Oh shit, and apparently there was a huge problem with the Girls Frontline 2 CBT. If you installed it to any place other than the default and deleted it, it would also wipe all the other files in that directory

What was happened was if it's installed in the root directory (like C:), and not inside a folder (like C:/xxxx/...), and something about using the game's installer. And even then it's almost like a work purposefully done by Sunborn haters.

Though MICA was quick to act.

Who in their right mind would install games in the root directory? Even Windows doesn't. I'm not computer savvy but I know it's stupid.

Ended up pulling a 2nd of the Coral Mimic in Star Lusts, unlocked her lood scene, which was in the A not the V, if you catch my drift. It was kinda weird but also had lore, which is that she's a monster who takes the ideal shape of the person she wants to impress.

UR is a pretty big buff... she's stronger than my DPS atm so I swapped all my eq to her. Now I'm starting to S++ stages

I haven't gotten any dupes yet, so I haven't gotten any girls to UR to unlock any lewd scenes. But it turns out that pulling a character's signature weapon is even more of a buff than the stat increase from an upgrade to UR, and I got really lucky and managed to pull Allee's signature weapon. Now she can move around while using her special move instead of being locked in place by the sheer size of her big fuckoff laser beam.

Locking useful abilities like that behind signature weapons that need to be pulled separately (especially when they eventually start releasing limited characters that will likely also have limited signature weapons) feels like a pretty crappy move for a gacha game. If this game had PvP or ranked modes, that would probably be a deal-breaker for a lot of people because it would make things even more pay-to-win. But thankfully, this game only has PvE content so there's no pay-to-win aspect, and most of the character kits are good enough to still do pretty well without them.

Btw, it's just like other games with artificial progression gating. Your team's avg lvl plays into how much dmg you take. So just make sure to lvl all 3 units

Yep, I've been doing that. I have my Mia, Allee, and Astraea all at level 30 right now. The fact that both of my good attackers are the same attribute makes certain stages annoying, so I might raise the octopus mimic girl as a fourth option since the story gave me character shards to upgrade her from SR to SSR.

GFL2 is being review bombed in China because of slow gameplay, bad gacha, and THE DOLLS HAVING RELATIONS WITH NPCS lol. First two reasons are pretty standard complaints against any gacha, and fairly understandable (although isnt it a turn-based game so its not exactly going to have fast gameplay?). But when some nerds are angry someone has stolen their waifu

Also someone said the RNG for equipment grinding is horrible, like worse than artifact grinding in Genshin. No idea how bad that is, and its one dudes anecdote on YouTube though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Im still excited for its launch though. Probably my most anticipated game of the year. Or is it coming out this year?

Well, I'm not sure how XCOM does it, but turn-based like that is always slow? OG GFL is also slow, so...

And yeah, the third reason is pretty stupid, but Type 95 (one of the 'culprit' of that reason) is pretty high tier on 'national waifu' list for China, I guess...

However, it is true that 'bad gacha' is quite a downfall from a series known as 'too F2P for their own good'. MICA definitely wants to make money. The problem is that MICA chooses to copy the worst gacha model, Genshin's.

I wish more games would drop that, or at least have items that let you alter gear stats to make the grind less tedious. Like E7 has an item that lets you change a substat, but a piece of gear can only have one altered substat at a time. Plus you need to pray the right substats level up, and the item that lets you reset gear levels is rare as fuck :<

Well, I'm sure you know how godsend is Project Neural Cloud allowing junk algorithms to be used as reroll fodder. You just need to get that right main stat (which can still take a while) but once you do, you can choke it full of fodders (depending on your luck) to reroll the substat.

Which, once again, makes GFL2's decisions seem backwards. Oh, they also somehow make the gacha even worse than Genshin's.

Yeah GFL was slow, but I think gachas have been leaning towards faster dailies and simpler gameplay. I feel like Mica hadn't quite adjusted very well to the current landscape.

PNC is pretty fast though, which is standard of today's gacha. GFL is always be the Kancolle clone (although thanks to the newest client you can do dailies in 5-10 minutes, in line with today gacha standard).

Ah, you haven't reached the 'fun'.
Rerolling algorithms is the 'endgame'.

GFL daily was fast. Just that when you had to set up to get a good doll team skeleton back in the days, you ran 1-2 mission over and over just all day.

In other news, I forgot just how time consuming playing Duel Links could be... it's still the more fun singleplayer TCG experience out there though honestly

Liter has competition now with Dorothy, but that's a Pilgrim.

There are other units who can repair cover as well, so she's not monopolizing that anymore, but she's still among the best Burst 1s.

Luna and Arisa were there near release. In WF, you have to own pretty much every 3-4*s in the game. They're often used on cores to extremely specific teams.

Luna gets used a lot on coffin teams, but coffin teams aren't considered that good long term wise. They can beat some of the harder vital contents in the mid-late game. Most new players aren't gonna get that far.

The meta changes often though so I don't really know anymore. Ppl don't play it much anymore because it takes way too much time-gated equipments and units to beat much of anything, and it's also in maintenance mode in JP, which is 2 years ahead

I find it amazing that after over 3 1/2 years, Lord of Heroes still has the most dogshit PvP idea ever: units can't be used to attack if they're on your defense team. And there's not even an option to save formations to swap units between offense and defensive teams; you have to manually change them every single time.

It's been a couple of weeks since I installed Star Lusts, and it still feels weird to be playing a hentai game for basically everything except the hentai stuff. I've unlocked two lewd scenes and haven't even bothered to watch them yet because I'm too focused on the game itself. The shoot-em-up gameplay in this game is genuinely really fun, especially since you bring three girls with different weapons and skills to each stage and can swap between them on the fly. It sucks that some stages are gated off by your team's levels being too low, but stages that are around or slightly below your team's levels feel fantastic to play. Plus, if you're short on time or just don't feel like playing on a certain day, you can sweep through all of your dailies in like 5 minutes, which is really fast compared to some other gacha games I've played.

So yeah, Star Lusts is really good if you like bullet hell games like Gradius or Touhou and are fine with (or actively enjoy) the extra lewdness on the side.
