That's an alternate Spider-Man where status-quo altering situations like that are normal.

Mainline Spider-Man did have a story where he did reveal his identity to the world, but had to 'take it back' because it caused huge problems for himself and his family (and the last Spider-Man film was based off this story)

I find it easier to forget anything that happened in Obi-Wan than to talk about it. I think only Uncle Owen and maybe Aunt Beru (because I don't remember what she did) came off looking good, not even Obi-Wan came off looking good after it.

I'll take it. It's Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes and you can completely sideline him if you wanted.

I think people have different definitions of friends. You can be courteous and joke around with someone and not be their friend. A friend is someone you trust.

I think people are mistaking co-worker for friend somehow. Co-workers are people you are civil around because you see them every day and it makes things awkward at work if you don't.

If you read the article, the charges he was convicted for in the federal court were the ones dismissed.

Other articles I've googled cited the guy is still on the hook for five other charges.

In other words, the article in the OP is not written very well.

Power Rangers was a fun kids show but it's time to let it go.

The show is straight terrible if you're over like ten.

But I gotta admit, in a vacuum, some of the ideas were kinda cool, lol.

Lost Galaxy was better than it had any right to be. Having said that, that was the last season I watched before I just switched to the Super Sentai versions, and even then I don't watch all of them. And in all honesty, you don't really watch them because you're looking for something cerebral, you're just looking for something fun.

I think the problem is we're part of the 'internet culture' so we 'know better', but now the behavior has to be shown/proven to the rest of the world, and even then some of the people out there still won't care (because it's inconvenient)

The actual big deal is people online trying to subvert the justice system by making these kind of claims to cause a mistrial.

If it ends up going that far the poster is going to end up in court and have to disclose a lot of things, including contact information and family relationships, to see if in fact he had a relationship with one of the jurors. Which I'm sure if this guy is a troll poster he's not going to find very funny soon.

Eh the posts there slowed down considerably over the weekend.

Frankly since this is a 'trial topic' the weekend is where the activity happens the least so that was only natural. That there was a huge discussion about the politics following the verdict was just unusual because it was the first time it happened.

I hope at least some posters regret assuming the worst about the supposed MAGA jury member.

I think a lot of it had to do with how 'common' it is to show a rogue juror on TV/movies where it's the subject matter.

Like I think it was an episode of 'Psych' where the main character got on a jury and convinced everyone to do their civic duty (as opposed to everyone just wanting to go home and get it over with). That's usually what happens in reality.

Before anyone goes on a defeatist rant about how Trump is going to get a slap on the wrist, you still can't eliminate the important part of all this:

Convicted Felon.

I think people are mixing up what's going on. The verdict is reached.

McDonalds prices aren't as standardized as you think. In one city there is a particular McDonalds that is more expensive than one down the street simply because of location and they can get away with it.

The reality is they do, and they can't afford to go to war with the US without ruining their own economy. They may try to do it, but that probably won't happen for at least another thirty years, if even that. Back in the 80s China could have just plain owned the US if they played their cards right, but somewhere along the line they screwed up and now they're dependent on the US still running.

You think that is bad? A game bug made it so doing coop Clinger Winger (the second to the last stage) made it impossible to do it because the second player couldn't move.

The stage before that, Rat Race, is ridiculously fun in coop since only one of you has to do the race and the other person can punch the rat.

Star Ocean (unless you play IV) is the biggest tease for a sci-fi rpg. I thought when 3 came out it'd be a real sci-fi adventure. The twist didn't even bother me. I guess there's still Mass Effect.

Dan isn't really a joke character anymore. His 'joke' was being a riff on Art of Fighting, but he's very usable.

I only really liked the first two seasons. Season 3 kind of lost me (Daolon Wong was not that great of a villain) and I didn't give Season 4 much of a chance. I did hear that I dodged a bullet with Season 5.

The thing I liked a lot about Season 2 was it spent the majority of the episodes on some one-off non-arc related stories (even had one where Valmont was doing stuff completely unrelated to Shen-du) and some of the gap-filling for Season 1 that were sometimes interesting.

Realized something about Jubilee in her fight with Sunspot.

She'd been considered "the kid" throughout the old series, not really part of the X-Men, but this is really the point where she's fully graduated as one of Xavier's "soldiers", for better or worse, when Sunspot can apologize for attacking her and she just fires back with everything she's got.

You know right before all that Sunspot rejected Jubilee's friendship in favor of Magneto and subsequently Jubilee burned his contact card, so I don't think Jubilee is taking this as a 'soldier' but rather as a personal betrayal.

Plus that tweet is wrong. By limiting the court to $1000 penalties Merchan allows Trump to continue causing mayhem during the trial, influence or threaten jurors, and demonstrate that any former president who is a degenerate scumbag can break any law he wishes.

We all know $1000 is nothing to Trump, but to the average person (eg, the jurors) that is not a small potato.

The manga was originally about several different kinds of games with Bakura as the villain and then Duel Monsters ended up being really popular IIRC and it ended up being the bigger part of the manga. They eventually just stuck to it. It has an interesting concept and I like the darker tone, especially with Atem. The opening is also pretty damn sick.

Bakura I think only appeared in one story arc before the card games took off (along with Kaiba becoming a more prominent character; he was a one-shot villain with the card game motif while Bakura was the RPG guy (the story was adapted for Duel Monsters))

Bought a bundle pack for 4x less than its going price (this was a pricing error on the part of the store).

Need to do it faster.

I've had it with this crap. Sometimes, a character just stinks. Not every film is going to be Scooby Doo and vindicate your hate-wank by turning someone evil unnecessarily. It's okay to dislike an obnoxious character. They don't have to secretly be Hitler just because you don't like them.

It's not Disney canon. They went the other way with Jar Jar by making him ostracized and outcast (because he is blamed for his misguided role in the birth of the Empire), which in some ways is worse.

So was the first film. And if you compare the trailers they arent even close in quality. Little wall breaking and the jokes actually flowed well and organically into the story and narrative. Which was the same for the movie.

That gives me hope, but remember, this is Trump we're talking about. If given an inch, he will take a 5 mile runway. If it only takes one juror for a hung trial, then you better believe that his defense team is going to get it.

He is nothing if not motivated

Yes, I know, but I still find the idea that Trump is some kind of mastermind laughable and if he believed having a potential direct line to a juror would help him he wouldn't keep that to himself long enough to last through the trial.

I would suggest, before people 'automatic L' on the trial because you don't like something about a juror (and let's be honest about this, we don't know everything), remember that jurors can be removed if they actually do something improper, even in deliberation.

SoV had a LOT of random scenarios for characters dying, including a lot of ending changes, some unique post-battle dialogue for characters if their friends/relatives died, and some unique plot changes like that one.

That game rules. They put so much love into it. I'm really sad that its sales were a bit whatever.

That's how Fire Emblem was in general in the early games because you were expected to have your units die through the course of the game. It's only 'relatively recently' (more like the GBA games) that the design philosophy changed, after it's been established that players did their best to keep units alive.

It's part of the reason why I find the idea of trying to 'save everyone, recruit everyone' in Shadow Dragon such a terrible and tedious idea.

Well, maybe can be retried, it is about as settled as Roe v Wade was. The basing for hung juries and mistrials to be retried was on a ruling that decided that jeopardy is not attached until the verdict is decided. But more recent than that the Supreme Court has ruled jeopardy attaching when the jury is seated.

So should there be a hung jury or mistrial, fully expect a case before the SC on DJT claiming double jeopardy.

A hung jury leading to a mistrial does not lead to double jeopardy because that result brings the trial to a standstill with no resolution. Double Jeopardy applies when there's a final resolution to the case. Their actual angle from that point would be to go after the judge or the prosecutor for procedural violations.

No, it's not. Mistrials can be tried again. For one or both side(s) that can be detrimental to their case just as much as it could help them.

I read that for many potential jurors their old social media posts were being brought up as reasons to disqualify them. It's a reminder that if you're going to post something on social media make sure it's something you wouldn't be embarrassed to have read aloud in a courtroom years later.

This really happens a lot. There's another big story in the news (off topic here) where social media posts were a huge factor.
