As a Suikoden fan yes Im highly interested. One of my good memories is almost 25 years ago coming home from the military in 99 and playing Suikoden II that Fall which is largely considered the best in the series.

I might play it next. Need to finish my current game first.

Gonna take a look for it sure.

The question is when. I'm already busy enough, and now I have Eiyuden Chronicle and Stellar Blade on the list.

That seems like an excessive number of heroes.

I am going to get this. I've been considering playing Soul Hackers 2 again, I like it a lot but to go back on topic. I need a good rpg to dive into that I know nothing about. I am a Suikoden fan played all of them....

Tbh the kickstarter campaign leaves me with a bad taste. Fucking being charged $28 for shipping, which is more than I paid for a physical copy which was said to include shipping, just like all the other campaigns I backed. Then they go back on their word and charge fucking $28 which is such an obvious overcharging for 1 physical game.

I have hopes the game will be good (it probably will be), but fuck everyone involved for doing this shit to the people who financed their game.

My shipping was only 6 dollars for my backer copy. (In murica'/south carolina).

I'm assuming its based on location+if you order any extras?

I was a 150 dollar tier backer but I don't believe that one comes with too many extra things. Def. was only 6 bucks though.

I technically would have already had this game myself had I actually noticed that e-mail where they asked you to pay for the shipping. I got that e-mail on the 2nd of this month but didn't even notice it until alucard's topic on the 16th, =/ lol.

*I also noticed that my NA backer copy is actually coming from AURORA, IL, via yeteeproduction's shipping partner OSM worldwide.*

It'd imagine this will be a good bit higher if someone is ordering a NA copy but live in canada, south america or something like that.

Haven't played it too much. Just enough to see if it was locked until release date. There's a day one patch for it that will be addressing some bugs that could prevent you from completing the game, so I want to wait until that drops before getting into it proper.

There's a reason why Suikoden died and a reason why this game will die too: Too many characters. It'll hurt the product hard and reviewers won't take kindly to it due to that.

I'm interested in it and the Suikoden remasters as I've never played them, but it'll probably be a while before I get them. There's still a bunch of games I need to play first. I still haven't even played Infinite Wealth past the first 2 hours.

Yeah, Suikoden died largely because Konami wanted to focus on their gambling business. That said, reviewers are a dog shit place to get an opinion anyway in the age of "I can watch actual gameplay and form my own opinion."

I've put about 30 hours into it. Personally I live it. I don't think it will get mainstream appeal though. People who love Suikoden 1&2 will enjoy it, but it has a lot of PS1 JRPG feel to it.

All of you should buy it though. Even if you don't like it. That way I can get a sequel. I appreciate your sacrifice.

And then next year we get Armed Fantasia (Wild ARMs) and Penny Blood (Shadow Hearts) sucks the franchises are good, but I love that the people making them still wanted to make more.

I've caught a copy for my mom(Suikoden 3 and 4 were the first PS2 games she played and she loves both to this day), and two others for friends. Definitely trying to do my part.

Honestly pretty hyped because this will be my first "suikoden" like game especially a modern version of it.

It honestly has a more Suikoden 2 updated feel to it. The level of care into the sprite animations is great.

I'm going to buy it on release, but I need to finish Unicorn Overlord first.

Also do you have to play Rising first

Yeah, my shipping for a $100 tier (game + soundtrack and some minor stuff) was also $6.
Not too bad, and I effectively didn't pay tax for the game since it was a KS reward, so it semi-cancels out.
I saw it's apparently selling for only $50 on some consoles right from the start, so the fact we dropped $60+ and spent it years ago just to pay more than retail price upsets me a fair bit, though.

Look at it through the lens of inflation. $50 dollars today is the equivalent of $60 in 2020.

A little annoying, but I've spent more on worse products, I say as one of the unfortunate souls that bought Anthem.

I'm not mad about it. I've reconciled that an early backer doesn't mean you get it for retail price; you just help get the game to its finish line. You're not buying a game - you're buying an idea on what you would like to be made. You're an investor. You're taking a risk. If you don't want to take that risk, wait until the game reaches its funding and releases in a few years.

Rising is a side scroller action game with a ton of fetch quests. Good to chill with but it's not much, but it is fun. That game is too basically set up one specific area of hundred heroes and a few characters.

This game, Hundred Heroes, is a traditional PS1 style JRPG with a ton of characters. Long campaign, mini games, etc.

Yea I heard if ya backed a physical copy you have to pay for shipping. Six dollars?!! People are angry they had to pay six extra dollars?!! Life is full of let downs at least this will be better than Mighty No. 009. Plus at the Kickstarter level the people are basically investors.

I will admit getting hit with a six dollar shipping fee I guess sucks when ya went in that deep, but hey life is full of unexpected charges :/

I'm finishing off Tales of Arise now, and hopefully when EC hits game pass next week I will be ready for it

I just found out both Rising and Hundred Heroes are on it, so that's an amazing choice for anyone wanting to check it out. Pretty sure anything more powerful than a smart toaster can run it too.

There was a story where I think it does help developers get their game out there but not so much money they actually take in. It's like those cd clubs back in the day. Yea I got a bunch of cds for a penny but the artist or band got nothing in return for their craft

I suppose it just comes down to what you want to be passionate about :/ I don't like to pay full price for games, but if it isn't too much or an indie title I can buy it quicker.

I'm super excited for it, since I enjoy Suikoden so much, but I have a feeling it's gonna be another of those games that I can't afford to play until months after it comes out!

Most of the original cast who made Suikoden made this game. It's just the name is owned by Konami. Also the guy who was the head founder of the Suikoden title passed away recently.

Just got my code, I'll let y'all know my opinion when I get home(and download it). Been excited for this since the day it was announced lol

I saw the recent trailer showing off the fact that it brought back the cooking mini game so I will definitely check it out.

But it's on Gamepass, so I'll probably play it there first and buy it later when I'm not broke.

As a warning there are a couple bugs that affect game progress/character recruitment, a patch is incoming for it.

I figured that would be the case, intend to kinda blind crash course through the game real quick, get an idea of what's going on, and restart after day 1 patch(maybe with ng+ pending on how things work out)

I know they've updated 2 or 3 times in the past couple of days, at least for PS5.
