The establishment is still very much pro-Israel though.

If enough of the common people in countries like the US and UK become anti Israel, eventually the leaders will have to stop supporting Israel. If they want to be re elected. They only do it now because many people still defend Israel. But I think pro Palestine will become more and more of the population as time goes on. Younger people tend to support Palestine over Israel

When it comes to voting day, people will be more concerned about what's happening in their country - for example the cost of living crisis. People won't care about the policy of the party regarding a country a thousand miles away when they're struggling to feed their own kids.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that his government opposed any temporary ceasefire in Gaza unless Hamas freed all the hostages it holds.
He also said that it would continue to block fuel from entering Gaza.

The Israeli military on Friday said 241 hostages are believed to have been taken by Hamas on October 7.

Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, called in a speech Friday for people to "work day and night" to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, saying it is Hezbollah's "primary goal."
Nasrallah said the powerful Iran-backed Lebanese paramilitary group's secondary goal is for Hamas to emerge "victorious" in Gaza.
He also described the war as a "turning point."
"The victory of Gaza means a victory for Palestine, for Jerusalem, for Aqsa and the Holy Sepulcher and all the neighboring countries," Nasrallah said.
Warning of a new front: Nasrallah went on to say Hezbollah has been in an "unprecedented battle" with Israel on the Israel-Lebanon border since October 8, adding that "the possibility of the Lebanese front escalating into broad battle is a realistic option."
"Israel should take this into account," he said in his speech.
Some background: Hezbollah is an Iran-backed Islamist movement with one of the most powerful paramilitary forces in the Middle East. The group, which has its main base on the Israel-Lebanon border, could become a wildcard player in the Hamas-Israel war and spark a wider regional conflict.
Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in tit-for-tat skirmishes across the border in northern Israel and southern Lebanon since the war began. The Lebanese group has voiced support for Hamas' cause but not yet directly intervened on its behalf, linking its clashes with Israel to attacks on Lebanese soil.

I wouldn't be surprised if Israel tries to annex the Jordan Valley. They've had renewed interest over the past few years. Netanyahu is dead set on denying Palestinians access to the Jordan River and Dead Sea and maybe give them at most a mile of coastline to use near Jericho.

I recall hearing about a video going around that's claiming Gazans were faking injuries and deaths to inflate the tolls, but that was actually propaganda and the people in the video were merely actors for a Halloween shoot. Not acting dead to inflate toll numbers.

Have you seen the images of that ambulance? That Mercedes with the number 1242 and the horse? That can't be some airstrike damage, and even the gaza authorities claim that the people inside are unhurt.

A littler earlier we said we'd seen reports of a blast outside Gaza City's largest hospital, Al-Shifa.
BBC Verify has now verified a number of videos, showing badly injured people lying outside the hospital in the street.
The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says a convoy of ambulances was hit by Israeli strikes at the gate of the hospital. The Israeli military is cited by Reuters news agency as saying it's looking into the incident.

BBC Verify has studied three videos - one of which is very graphic - and established that they were filmed outside Al-Shifa and were uploaded this afternoon. In one video, there are people filmed lying in pools of blood in the road next to vehicles - some are severely injured and some are not moving.

Across the three videos, we counted around 20 injured or possibly dead people. There is no crater visible in the footage we've seen so far, and no debris or shrapnel visible.

There's damage to the front of an ambulance and some cars on the road have smashed windows. BBC Verify is showing the footage to weapons experts and asking them for their assessment of what may have caused this.

Israel understands this. It plans to kill or displace the majority of Palestinians by the time that would be an issue, why do you think they are going so hard this time around. Including fucking with the West Bank, which had nothing to do with this attack.

Perhaps Biden did the right thing backing Israel 100%. The last few weeks he has faltered after each war crime. At some point, he can pull the trigger and say, enough is enough. This is similar to when he worked for bipartisanship until Republicans displayed to America that they had no intention of doing it, so Dems went ahead and passed a bunch of bills without Republican support and he could sit back and say he tried.

Of course, Biden could simply be blinded by allegiance here.

We keep telling Israel that they have days or weeks not months to do this and shape up. Israel doesn't seem to care.

Whenever the US would bomb a wedding or civilian target, it was almost always by accident. Not a deliberate calculation that the loss of life would be worth it to get a prime target. And even in the edge cases where the US went down that path and terrorist families did end up dying, it was an order of magnitude less deadly than what Israel has been doing.

The world needs to stop with just words and start with action.

Note that that doesn't necessarily mean military action; Russia-like sanctions would be a great start.

To put things in perspective, it took the US at least a calendar year each in Iraq to be directly responsible for the amount of civilian deaths we've seen so far in Gaza.
