My shitty ass Dell could barely handle 3 back in 2002 and by the time I had a half-decent machine the hype had already passed.

But a coworker convinced some of us to play so we started some characters on a classic server.

Honestly was not expecting to have this much fun with it. I'm like level 14 now and it's kinda addicting.

Also had my first gamer encounter when some rando walked up to me and started sending weird harassing messages because they thought I killed some quest monster they were after. (I looked up what they were talking about and hadn't even seen it up to then lol)

It does look really good. I really can't decide if I want to play this or Ryzeal when that format hits. This...yeah mainly for the art. Ryzeal seems more like a playstyle I'd enjoy but i don't really care for the designs.

It doesn't really have any grave or banish plays, I guess. Most good decks use one or the other as a second hand. >_>

Is the trick that we're supposed to guess they're Yugi's monsters from the Millennium Duel and then get the rug pulled out when it turns out they're technically different names from the Shining Sarc archetype? >_>

But yeah I recognize them all from the anime. I kinda do want to build Shining Sarc since it's a relatively cheap deck, maybe I'll wait till the new Dark Magician Girl gets released in Master Duel

Can't seem to figure out a workable Zombie World deck but I did manage to get Skull Servants and Mayakashi going. Getting KoSS to 10,000 and beating over the Buster Blader link felt good. I really hate Buster Blader lol.

I even ended up doing a jank Mayakashi/Skull Servant Mashup. If you go first you do the Mayakashi combo, and if you go second you bone them. The mills from Wight Lord also help set up Mayakashi a bit, while one archetype can usually bait the ash/imperm for the other. It's far from "good" but it's funny when it works. (I just have to remember if I use Linkuriboh to get SS going I can't us Dakki's synchro chain)

I also did an absolutely toxic game against Ninjas with my Harpie deck where I Feather Stormed them two turns in a row. So maybe I shouldn't complain about Buster Blader. <_<

Usually its about setting, but with isekai the mere fact that the MC is now in a new world with (usually) new powers is, for isekai, for some reason the "genre."

Most of them are just magical swords and sorcery fantasy. But what if there is an isekai where the guy captains a space battleship? Is that REALLY just the same "isekai" genre? There are also series that are basically a swords and sorcery fantasy isekai, but there is no isekai, just a protagonist who gets a (likely undervalued at first) power that may well end up being a cheat. Or there are fantasy settings that are normal. Those happen too. So is the former an "isekai genre" or not? Even if the Earth never is a thing to begin with and the person is born and raised in another world from the start, but it has a "level system" for some reason?

The concept has been around forever but my understanding is that at some point the LN/manga industry got absolutely flooded with same-ish isekai stories that it effectively became its own genre

Usually when people say "it's just a game" it's as a reminder to not get disproportionately upset at something where there are literally no stakes except personal enjoyment.

His mindset of taking games seriously and not being okay with losing is fine...if you're in a position to make lots of money via your performance, which most people aren't.

Also, there's his conflating of losing with an "imperfection of craft". It's possible to make no mistakes in a game and still lose. >_>

PendMages feel really difficult to get going, but Odd-Eyes still feel smooth, so I'll be using them to get my Pendulum fix.

Though I also lost another game because I activated my Z-Arc trap forgetting I had put Odd-Eyes on my scale (so it couldn't be used as material and Z-Arc didn't get its board wipe). So the lesson today is, pay attention to where my cards are lol.

Ironically if you step back and just look at what Shallan has achieved she's very much overtaken Jasnah and has done so for books at this point. We see it all through the lens of Shallan's POV so we're always aware of how close to collapse she is but looked at objectively and externally Shallan's the baddest girlboss of Roshar, whereas Jasnah's kinda just over there posturing.

Wouldn't surprise me if she's being set up for a massive fall in book 5 TBH. Her brief POVs are kinda ominous.

I was just thinking in the context of alt-right whiners, Jasnah's little chapter in WoK where she extra-judicially kills a bunch of rapists/muggers and is made to look awesome while doing it would be the exact kind of scene that should've clued in said whiners a long time ago. >_>

Yeah for the sake of the mohave overall they're definitely the best. Really the only reason I wasn't with them from the beginning was because I didn't care for their apparent goals for New Vegas.

Yeah, NCR is probably the most "good", even if they're flawed. You could play a good character with House or Yes Man, but yeah, you have to destroy the BoS I think. Though I didn't like having to murder House as NCR, either. (spoilers for non-House playthroughs)

I guess from a gameplay stance it makes sense to give every faction a serious decision to go all in on, but yeah I didn't care for that either.

Was siding with House most of the way because I feel like the NCR should just mind their own fucking business, the Legion is irredeemably evil, and I can't be arsed to take over the world with Yes-Man.

But then he wanted me to massacre the Brotherhood of Steel and NCR was open to...not killing everybody, so I defected.

Though I did do a little bit of political assassination on the Great Kahns in the name of diplomacy. (Apparently there's a coup-less way around that but I must've missed it lol). Well...NCR fucked them in the end anyway so I guess it didn't make a difference >_>

For the final mission at the Dam I just stealth boy'd my way through the map and then talked-no-jutsu'd Lanius into fucking off. I wasn't even planning on doing a speech run but I had already maxed the stats I cared about and was just tossing points there in the end because I could.

Overall great game. Now just gotta wait for season 2 of the show to come out
