They're so good, also check out The Bad Batch as well since that's another really good animated series. I'd probably skip Resistance though, it's not nearly as good as the others.

I watched through these for the first time recently. I didnt much care for the first half of TCW, but certainly enjoyed the latter.

Rebels was surprisingly fun. Chopper rules.

Ill have to find the link but theres a crazy watch order for The Clone Wars. Do not watch them in the order they are on Disney+.

Its annoying but its worth it because they actually do link up in the correct order. It looks like its really only an issue for the first three seasons.

Interesting, teen Ahsoka is on par with Anakin in terms of force prowess? She was able to detect that lost Jedi in space and he was ready to call it quits.

I know hes considered to be the chosen one, but their duel later was very close too

Damn her character is so different right now, but I know shes a teen in this and hasnt gone through all the traumatic shit that makes her more stoic in Ahsoka

There's an episode (or set of) in season 2 I think where it creates a dynamic shift in how she is.

Then combine that with her experiences at the hands of the Jedi and it creates compelling, engaging character growth

Yeah it felt weird to me when the show first premiered that they gave Anakin a padawan but I forgive them because Ahsoka ends up being a top-tier character.

So Anakins eye is already scarred in S1. I read that Ventress did it

To be fair, they needed as many Jedi in the war as possible.

Additionally, while maybe less so at the time Ahsoka was put under his teachings, Anakin was widely known as the effective Hero of the Republic. If anyone could juggle the task of being a public hero and a Master, it was the Chosen One

That might have happened in the Genndy Tartakovsky micro-series. I don't remember.

It's always listed separately and it had a theatrical release.

It's functionally one of the story arcs that are common in the series.

That happened in Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars series. While TCW (CGI) was by all accounts made with the idea that it wasn't beholden to the old expanded universe, it was also meant to fill in the time gaps in the 2D series. Hence why many of the characters are basically 3D renderings of their character designs in Tartakovsky's series.

edit: but as far as George was concerned, he didn't care. He deliberately left it up to others to fill in the reason for why Anakin has the scar; at one point he even said that he may as well have gotten it while falling in a bathtub.

Yeah, there is some weird timeline shenanigans in that Filoni's Clone Wars mostly follows up on Tartakovsky's microseries. You can mostly sat that the it goes Tartakovsky's then the Clone Wars movie and then Filoni's Clone Wars series, with the only real problem at that point is the final episode of Tartakovsky's also lead directly in Revenge of the Sith, but if you ignore that half of the episode it works fine as a precursor to all of Filoni's wrok.

Love The Clone Wars. Always have from the start too, with the pilot movie.

Make sure you watch The Bad Batch right after Clone Wars. There are two seasons now and theyre wrapping up next year with a third season. Im totally enamored with that show, its so freaking good.

Legends and canon? Isnt all of cgi clone wars canon?

CGI Clone Wars is both... technically.

S1-6 is a part of both continuities. S7 is canon-exclusive, not a part of Legends, per LucasFilm staff.

Its so cool watching this and Ahsoka at the same time, both for the first time. Im sure having watched before would provide more backstory,

I kinda figure that Ahsoka is similar to Obi-Wan. On paper they're not overall anything special but thanks to dealing with a lot of shit constantly, overcoming it, learning from it and keeping a level head and heart they end up being extremely capable.

Which honestly makes them much better than the characters who are strong in the Force just because.

I'm getting near the end of Rebels and I overall enjoyed it. I found Clone Wars a bit hard to get through sometimes. It's a pretty inconsistent show but you'll know immediately when you're in a good run of episodes.

Rebels is consistently better and I'm finding it an easier watch.

One of the things I found that I really enjoyed about TCW is you realize just how deeply flawed The Republic's entire system of governance is. To a degree it deserved to fall.
