They tell me not to distribute the levels but nuts to that I've got OCD to take care of.

Everyone is at 30 now or above. About to finish my last Chapter 2. Honestly I haven't played in a few days. It might be due to the realization that I likely will not be able to finish the game before Kiwami 2 drops, which then goes into FotNS:Lost Paradise, which then goes into LEGO DC Super Villains. Three guides for me to make and I probably won't finish Octopath until Christmas, so I've kind of let it slide.

I have to do a few more fights, but is it just me, or do the Chapter 2 boss fights have music that leads into the actual battle music? Like you confront the villain, and they have their own theme, then the battle starts and that music continues uninterrupted, and then it transitions musically into the battle theme?

Because if so, that is one of my new favorite things.

This Dunkey character sounds a lot like CinemaSins and their "Everything Wrong With..." series.

Seem to want to be taken seriously for their opinions, but every time someone tries to call them out, it's always "just a joke". I'm not sure if Dunkey personally defends their work in this way, but I'm certainly seeing it in this topic.

If I'm off-base on this, feel free to correct me.

I cant figure out an optimal party. I started with Alfyn and went counterclockwise. I want to lead off with Alfyn but I have no idea who he synergizes with. Im only like 2 hrs in.

Always good to focus on roles. Alfyn is largely a healer, so try not to pair him off too much with Ophilia, for example, who is also a healer. Make sure you have someone who can do single damage and someone who can do multi-damage. A buffer/debuffer is good, too.

But honestly, for all the Chapter 1s, as long as you're not running away from battles, you shouldn't have too much trouble no matter who you start with.

Once you start unlocking the subclasses is where you start considering specialization and covering all possible bases.

EDIT: Despite giving you only a very specific strategy for Alfyn that relies on consuming items, Tyran is right that Alfyn is good on pretty much any team. Make sure you explore with his Concoct ability and you'll discover some interesting uses for his stuff. Just remember to stay stocked.

The hypothesis being put forth is "if criminalization of prostitution reduces sex trafficking, then it therefore follows that new laws cracking further down on prostitution will further reduce sex trafficking."

Not the worst assumption in the world, but the data you're supplying doesn't support it.

Rika, you posted "a study" and claim victory because shockthemonkey didn't have time to look over it in detail.

Fortunately, I do.

While that study is certainly damning for proponents of legalized sex work, there are a few caveats to it.

One, while the study states it did a full cross-sectional study on over a hundred countries, it admits that the study can only support "an association" between prostitution legalization and sex trafficking, but cannot establish causality.

Two, they then went to the case studies, examining Germany, Sweden, and Denmark. The results they put together indicate support their hypothesis, but one still has to examine the fact that the study was done over the series of five years (1999-2003), and admits a lot of factors. For one, pre-legalization in Denmark data is not available, nor is pre-criminalization data in Sweden. Pre-criminalization in Sweden, the law stated that individual sale was legal, but not organized brothels. That's just a couple of examples of caveats that can put bias in the data.

So, while this study *supports* Rika's argument about legalization of sex work increasing human trafficking, it's not *proof*. It's always important with these studies to go all the way to the details to realize that one study is rarely the be-all end-all for an argument.

...

Oh, and has been said multiple times in this topic, the study has nothing to contribute to the argument of whether a new law can reduce trafficking in a country where prostitution is already largely illegal.

So I hear about "the Flame" and go through Ophilia's Chapter 1 and people mention Aelfric and the pantheon I'm like "Cool, it's nice to have stories with religions to figure out with all their mythology."

Then I go to a shrine and a god just straight up talks to me.

Also, maybe I fuzzed out when it happened, but was I actually given something that represents the job? I mean, I get how it works in-game mechanically (go to the menu, select a thing, only person get a thing at a time), but trying to translate that to an in-universe phenomenon has left me a little fuzzy on what it actually means. Is there an item that the folks pass between each other representing the job, or is it just a vague intangible state of being? And if the latter were the case, why is only one person at a time limited to learning the job?

Like in FFV, for example, the jobs were represented by crystal shards. Everyone could learn one job at once, and it was implied that the knowledge was imparted by the shards themselves.

I worry about silly things, I know.

Seems to me this is a thing Nintendo could do at literally any time with literally any of a number of sites.

There has to be some particular reason they went for these two in particular.

EDIT:
Both sites are believed to be operated by Jacob Mathias and his Arizona company Mathias Designs LLC. They offer access to a wide variety of ROMs, including many Nintendo games.

Might be this was all done specifically to go against this guy in particular. I'm not sure what he's been up to but perhaps he got a little too big for his britches?

Salesforce workers asked the execs to cancel their contract with CBP (Customs Border Protection), given how it directly benefits ICE.

The CEO's response? Donate $250,000 to RAICES, a nonprofit focused around getting legal representation for immigrants and refugees.

RAICES says they will not accept.

Sure, the Salesforce CEO doesn't have to do a damn thing, but to try to throw money at the issue in hopes it will go away is pretty damn cowardly.

The Boston MFA has some pretty cool stuff. The Ancient World wing has a lot of old stuff. I was always a big fan of Egyptian art and Greek art.. Europe had some nice pieces by Bosch, Gaugain, and others. Since it's Boston, the American wing had a ton of stuff from colonial work and the Revolution, along with 1800s artists. They had a Mark Rothko exhibit in the Contemporary wing for those of us who enjoy canvasses painted entirely in one color.

Yeah, it was a good little day trip. Spent about four hours there but it was fun. :)

The priest's gender is extremely important because he can't perform the duties of a priest if he isn't male. That is what Shakespeare would have believed and he would view the people who changed the gender if his priest characters as heretics, as do many orthodox Christians today--hundreds of millions of them actually.

How arrogant are you to assume "this is what Shakespeare believed"? Hell, the world doesn't even truly know Shakespeare or his identity, or if indeed he is a "him". There's some massive assumption making in your posts all across the board.

Have you even done any research at all into the concept of Shakespeare?

Are there any lines in the play where the priest's gender is thematically important or commented on? If not, there's no point in harping on it. The great thing about the timeless nature of Shakespeare is that you can make setting and casting adjustments and still connect with the main theme of the work.

Also, odd you pick Shakespeare when in his heyday (or the heyday of his plays), female roles were played by male actors.

So, very sweet of you to wake up this Saturday morn to crow about an imagined scenario you cooked up in your head about how the liberals are coming to get *your* tradition.

You know what we call people who assume ownership of a fictional work and feel that their say in how that work is presented is the most important or most correct? A toxic fandom. Stop being toxic, TC.

The main story is about Brainiac collecting stuff on Earth. One of the "things" he was collecting was examples of major European cities and shrinking them down.

There is one mission, called "Europe Against It", where you visit mini versions of Paris, London, and Pisa. The developers went to the effort of making it so that the cities were actually for the most part proportionally correct to their geography.

In Paris, you start at the Eiffel Tower, cross the Seine to the Trocadero Gardens, head up Avenue Kleber, and end up at the Arc de Triomphe.

In London, you start at the Thames, near Big Ben, then head up Parliament St. to Trafalgar Square, then up the Mall to Buckingham Palace.

In Pisa, which is smaller, you start at one side of Piazza del Duomo, then go to the other side, where the Leaning Tower is.

I just thought it was neat and wanted to share.
