Got my 45 wins for the event. I don't have a celebi deck, but the Mewtwo/Gardevoir/Mew deck is super consistent for wins. Probably 45-15 in terms of wins and losses.

Yeah, as much as I love my Celebi deck, it's really luck dependent. Without getting Serperior online asap, Celebi doesn't have enough coins to consistently defeat opponents. I hit 25 wins last night, but I also had a streak of like 8 losses in a row lol

You can battle the CPU or other humans, but I ain't into that shit (dueling humans that is). I'd much rather open packs and then maybe do some trading when that becomes available.

Looking at the top 16 played decks on limitless and it's kind of surprising at the win rates.

Celebi's the 2nd worst at 48% and Gyarados has the highest at 65%

Is there any good decks with Alakazam or nah?

Gyarados is surprisingly solid against the big meta threats (Celebi/Mewtwo/even Pikachu). It pairs super nicely with new Vaporeon by letting you use other Pokmon like Lapras or Articuno to frontline and attack while Gyaras being built, then Leaf + Wash Out to get Gyara with four energy ready to one-shot Celebi/Pika, and One-Shot Mewtwo with Giovanni. It also has 180 Hp which is massive for a stage 1, and new Magikarp can switch itself to the bench if you start with it in active spot. And thats not even factoring in Misty that can cheese you some wins quickly.

Im still waiting on a second Gyara EX and new Vaporeon to try that specific deck for myself, but Im running it with one regular Gyara and Greninja and have done pretty well with it. I think it might be for real.

Hes got a cult following, and the new tools like Mew EX and Slab have helped him get more consistently built. i could see it working on Celebi decks because it turns the doubled energy against them. Ive also heard of a Zam/Weezing deck where you wall/weaken with poison while building Zam thats pretty cool.

Playing Pocket has made me nostalgic for the Gameboy trading card game (and its sequel) so I started a new file for fun. It almost feels like a roguelight at the start because your pool of cards is so terrible, and you kind of just need to cobble together something decent after getting a few wins to eventually build towards a powerful deck.

You also really appreciate some of the lesser Pokmon lines because sometimes theyre your only hope early on. GB set Eeveeloutions and Parasect line have been majorly helpful at the start.

Ended up getting x4 Exeggutors and x4 double colorless energy early on, ironically its this games Celebi deck lol so I guess Im gonna ride it out.

The one doing well in tourneys doesn't use Vaporeon, it uses ninja master and Druddigon.

I'm starting to think that Celebi ex players don't realize that Celebi is worth two points for KO....

Its also really funny if a water deck high rolls 5+ energy with Misty then you blast them for it.

Also I think I'll rip one more 10 pack before saving again, I already have enough hourglasses since I cleaned the shop of monthly's and the event, plus have a few packs of gold built up I'll also save for next month.

Would anybody be interested in doing some sort of like, sealed format tournament for when the second pack comes out? Like we open some amount of packs (10? Less?) and build with just those plus the shop items

Im on pace to have 600 hourglasses for the new expansion. Im doing without for mythical island. Im sitting here seeing people get all these mews, celebis and serperiors and Im all like must be nice. Ill be feasting in January though lol

Okay I get the Garyados ex hype now, this might be bdif. I had a Celebi who thought they could sit on the bench all game and load up energy, the ninja master said not so fast.

I was running Druddigon Blastoise from day 1. Sometimes Wartortle fucks you over, but having 1 Squirtle and 2 Druddigon and getting 5 water on Blastoise is basically a checkmate most of the time.

But it's really hard to deny that 2 Drud 2 Magikarp is just a straight up upgrade. You sacrifice the ability to do a quick 100 for 3 water in exchange for 1 evo 4 water. It's a better trade.

Until they give us a way to search mid evos or something so I can run a more consistent deck, I'm probably moving to the Drud deck. It's hard to justify Vaporeon in there because I'd rather see Magikarp more consistently.

Golem deck is legit.
Once you get golem out, it's very difficult for you opponent to win with its -30 damage reduction. Hitmonlee works really well to stall out building up golem energy too cause your opponent won't play their magikarp.

Had a funny match where a guy got 6 heads with Misty on his benched Magikarp but didnt evolve it. He conceded as soon as I played Sabrina.

Completed the event for 45 a bit ago. Did it in a couple days actually. I steam rolled majority of the time with my Pikachu EX deck.

Everyone kept using Celebi, water, and mew decks. I was getting the fire decks towards the end. The only one that really posed a threat was the Gyarados deck when they got a good starting hand. Mewtwo is still a dangerous deck. Lack of Wigglytuff decks surprised me since I owned with that deck in the last event.

Aerodactyl in B tier? I thought everyone hates it? Whats being used to make it good? I like it OK but idk.

Also, I gotta try that Golem/Hitmonlee deck. I loved Lee early on but its time to try him out again to get those squishy Magikarps.

EDIT- Just beat Celebi Deck with Golem/Druddigon/Hitmonlee. Its legit! I have Giovanni in there to make Guard Press OHKO Celebi if needed but Rough Skin from Druddigon works just as well. Gotta watch for Sabrina though.

Meta is changing super fast, Im kind of loving it.

Nice! That Gyarados looks awesome.

I gave up on ever doing a proper Mewtwo deck because I just cant get a single Gardevoir lol. At least you can use pack points for Snivy to make it relatively cheap to get.

Yeah, I got a brick deck going. With onyx and Hitmonlee as backup. It does pretty well.

Im really liking Druddigon for Golem. Rough Skin gets so many threats into a safe breakpoint for Golem to OHKO. Onyx might be nice to take advantage of Brock support in a pinch though.

About the only bummer is unless you have two X Speeds you cant use Brock to get Golem online on Turn 3 then switch to Golem same turns, and Id rather use Leafs for switching purposes

Well I love Primeape so if I ever get a second Aero EX Ill have to give this a spin.

Just battled a very dedicated bench attack deck that was just Hitmonlee, Greninja, and Marshadow. It was a slog. I may need to steal it. Though I cant imagine it doing well outside of extremely specific matchups.
