V is such a buggy, untested mess that some people can't even complete

Calwings 09/18/23 8:33:43 PM #1:	a certain side quest in the DLC because the game is such a buggy, untested mess. https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonScarletViolet/comments/16hyzjn/bug_kitakami_ogre_clan_completion_doesnt_proc/ https://twitter.com/Sibuna_Switch/status/1703757415617835450 The game's data somehow only has enough memory to track up to 300 non-story trainers defeated, but (as of the release of the new Teal Mask DLC) there are now more than 300 such trainers in the game. So if you've already defeated 300 of these trainers and beat another one, the game simply won't register that you defeated them because there's no room in the data for it to do that. They'll just stay there as if you never defeated them, waiting to be battled again. This means that the Ogre Clan side quest in the Teal Mask DLC can be rendered impossible to complete (unless you're willing to start an entirely new save file) if you defeated enough trainers beforehand, because you can't fight the clan master until you beat all of the disciples out in the field, but the disciples won't register as defeated due to this bug if you're at the cap of 300 defeated trainers already. Even the blackbox trainers sucked. But at the same time, if S/V is a sign of how future games will be made on a technical sense, then I don't know if I want to keep supporting the games if that's the path they're going in. It also doesn't help that I didn't even bother doing my usual breeding/optimizing for Pokemon, mainly due to the lack of the Battle Tower or similar but also because of the game's issues. Gen 6 was good, but X/Y had tons of missed potential due to Gamefreak trying to handle too many other non-Pokemon projects at once and Z being cancelled as a result. OR/AS are also (IMO) really underrated and the last truly great mainline Pokemon games. Gen 7 was where things started going downhill, and it's only gotten worse with every game since. The Pokemon franchise will never ever be good again unless they either slow down the release schedule or Gamefreak hires a lot more people to work on the games.
