I'm very fond of Forbidden Rice, myself. The flavor and texture is nice, and it's a very versatile little variety. Plus, the color is very striking.
Also very fond of this bamboo-infused jade pearl rice I found at work(Whole Foods). Needless to say, it's pricey, but it gets gooey without being very sticky, if that makes sense.

At the end of the day, I like rice in general.

Pence is probably hoping Trump keels over at some point, and he can coast to an easy re-election by virtue of observing "proper decorum" and maybe ending one or two deeply unpopular policies while doubling-down on the "moral" aspects of Trump's policies.

Still looking good for the Democrats.
However, even if they win the House in November and topple Trump in 2020, it won't make much difference long-term unless they aggressively tackle our society's many problems.
For young voters in particular, that would entail a plan to bring down college costs and retire student debt.

Despite that, it's probably one of the few Final Fantasy games up until then to not let you custom-build your characters however you wanted. Lots of people complain about stuff like that, but it's kind of a staple of Final Fantasy games to let you customize every character however you want. Aside from FFIX, the only other game I can think of that did that before FFIX was FFIV. So despite being such an homage to the FF series, having the characters be stuck with their classes kinda goes against that.

Actually, the series started alternating between "job system" games and "fixed class" games.
FF1: while you can't change their jobs, you get to pick them at the beginning.
FF2: Characters are fixed in their class. Frionel is a knight, Maria is a mage, Guy is a martial artist, Leonheart is... a dragoon? A dark knight? (I haven't played this yet, so I don't know for myself).
FF3: Onion knights? First changeable jobs system.
FF4: Fixed classes again.
FF5: Jobs system. I think there are some differences in their base traveler classes.
FF6 had fixed classes, but after everyone can learn and use magic, they seem to look similar, unless you focus more on their individual abilities.

FF2 doesn't really have "classes", per se. Your characters have slightly different base stats and starting equipment, but from then on, their stats increase on the basis of what you have them do, except some things are overtuned, some undertuned, and most of it is unintuitive.
FF2 is janky as hell.

In FF5, your party members have discreet base stats which are altered(but not overwritten!) when they change classes. It's negligible, but it's there. Also, the stats of the base class(Bare/Freelancer) improve based upon how many and which classes a character has mastered, and certain abilities "carry" stats.

2016 was not an easy election for conservatives. You either had to side with someone who would advance your causes but was a dangerously unqualified idiot....or side with a qualified, competent politician who would most likely make numerous choices you disagreed with.

Thankfully I live in Chicago, so my vote doesn't count for a damn thing.

Do you personally feel like the "right" choice was made?

I honestly don't know. While he's clearly a screeching halfwit that I wouldn't trust to run a 7-11, let alone a major world power....he'll be gone in two more years and we'll have a solidly conservative supreme court for several decades. Damaged foreign relations can be pretty easily repaired by the next administration, tariffs can be repealed or scaled down to acceptable levels. I think as long as America can escape the Trump administration without any long-term damage, then yeah I'm happy with the choice.

The problem is that there's no reason to believe this couldn't happen again. The weakness and instability of our democracy has been exposed. The extent of the decay is bad, and reversing it will take a lot of bold policy. It's perfectly believable to me that the Democrats could end up successfully quashing their progressive/socialist wing and delivering essentially a repeat of Clinton/Obama presidencies where the Republicans quickly recapture the House and Senate and we basically end right back here.
It really can't be emphasized enough how damaging the fact that you can no longer trust American diplomacy beyond a particular president's term.

What is this from, specifically? Googling Cycle of Telam brings up nothing.

@ElatedVenusaur

It's from Europa Barbarorum, the Rome: Total War mod. It's one of the loading screen quotes. I couldn't find anything on it either, and it's also recalled from my (often faulty) memory, as I haven't actually played it in years. However, the mod did have actual historians and antiquarians working on it(and still does, at least on Europa Barbarorum 2 for Medieval 2: Total War.) IIRC, it's from Celtic myth.

Back on topic...
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. . . . This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."
