Damn. Sneasler is genuinely one of the best Pokemon in this trash generation.

I saw someone once compare Sneasler to a Sonic OC, and that forever ruined it for me.

Sneasler is mostly alright. I think it could do with being 20% less lanky. It isn't as if the line isn't bipedal to begin with, but gurl you're so LONG.

NFUN (9) - I love the total made-up nonsense explanations of all of the chimeras in their pokedex entries. Absolutely shameless
andylt (23) - Honestly this one would work as a non-abomination if it had a middle section to its body. Imagine it sprinting towards you! The -zolt head is my fav of the 4 fossil parts, as much as I understand how a complete fossil poke would ruin the point of them I'd like to see a full electric dino.
Luster Soldier (28) - Out of all the Gen 8 fossil Pokemon, this is the only one that actually looks somewhat normal. The other 3 look a lot more awkward.
Inviso (36) - I don't care much for the fossils this gen, but Dracozolt has the best design in my opinion, however stupid it may look.
Bane_Of_Despair (52) - Same with Arcozolt, this one gets slightly higher for the bottom half being cooler and a Dragon type. But once again, it's so happy to be alive again!
Ermine (63) - Scientists were paid money in the Pokemon Universe to create these monstrosities. Good to know that I could become a scientist in that world if I'm a fucking moron!

At least the best fossil won.

Phew, finally Sneasler is out. I'm glad it was rightfully the bottom of the Arceus evolutions.

But now let's please drop my 96.

Sneasler can go in the pile with Indeedee where I didn't even know that it was disliked. I thought that people who didn't rank them highly would just put them in a neutral middle ranking.

I think with how I ranked the Zolts, it's not that I dislike this concept as much as I really really like the Zolts guy's little face. I hope to see versions of these fossils as they're "meant" to be in the future, even though I'm not as hard on them (as they are) as some people happen to be (reminder, the lower half of rankings is more "meh" than "oh god no run away"

Well it was about time one of my top ten gets yeeted. God I love this doofy possessed teapot. It's so cute! Great colour scheme and I love how this little lad is peeking out. Also ghost is my favourite type! I'm just surprised I wasn't the one who had this ranked the highest! Hi Lefty, you aight.

The consensus seems more that most of the Hisuian forms aren't great, but most of the new evolutions are pretty good.

I hope that's the consensus, anyway, because most of the new evolutions are pretty good.

It has design vibes similar to Gardevoir as a feminine humanoid Pokemon, while also having the exact same typing. Sure enough, I was right. On one rule 34 site I check out, Hatterene has 1424 pictures right now, which is somewhat impressive for a humanoid Pokemon that wasn't expected to have as much support in the furry community. However, it finds itself outclassed by Cinderace with 2646 pictures since it has more appeal among furries. Gardevoir's rule 34 popularity was a product of its time, as it came into existence back in 2002 when the furry community was a very niche thing. Now, the furry community has evolved to the point where it is able to dictate which Pokemon get the most rule 34 pictures. Most artists who do Pokemon rule 34 tend to specialize in either the Pokemon themselves (mainly furry artists) or the human characters. Not many artists do both the Pokemon and the human characters.
hotdogturtle (7) - Not only is it a good Pokemon in its own right, but it's also one of the most fun names to say and to type.
Inviso (28) - It's strong in combat, but I feel like Gardevoir does Psychic/Fairy better, and it's faster, too.
PrinceOfKoopas (30) - Creepy hat.
Paratroopa1 (41) - oh look, trans girls have yet another icon
andylt (68) - Pleasant colouring, but I don't understand what this line is trying to do. The hat gimmick is not interesting. Is this line in S/V? I wonder how they'd look with the fancy hats everyone gets in those games.

PrinceOfKoopas (79) - It's kinda gross if you look at it closely.
hotdogturtle (80) - I still hate how this thing looks like a redrawn Aggron.

Hatterene is such a miss for me. I'm usually all about cute-but-creepy but it's not a point in your favor when your mid evolution trumps you in every way design wise (see, for reference, Gothita versus Gothitelle)

Kind of surprised Hatterene is so low. Especially below Grimmsnarl. I've always felt like she was a pretty popular mon from this generation. I think what's throwing me off is the placement besides Polteageist, which I am shocked didn't drop sooner. Anyway this scary lady is fine. I like how outwardly she's kind of the Gardevoir archetype, but she's also someone who will literally beat the shit out of you if you don't got good vibes? Hilarious.

I'm still annoyed at what a waste of potential Coalossal is. And then they do yet another bulky rock golem in gen 9! But at least that one has some salty uniqueness to it.

Coalossal was difficult for me to rank because I think it looks better than Carkol as a standalone design, but on the other hand it doesn't fit the line at all. At least Carkol has wheels!

I believe we have 9 multi-stage lines still unbroken!

Oh hey, it's the person with the Hatterene name. I wanted to take that name during the Sword/Shield leak period, but I was around an hour late, so I had to settle for this name instead.

Nickit and Thievul both still being in kinda surprise me ngl.

Sinistea and Polteageist's gimmick kinda annoys me since it's hard to check at a glance and doesn't really matter anywhere else. Unlike Spinda's pattern, which also doesn't matter but you can see right away.

The -zolt heads are my favorite too and I still have hope they'll be in complete form one day. But if not, the fan arts are there.

Aww Hatterene dropped :( I love its design, its dex entry is hilariously unhinged, and its typing is decent.

Sneaseler - I hated it when it was first revealed. Weavile is one of my all time favourite Pokemon, so I was *pissed* that the devs decided to replace it with a weird, lanky, gross-colored version of it. But... I still see some of the things I like about Weavile in this, so it's grown on me enough that I now think it's quite decent. It'll never be Weavile, but on its own, it's 'aight. Honestly might grow to like it more yet.

Dracozolt - Hate it just as much conceptually as the others, but this particular design masks the inhumanity of it waaay better than the other ones. If you don't look at it too closely, you can almost picture this as just an ordinary creature with a huge hind quarter. I think I overrated this a bit, but it's still by far the best of the 4 fossils imo. I like dinosaurs a lot, so this manages to be one of the better of the gen for me.

Poltegeist - Noticable improvement over its pre-evo for me. I like the little tea spirit hiding inside of a tea pot a lot more than the tea cup itself having a face stuck on it. It's kinda cute how it peeks out, and how it has little feet dangling down. Not too bad as far as objectmons go.

Hatterene - Slightly underrated this I think. It's quite a competent Gardevoir expy. Just pleasent to look at. Not something I really want on my team, but I don't mind it showing up. Did this really need to become an archetype, though? Especially when so far none of them have come close to being as good or popular as Gardevoir itself?

Coalossal - Finally. How did Carkoal do so much worse than this? To me, they're very similar in theme and appearance, and I dislike both for the same reasons, so I struggle to rationalize that there's such a big difference in placement.

There's 4 pokemon still in which I firmly dislike. My #94 (especially), #85, #76, #73. But the other 46 range from "ok" and up, so my comments should be mostly more positive from here.

Other than my write-up of course, this is like the second best one for Hatterene. And I'd certainly agree with Hatterene's color scheme being very similar to the trans flag.

I'm also very disappointed Para didn't have Hatterene higher.

Gardevoir's rise to rule 34 success initially wasn't due to furries, but it getting popular may have then contributed to some furries doing their own artwork of Gardevoir.
