Thank you guys for posting all this. Im already having a blast with this game.
Some of the audio files dont seem to be working tho. Some of the boss themes and dialogue are missing. Im playing my ps4 copy, and i tried it on both ps4 and ps5, and i had the issue both ways, so i dunno. Maybe the disc is scratched and the files arent being copied properly, or maybe my smart tv is doing something dumb Also what does insight do? I know it summons people, but doesnt it also work kinda like Eternal Darkness where trippy stuff starts happening? Im just gonna download the digital version for $10 and see if that fixes the audio problems
But man i love how good movement feels in this game. You can flow in and out of danger almost like a dance. I dont think i fully appreciated how truly good this was back then Exploration and environmental story telling is top notch as always. Old yharnam especially. Crazy old hunter who shoots anyone who enters his territory, beasts having taken over a church and standing around worshipping some weird dead creature. Its so badass. 2Low Insight gives higher Frenzy resistance, which will make certain areas of the game MUCH less frustrating. Low insight also gives higher Beasthood, which will increase the damage from your Beastblood Pellet buff, and make the meter longer, so that it doesn't run out as quickly. good to know actually. I actually did start to feel like the pellets werent as effective as they were in the beginning. And i also noticed the white mask dudes around the cathedral are changing. Whoa I never realized you got new enemies with high insight. I generally kept it high fortunately. But uhhh once you get to a certain area I highly recommend nuking it because frenzy is a bitch there. You'll know when you get there.
Anyway, I just recently played this for the first time too! Think everyone has covered the points I would. I would just add that the missable areas are so very easily missable, but none are permanently missable. So look up a guide before new game plus if you don't find them. They're pretty cool. Also also play the DLC because it's amazing and upgrade your whirlygig saw (pizza cutter!) asap when you find it in the DLC. Best weapon for the insanely hard final boss with its OP stagger. And it's just ridiculously fun Also also also some of the highest level Caryll Runes can only be found in the highest difficulty chalice dungeons. But you can also check the Bloodborne wiki for passcodes to enter for those chalice dungeons so you don't have to stumble upon them randomly. But you do have to have a root chalice for that type of dungeon to be able to search its glyph code Okay one last thing. If you ever want to farm, Lecture Building 1st floor is the perfect place to do so when you get there. Can get a ridiculous amount of Blood Echoes real fast. Even if you don't like farming, still a useful tip if you want to just farm to buy blood vials. You will probably have to buy some for some of the bosses. Whoa I never realized you got new enemies with high insight. in Hemwick Charnel Lane, it will spawn those shadow monsters with scythes in various spots throughout the level. if your Insight is very low, you won't see these guys. they'll only appear inside of the Witches of Hemwick boss room. interestingly, if you lower your Insight to 0, the Witches will be unable to summon any shadow dudes. since you gain 1 Insight when you enter the boss room, you have to intentionally die or warp out, spend all of your Insight, and then come back with 0. that's why it's probably not well known. as for the Charnel Lane thing, most people likely only played the game once and then saved scummed to get all three endings. so they either saw the shadow monsters or didn't see the shadow monsters in Carnel Lane, and never knew there were two different "versions" of the level. --- only less than nothing, as nothing could have equaled you https://i.ibb.co/5skW2Jq/Mado2.png ... WazzupGenius00 posted... and just spend all the echoes you get on vials so you never have to worry about it anymore personally I prefer to spend all of my echoes at the start of the game on blood vials, when vials are cheap, and levels are less impactful. this prevents me from ever needing to grind during the run. but this is coming from the point of view of someone who has beaten the game many times, so I'm sure other people feel differently. I definitely noticed that new players are incredibly resistant to the idea of buying blood vials in this game until they are absolutely backed into a corner and have 0 vials left, and then complain about the grinding.
