From: transience | #066 the MVC3 metagame seems to have evolved to the point where even less guys are viable than MVC2 anyone complaining about Yun should check out the sheer number of Wolverine/Akumas It's pretty bad but I'm not sure it's at the point where less are viable than MVC2. Wolverine, Akuma, Wesker, Phoenix, Sentinel, Dante, Magneto, Storm, She Hulk, Tronne, Taskmaster, Ammy, etc. Just because we're seeing Wolverine + Akuma every match doesn't mean there's zero depth there. Probably over half the cast is viable. I think the main problem is that the combo of Wolverine + Akuma is overpowered cause of the crazy synergy of Wolverine + Akuma assist. Or rather, that Akuma's assist is overpowered, simply. Wolvie does well with almost any assist but it isn't impossible to shut him down if he doesn't have Akuma. When those two are together you have to play really smart to avoid a derp combo killing you. -- Currently playing: League of Legends, Chrono Cross. The problem with that is when Sony and Microsoft release their newest consoles in a few years, the tech will be much more advanced then the Wii U. Nintendo will once again be stuck with last gen technology. Third parties who jump to the next gen will once again not downgrade their games to work on the Wii U. This is a really dumb move on Nintendo's part. The only way I see this working is if they either trash the Wii U altogether (or bulk up the tech big time), or they release another console a few years after the Wii U (basically using the Wii U as a "port" console and ignoring it after). Either way, they shot themselves in the foot with this announcement. And nobody will develop games for them. what do you do with her, HGR? Imagine Lux. Now imagine Lux, but with cooldowns a third the length of her current ones, a hard CC, a fourth attack spell, a second support spell/debuff, a better passive, less brutal costs, third layer mindgames with ball redirections, better farming, better scaling, and being a robot. Yes. Orianna seriously does all of that with no exaggeration. She's the one character I'm confident can beat Mordekaiser reliably, to give you an idea of how much I respect/hate her. In my very first game of LoL, I played as a hero who could cast her nuke any and every time it was off of cool down without any regard for mana, and thought this was completely absurd. You're thinking of LoL's stuff in HoN terms and it doesn't work because in HoN spells are precious resources, while in LoL they're part of your common arsenal. I'm curious as to what you think is balanced MvC3 style in League compared to permastuns and total CC immunity. There's often something to gleam from an outside perspective. Really? Name a situation in HoN where a decent team will allow the opponent's carry to farm for that long. And what kind of unfair stuff is there? The Statue does one thing right and it's making it really clear that you can carve your own path, but the rest ain't so good and the plot (half the reason to play Deus Ex) doesn't take off until later on. I insist, make a playthrough topic. There's a couple things you need to be aware of to breeze through it ASAP and set the tone for your game - if you wing it it CAN work but a couple tips can smooth things over a LOT.

Compared to their current roster he's a super vanilla ganker, while our Wukong is a blinktank, something we previously had none of. His mechanics look more interesting, but then you remember HoN follows the MvC3 balance approach and he looks much less impressive, like Hsien Ko or Ryu would.

The thing is that an "alpha timeline" is actually a simplification of a very tough to comprehend and explain concept, which is the basis of forms of time travel that aren't stable loops. The alpha timeline is, put simply, whatever timeline is most current when it comes to changes made through time traveling. If you cause a change that alters history, history both continues as before AND changes, *because the alpha timeline is a brand new timeline created by your actions*. When you travel through time back to your time, you're not going back to your own time, in truth. You're going back to a new time. Paradoxes *can't* form, and decisions cannot threaten the existence of an Alpha timeline!

Yeah, pubbies are bad. The solution is to pick a stompy champion and win about 20 games in a row. It should be much better afterward.
Or alternatively, race up to ranked. People aren't quite so stupid there. -- Currently playing: League of Legends, Chrono Cross. Current Projects: Fool's Overture, CYOA: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/59835001 |

Dude, **** SOLO QUEUE I just got chewed out by some dumbass Wukong who spent the entire early game humping the turret and leaving me alone while I initiated, and then when he got a few kills he said he was carrying the game. He wouldn't leave the turret because of Sion's stun. I was Leona. I told him it was my job to take the stun. He told me I was doing a bad job. ****. Solo queue. Every time I try to go back, it gives me nothing but bads. I don't even know why my ELO is so terrible. Playing Leona probably. Well...that was an interesting first test of Ermine's strat. Went top against a Morde, ended game 7-1-5 with 5 buildings pushed. I don't think it should count though, because not only is Morde the character I know how to crush perfectly, but that guy was terrible. He used exhaust instead of ignite, 'nuff said. I think it's solid though, just need to get an IE or thirster after atma's is complete so as to become really damn scary.
EDIT: Also, forgot to mention it, but I got first blood in that game, three minutes in. morde tried to rush me when he was 2, I was 3, and he had no shield built up lol. -- Currently playing: League of Legends, Chrono Cross. Would there be any way to experience dreams, or dream simulacrums? If yes, then of course. If not, I'd pass. Sure, I'd have more hours to use in a day, but it's not worth losing the wild landscapes of my dreams.

Zero Dragoon is pretty much a God (from the) Machine. Any reasons why it couldn't just beat up all the other three teams alone?

Except that Monkey has an INSANE late game that if taken advantage of with 2 gold pers and high farm means you can pretty much just win the game outright. Agreed on this - but isn't 7k of setup a bit much, Ermine? I mean, you're counting on your allies to not screw the pooch while you farm like crazy there. Monkey's skill roids aren't good enough to get you through THAT much farming without some item help after all. Wouldn't a decent solotop (because that strategy is obviously not a botlane approach) be able to drive you out? EDIT: Also, are you certain it could work? Have you faced, like, Urgot, Morde, or any of the other "get outta the lane kiddo" solos yet? If so I might have to give it a spin sometime. I can see how nasty monkey could get with big farm and straight-up skipping ghostblade for a tanky+lategame build. -- Currently playing: League of Legends, Chrono Cross. That build is 100% ignorable until you're 7k in though. Open with Atma's then do the rest and it might work.

You went on a tirade a while ago about Ionian Boots being overpriced. They're not because if an item has an 8k gold cost and an active whose effects is making you win, it's not overpriced. Same goes for the Lucid Boots, as the CDR is gloriously useful on a bunch of champs.
And yeah, CDR blues give 6% CDR. The usual 9/0/21 comes out to 15% CDR after all. -- Currently playing: League of Legends, Chrono Cross. Current Projects: Fool's Overture, CYOA: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/59835001 |
