This is a good point. I don't really understand the people approving of this. If you can vote, you should be able to do anything else. I am not a fan of different ages for different privileges. Either change the age of legal adult to 21, or make everything legal at 18. This mix and match crap is stupid

Kind of surprised they didnt lower it, but this is stupid. If youre old enough to vote and go die in a war, youre old enough to strip or drink alcohol.

I edited my previous post but I dont necessarily disagree. But it would have interesting implications for a lot of things.

Honestly most 18/19 year olds arent much different than children to people over 25 anyways. I do think that after HS there does become a pretty big disparity in life experience depending on the path chosen. Like kids who go straight into picking up a trade or joining the military have on average more actual life experience than kids who goto to college directly after HS without working. Not that I think one path is better than the other.

Who cares though? If you're an adult at 18, that's all that matters.

Also, while this could hurt strip clubs, it'll only turn more women to porn or onlyfans style work instead, since that's not 'stripping'.

No, it's been 18 or out of High School. Hell, a mother is considered an adult no matter what age she is.

This is not true in America there was a time where 21 was considered and adult and it was later lowered. And throughout the different civilizations of the world it has varied from 15/16 to 21 for men and was low as 13/14 for women (though for women then adulthood mainly meant old enough for marriage/children)

Good - this is like the first good change I've seen come out of FL in who knows how long.

Youth culture has changed a lot in the last generation or two, and laws are lagging behind. Kids are staying kids longer. If someone is a pedophile for being attracted to a 16-17 year old, then why should it remain legal for an 18-year-old to sell their sexuality in a vocation that's inherently dangerous and seedy?

When was 21 considered an adult? You could always join the military after High School, 17, 18, or whatever.

In 1918 draft ages were expanded to include those aged 18 to 45.

I mean, 21 does seem to be the adult age in a lot of ways in America. This would at least be being consistent with that. Whether 21 instead of 18 is reasonable in the first place is a whole other argument.
