their brief existence before the storm, they're worth saving.

Anyways, aside from all this, I'm also just impressed by how much European/American culture they reference. IIRC, all the characters are named after some art piece as well. I'd try to suggest that Reverse 1999 pull off the reference better than Takt Op gacha did their music pieces. Takt Op didn't quite nail the Vivaldi Four Seasons imo, since Vivaldi lived in a farmland with accelerated seasons.

I didn't expect to be this invested because I knew almost nothing about it, but I'm gonna stick with it, see how it handles future content/events. I get that good game smell that I almost never get in gachas

Damn Reverse 1999 tutorial is so good at showing you how complex some of their mechanics can get.

Yeah forget any concerns about complexity. There's a lot here, and you don't necessarily need to use them all. But they exist, and surely they'll have fights where outplaying the AI will play a pretty big role.

Pulled a pretty looking sadistic doctor dude for my 2nd 6*. I really wanted to ojou-sama char, but oh well

He's really good. AOE heal/buff def, and a def down debuff on the enemy to boot, stun in his ultimate.

I do wonder if they'll do really annoying omni-resistant shit though. Alchemy Star's midway through life received a lot of criticism for that, cuz you couldn't use a lot of the cool mechanics

Also if you guys haven't realized, Sonetto is insanely powerful and given for free to start with Limit Break items given throughout story.

Well it took a while, but I finally got Eternity. And I must say that I love her damage output :3

There's a high chance it's an intended joke. The whole gruff narrator, going on and on about abstract things that nevertheless actually do explain some of why the side characters are able to do the things they do or why they're even there in that situation, is actually a Disco Elysium reference.

This is up there though. I always liked Counter;Side and Guardian Tales in terms of gacha writing, AS had very great peaks and had Carleen, the best gacha girl for me still, and this is going up there. It's better than AS cuz AS early story is pretty mediocre. GT also kinda gets lost in its humor and only truly picks up its story at Ch 9 anyways. CS has great pacing though and isn't too confusing, very charming and mature.

It's gonna be an internal battle for me, seeing if CS is overall better written or R1999, but I'm loving it. I guess gacha game teams roll the gacha, so to speak, when getting their writers.

Also most of my DPS are supportive except for the Tsundere French. I'm actually struggling to beat stages that recommend higher lvls. It doesn't seem like there's some stupid lower lvls nerf system, thankfully. It gives me AS vibes in terms of progression, even down to the Ascension mechanics and all. Thankfully though, less requirement to build a full team of diff elements. Not sure why the reserve system is there, cuz when usually if one guy dies, other guys are probably pretty fucked too

GTs story has gotten pretty fucking crazy. Season 2 will be wrapping up later this year and the lead up to it has been insane. The last chapter has got everyone in shock.

Yep, I've had to use the candy to restore several times in order to farm the resource stages.

It's a bit of a problem but I got a lot of candies left and not much free time. I think once we hit max lvl, it'll be a non-issue, as it often is with this type of game. The game's progression, even down to the stamina distribution, is very similar to AS' so it should be the case.

AS was holding another poll to see which char should get a skin. Last time the top 4 got an idol group style skin event. Fleur cleared the poll, or was it Azure? In the end the order of the top 4 didn't really matter.

This time around, China's basically the leading audience as their global fanbase is kinda dwindling or more of the same batch of people who probably can't quit the game. China haven't had the game for 6 months quite yet I think, so they're still in the honeymoon phase, where Carleen takes a bit of a center stage. She's badass, caring, and more flirty with Navi than Vice, while still maintaining the cold face, so you know, I get it. She also had what was supposedly the best ongoing plot line where it delves into her family history. She's currently 2nd in the poll, and ppl are getting worried

They're worried cuz she has like 3 skins, and 2 of them are the fancier skins. That's 1 more than the 2nd most quantity of skins, which is on Vice. If she wins, she will clear the 2nd most skin char by 2 whole skins, while a little less than half the cast still doesn't even have a single skin.

So I think people kinda riled up a campaign to get one of the freely obtainable Legendary Aurorians to get a skin, and now Regal is winning. He's by far the best and still maintained top tier status, has a sad backstory, and is a dude. I swear the current AS subreddit has more girls than guys nowadays

What determines how many/which characters get healed by the auto-revive Abundance path thing in the Simulated Universe? Sometimes it revives three, but this time it only did one. Since deer boss thing seems to like just doing a party wipe and all, I like to have that charged so I can just take it and revive. I kinda assumed it was supposed to revive everyone, but that's obviously not the case.

Has anyone heard about Mech Armada: Galactic Warfare? It looks like an idle Gundam game, but I'm like 90% certain it's a knockoff. I mean not having Gundam in the title is pretty odd, plus it's made by YKIDS LIMITED. I'm not sure if Bandai Namco has the rights to Gundam stuff here, but I've just never heard of that other company, and most Gundam stuff I see are from Bandai.

Revue Starlight ReLIVE just gave everyone 10,000 star gems (over 3 entire 10-pulls worth) for free for the 4.5 year anniversary. Outside of pre-registration launch bonuses or "sorry we're shutting down the server soon so pull to your heart's content while the game is still alive" gifts, this is the biggest single-day login gift of raw gacha currency that I've ever seen in a gacha game. Of course, this login bonus comes with the release of the first batch of cost 26 stage girls, which are another level of powercreep for PvP... but I don't play PvP so I don't care about that. I'll just take this 10,000 star gems and keep saving for the next new version of best girl Banana.

Supposedly Sotheby in R1999 gets good one day because she hard enables one of the best carries in the game. She's not that good right now per se, but still plenty usable as a healer and decent DPS against any non-debuff resistant bosses.

Got too curious and looked up some tier list topics. The only great character I have is the red healer dude, which I agree with cuz he's helped me beat some stages underleveled.

Regulus original look is cute and cool, but this one's just straight up cute. I love it

Also I play on jp voice, but seems the english va was done simultaneous to the original script, which is why some of it feels a bit poorly translated as it was done by the original team? I'm a bit afraid to go into the eng va and finding it grating that it's awkwardly written. From a little I hear of it, I love Vertin's VA... I guess I'll think about it. Supposedly the French is pretty accurate

The EN voice acting is largely pretty good, script issues aside. Good use of accents where appropriate, but the odd grammar at times does hamper them sadly.

Also, it seems Bkornblume is a Stasi member. Which is uh... not great.

Red Hood is mid as hell. Alice, a launch basic character, outclasses her in terms of damage. In terms of support she isn't even close to viable. What was she made for?

I don't play the game, but I've been watching the Arknights anime and it's been really good this season. I always heard that the story was one of the best things about Arknights, and this anime is really selling me on that. Still not gonna play it though.

Sorry Tyranthraxus, I gave in and tried that dollar store Gundam game. Whats worse is that its surprisingly fun. They give you my favorite boy Wing Zero Custom on your first pull, youre guaranteed to get a 5 star every 30 pulls, it has good idle rewards, a free 10 pull every day for the first 10 days of each server, and it seems like they give you a 5 star at the end of every chapter. The most recent one got me my second most wanted unit behind WZC, the 00 Qan[t] or however the hell that weirdass name is spelled. I just know its pronounced double oh quanta.

A neat little thing is they have a puzzle kinda thing, where you assemble the Gundam to get it.

Dont worry though, I wont be giving them a dime. Im just waiting until that real Gundam game comes out. Or GFL 2, or Endfield.

But yeah, just out of principle I dont spend money in games that are obvious ripoffs. Sometimes theyre funny to see like the common ones that steal a bunch of Jump IPs, but they never have anything worth sticking around for.

Its only day two though, so Im still in the honeymoon phase. Ill see if they have something horrible up their sleeve, like when I found out that King of Fighters game was actually one of those games where you have to defend your base from other players attacks. They hid that behind hours and hours of gameplay, and I was pissed that I wasted so much time on a game that has one of my most hated mechanics >:(

Yeah, Mech Armada is an idle game, but it has a bunch of different modes and customization options so the blow from its lack of gameplay is softened. But the main thing is that it has a decent spread of suits from different series. Although realistically the number is actually small when you consider all the source material they have to pull from, at least they have my favorites like WZC, Quanta, Strike Freedom, Heavyarms Custom, and Awakened Unicorn.

Keep in mind that I'm also probably not going to keep playing it for long. I've played tons of idle games and they're playable for maybe a few months at best, then I just get bored and look for something that I can actually control. I'm currently about 1 1/2 months into Omniheroes, another idle game. They were special because they actually made good on the 777 summons stuff you always see in ads, not once, but TWICE. Unfortunately I hit a wall and now I'm sort of playing it for the sake of playing. Also boobas.

The amount of flawed gameplay I'm willing to overlook is directly proportional to how much I like the characters lol. Like to be honest I'm not really having much fun with HSR or Epic Seven anymore, but Kafka and Jingliu keep me playing Honkai, and Jack-O alone keeps me playing E7. Although I can see myself dropping HSR eventually, because of the shitty gacha and how you can't skip dialogue. At the very least in E7 you don't have to pull dupes because there's an item for that, and you get a fairly generous amount of skystones which can be stretched even further by refreshing the shop for bookmarks.

So what's going on with Space Leaper, if anyone here is still keeping up with that? Got the urge to give Cocoon another try recently just to find out it's been rebooted. I've read that the reboot is supposed to be on the google play store but I can't find it. Is that game just not a thing anymore on android or something?
