No matter how you look at it Schumer needs to go. Sounds like he's going to retire if it looks like he would lose a primary challenge, which as of right now maybe he would. But either way he should retire. It doesn't look like there's been a contested Democratic primary for a NY Senate seat since 2010 for the special election Gillibrand won after Hillary Clinton stepped down to become Secretary of State. Clinton had a challenger in the 2006 primary. Schumer hasn't had a primary opponent since winning his seat in 1998.
