TDKR tricking a generation of comic fans into thinking Batman could beat Superman in a fair fight

Joker was def Batman's nemesis from the start in the 40s, but when DC tried to tone down the murder and violence in their comics he got rewritten into a goofy prankster type and kinda fell into obscurity

then he went back to his roots in the 70s

I'm kinda over the Joker tbh

Gunn has once again confirmed Robert Pattinson's Batman is not part of the DCU.

using the Justice Society as a critique of American imperialism in the middle east is something that was only lightly addressed at in the film and they should've went harder with that angle tbh

i usually just used the "trump is in the files" or "trump had epstein killed" stuff to troll back in the day, but now I actually believe it to be true just based on how he's behaved towards this

the moment with Pa Kent seeing Clark was distressed, wordlessly motioning for him to scooch down the bench to make room, and then making small talk about the local Mexican place while working up the energy to have a genuine heart to heart was like 10/10 "Boomer dad" writing.

I mean in the noted purple state of Georgia, Democrats won two (three?) senate races in the last several years by running young, charismatic candidates who are fairly progressive.

It all hinges upon whether you count Ki in the DB universe as magic. If it is then Superman has no defence against it and loses easily

the "never lose" thing is WILD for someone hoping to play a superhero

Reframe the cultural narrative about the MAGA movement and its supporters so that they're not seen as kooky nutjobs and seen as legitimate dangers and threats to democracy and our communities. Use the most basic skills and effort in optics to unite Americans against MAGA and view it/them as enemies the same way we were all briefly united against Bin Laden and terrorists in the post-9/11 era.

The issue is they've tried framing MAGA as threats to democracy and communities but it doesn't resonate.

Funny enough the only time in the last decade where the Democratic Party or the left in general outplayed the MAGA movement on the cultural zeitgeist was with the "weird" branding last year. They were completely caught off guard by it and had no idea how to respond to it

Then the Dems and left dropped it for some reason.

In any case, branding fascists as a powerful threat doesn't really do much to stop them, it just emboldens them. As weird as it sounds emasculating them and mocking their peculiarities is what seems to resonate with most people.

I've had fewer relationships with men than with women, but the few relationships with men have tended to be less turbulent and more fun
