Got 4 clean wins on the winstreak event, then lost the 5th to a Exeggutor/Venusaur deck that got insanely lucky (all but one of its Tropical Swings hit Heads), and also got a free turn because apparently, if you dont complete your coin flips by the time the turn timer runs out, you apparently do 0 damage - even if youve selected the move before the timer runs out.

**** Exeggutor, bastard doesnt want to help me on either side of the board its on.

Pika EX still feels like the most consistent deck, since it doesnt have to worry about weaknesses from other meta decks (Fire/Water/Psychic being the most common), gets advantage on Water decks, and it gets consistent damage going fast if you get your Pikachu on the board. The only time it really stalls is if youre stuck relying on Zapdos for too long. Fire deck is strong too, but Id not want to risk it with how popular Water decks still are.

Actually, **** win streak events in general, they encourage the crappiest, tier-whoriest level of play and as soon as I get my five streak Im never doing one of these events again.

Im not super into battling, only got to the silver in the last event, but my pika deck managed a 5 win streak to my surprise. It was my second attempt. I got walled by Marowak the first try. Seeing Moltres and making them swap in Charmanders with 4 energy attached made 2 people concede At least I dont have to touch it again.

Not looking forward to this event. We'll see how long I stick with it. Also, why can't people send thanks? I try to get those tickets lately and sometimes it takes so long because at least half of people don't hit thanks.

Managed to get the 5 consecutive wins with a pikachu ex deck to get the emblem.
Last few guys bricked so I got some easy wins by people conceding within first 2 rounds

Finally got a Starme Ex in a wonder pick. I have about 450 pack points. Im thinking I might just make it another one soon but I also kinda want to save them for the new cards to see what comes out.

Not even at 2 wins yet

Won 1 game and immediately get clobbered by a Kabutops who is pretty much a hard counter to Pika EX.

My first attempt I got 4 wins in a row Misty rolling with Starmie and Articuno ex, the last match came down to the wire against a dumb M2 deck.

Neat, and definitely better than a tenth copy of Lickitung, but man, just give me a Mewtwo EX or even a single Gardevoir, please. I already have two of the regular Venusaur EX, as well. Sometimes I get lucky with Wonder Picks, but every single one I've spent trying to get Gardevoir has failed, and I've been focusing on it for at least a couple of weeks now.

There should be an emblem for losing your first 8 matches.

i'm with you on that. i would do the event since if you play 12 versus rounds you get hourglass along the way. i'll just take my participation emblem.

1/3 in versus battles so far. Just running a Ninetales/Rapidash/Blaine deck because it's simple and can be effective without relying on coin tosses (plus I don't want to make people's lives miserable with Pikachu EX - I'm really just doing matches to get the hourglasses, anyway). First match was against a Mewtwo EX deck that I might have been able to eke out a win against if I had realized that versus doesn't seem to remember what deck you last used in single player and made sure to have selected the right variation of my deck (I ended up unknowingly using my old deck build and was missing a few useful cards). What made that match especially fun was them pulling out a Kangaskhan and immediately rolling double heads while I was still trying to set up:

Next was a Moltres/Charizard EX deck, where this happened:

Zard just steamrolled everything after that. Last was a Pikachu EX deck, where they ended up doing this:

The catch here is that they made a mistake and left their Zapdos EX open to be KO'd by my Rapidash next turn, winning me the match. Felt kinda bad about that one, because they could've easily won if they hadn't done that.

Update: now 2/7. People aren't playing around for this event. I'm just glad nothing useful is locked behind winning, because this kind of thing keeps happening:

My other victory was against a Blastoise EX/Dragonite deck, which seemed unique, at least, but we both had terrible luck with draws (me with just getting a single Ninetales, them with getting the right energy for Dragonite) and I managed to trick them into leaving their Blastoise out by baiting it with an easy kill and then blasting it with just enough damage with a Blaine-boosted Ninetales to finish it off and get the two points I needed to win. I don't even know if I had any cards left to draw by the time I actually got one.

The subreddit it up in arms today lol, this event is bringing out all the toxicity. Players bitching they'll never get there, others troll bragging. Some who got there are helping by conceding a bunch of matches, I did the same, then others bitching about that saying it takes away from people who earned it and such. What a chaotic mess!

Yeah... this event doesn't sound fun for me in the slightest lol. I got my last gold emblem, not sure if I need 2 in a pretty basic and uneven meta

Now that I've conceded a dozen or so matches...I think it's time for some darkside with Butterfree/Wigglytuff. Would that be evil?

Blastoise EX deck blew through the event immediately. I still have to keep doing it to get all the event mission stuff, which is kind of annoying.

I never understood how people thought Typhlosion was cooler than Feraligatr. He had the better design and moveset.

Or someone goes second and gets a great misty roll.

Also saw a Melmetal Deck

Got my 5 in a row with Arbok/Weezing. Really surprised how many people don't know how to play against it.

I ran 2 Pikachus, 2 Zapdos and 2 of the Voltorb/Electrode line and most of the time I was set up before the opponent could do anything. So many water decks helped a lot

I actually like Sabrina with arbok because you can trap someone for an easy point. Or just throw the opponent off and force them to misplay something

Got 5 wins with a Dragonite deck pretty quick, but definitely got really lucky with some people just not really getting good draws or my Draco Meteor hitting that Mewtwo EX for 200 to give me a win.

Swapped to my stupid coin flip deck and haven't won a match since, but it was very fun having a match go like 5 extra turns because they needed a Heads to wake up and I needed a Heads to get the KO with Seaking and it was just tails after tails.

Yeah, that's what I've been running but I've been having really bad draws and I always go first unless I'm against a Charizard ex/ moltres ex deck

What's the Kabutops deck? Maybe it's a deck people are talking about that I can actually build.

I run it with Golem/Marowak, but you can do Sandslash/Machamp too.

Kabutops being a one energy self healing stall can really mess up some of your opponents plans if you can get it setup early-mid match. Having advantage over EX Pika decks removes much of the early match momentum they typically have (when you're healing 70 dmg per hit), but Kabutops really screws over Wheezing/Arbok decks to the point I feel bad.

One of the best decks going around right now is kind of this but with a 1-1 Wigglytuff line, I've been playing it today and it's really good. No potions, no Gio, 2 Xspeed, 2 Sabrina.

Okay I kind of feel bad, I just got another 5 in a row in the event lobby using Weezing/Arbok/Wiggly, ruining these poor people's progress. I stopped trolling and back to the regular lobby now.

Update - first round was a almost mirror match against another darkness deck, won it.

Second match was a water deck with Lapras EX that got a turn one Misty full energy attach and wrecked me on turn two.

**** that, Im sticking with lightning deck to clown on these water decks and minimize the Misty bull****.

Lol just playing around with a Machamp/Pidgeot Deck.
That last articuno player definitely raged when I fully setup.

Yeah, going back to Pika was the right call. Easy sweep of the next five rounds. Now to go back o playing for funsies
