You have any Faithgas? Preferably one with Hastega. OK BSB is great if you have it, since he could use his free time to entrust some gauge to alph or Fujin.

You're looking at a minimum of 2 stacking Faithgas if you want to do any kind of damage to the magicite bosses, especially since neither Alph nor Fujin have a self-buff command 2.

The Golbez CMs will probably be the first content I won't be able to clear (on its initial release) since the old Mote Ifrit CM. I might have a shot with Pecil BSB spam and a Cloud RW, but I kinda doubt it.

Fortunately, like Ifrit, it is going to return eventually, so I shouldn't feel too pressured to draw on the current banners, which I really don't like.

After the XP daily and feeding Mombomb and Salamander the remaining Arcana to get them both to 80, I got the sub-30 on Sealion. Feels good to have a daily source of 2 MIOs.

I'm getting so close to sub 30 on Sealion.
I had one pseudo-clear (meaning I fled before rewards) at 30:61. In another run, he was down to 1%-ish health after a Sephiroth OSB at 29:80.
I'm sure I'd manage it if the 5* spellblades were already 4-hit. This is so frustrating. Either way, I'll probably get there within the week. Just a few % of magicite fire+, or a higher level on my Mombomb to unlock Attack Boon 10 would have probably done it.

Having an instant 40% Medica from Enkidu is such a game changer for Cid Missions.

I used it on the XI U+ CM and the D200 VIII CM torment, and it's just crazy powerful.
I'm not up to the D300 torment yet, but I bet it will play a major role on that clear too.

The 4* Vitality farm will finally end in a few hours. I'm now at 711. I suppose I should use a few of those one of these days.

Apart from that' I'm doing surprisingly good progress on the magicites. Hydra and Bismarck have been mastered under a minute, while Sealion and Fenrir have been completed (not mastered) with more than a minute. Sealion should be doable, but there's no way my current team can master Fenrir.

My choice for first magicite was between Hydra and Bismarck. After careful consideration, I went for Earth, since Maria BSB might just be my best relic, period. And after almost an hour of retrying, modifying my setup, and praying he didn't spam his imperil, Hydra is down in 49 seconds. That was incredibly, fucking, hard. Like... holy shit... I have no idea how I'm ever supposed to beat some of those, where I have literally no worthwhile relics *coughicecough*

I relied on Maria and Tifa with their en-earth BSBs, Papalymo provided Haste and a Mag buff with his SSB, while Gordon SSB provided the Atk&Mag buff and Wrath&Entrusted an occasional bar to Maria. Cat-lady with her BSB was my healer.
Got Enlil and Hydra Magicites for my trouble.

You know you can use a drop inspector, right? Personally, I use FFRKreeper. You just flee the battle until you are promised your desired orb, then kill him.
If you don't want to go through the trouble of getting that to work, you can S/L when you see that yellow orb, then pick "Cancel", to at least guarantee three majors.
Not like there's anything wrong with farming without one of those exploits, of course.

I had seen Kuja hyped up as super hard, but I had no trouble with him. I took a lot of mitigation, though. Wall, Shellga, Full Break, Magic Breakdown, a stacking Magic-down SB (Fang's SSB in my case), not to mention all the lightning resist.
I took my new Noctis tools to play against Rebirth Kuja, and had him act as a team instant cast machine with the SSB. Lifesiphon+Ace Striker means that the instant turns are just flying around. That definitely works very well.

Larsa BSB, or Status Blink in general, made Dullahan a joke. I just added 3 random characters with Fire damage and Tyro for Wall, RW Shout, and easy victory.
I didn't even bother with ice resist accessories.

Anavapta wasn't too bad, thanks to Yshtola's BSB. Instant cast Curajas on command 1, and the damage shield for some additional safety. That was good enough to mostly neuter his HP1 bullshit. Other than that, it was a matter of packing enough Lightning abilities to not see that attack 6 times. KO resist acessories on everyone also help a lot.

So, for me that meant 3 lightning dps (I took Lightning, Fang, Hope), Tyro with SG on support duty, Yshtola for healing and a Rikku RW.

There are some moves that just ignore buffs (Omega Drive Nightmare comes to mind), but Shelke's Ultimate Sky Rend completely ignores defense.

After a quick look at the AI thread over on Reddit, I did some math and got pretty much the damage I was experiencing.

Warning: Math

Ultimate Sky Rend (400%, ignores defense, uses Atk^0.5)
In weak form, Shelke has 1150 Atk.
With Full Break (×0.85) and Power Breakdown (x 0.8), that's down to 782.
The physical damage formula below soft-cap for enemies is "(Multiplier x Atk^2) / Def^0.84"

Since we're ignoring Defense, and using sqrt(782) as the value for Atk, Ultimate Sky Rend would do 4 x (sqrt (782))^2 = 4x782 = 3128 damage. Which is pretty much what I remember from my run (see my previous post where I talked about 3000 AoE damage).

Shelke was the same except I swapped Rufus and Aerith for Tyro and Relm. I had Cloud use his USB and Lion's Burst, so he could do attack/def breakdowns and DPS. Tifa kept using Lifesiphon and her USB to have constant hastagas to counter Shelke's dispells. Her Ultimate Low Thrust hurts bad even after all the breaks (then again I have no FF7 armor) but Relm's USB easily recovered from that.

I brought Barret (let the poor guy get some action for once) with his Pentabreak SSB to further mitigate it, because its damage was pretty insane. We're talking 3000AoE after Power Breakdown and Full Break (and irrelevant Wall+Protectga) here. And she loves spamming the hell out of it.

A recent 5* relic at +++ should be a few points higher than a 6* with synergy, but the difference isn't massive, especially once you add Rosetta Stones

I only have old swords at +++, so nowadays their attack should be 10-15 more. Here are some numbers from my game:
Platinum Sword 5+++ (no Rosettas) - 298 with synergy
Bartzcalibur 5+++ (full Rosettas) - 322 with synergy
Agrias Ragnarok 6* (no Rosettas) - 287 with synergy
Beatrix Ultima Sword 6* (full Rosettas) - 327 with synergy

As you can see, Bartzcalibur still loses to Ultima Blade, but Bartzcalibur is pretty old at this point. A modern 5+++ should get higher than my Ultima Blade, although obviously the newest 6*s are also slightly stronger than Ultima Blade. Still, I'd expect the 5+++ to have around 10 more Attack than a 6*, if both are fully augmented. This gap would increase to 25 without augments.

Yeah. Those bonus fights were really easy. Good X synergy helps, but especially the Magus Sisters were a joke. I ran a Summoner team with Yuna, Braska, Seymour, Rikku (for dances) and Paine (she needed the XP), and they were literally dead before Paine got her 4th turn. 9.999×2 (or ×3) on three targets, from three different characters, was just beautiful. I should totally have given Seymour the Doublecast RM for the potential to do 179,982 damage with one action.

The two Seymours got mitigated down to joke levels by Shellga, a Wall RW, and Mog with Heathen Frolic, Multi Break, and his old unique SB Heroic Harmony, while Ramza Shouted and Tidus (both) and Bartz (Omnis) / Beatrix (Natus) DPS'd the shit out of them.

Japan had an update to most 5* abilities, and there's so much awesomeness there. This is probably something people should be aware of, in order to have a better idea what orbs to farm for future honing.

Most abilities are improved to 4 hits. This includes all single target 5* Spellblades and all 5* Black Magics, except Meteor which is "only" 3 hits and Flare is 5 hits. This also includes most Spellblade-like abilities, like Thief or Shooter. 5* summons are all 3 hits now (Bahamut is 16.5/3, others are 15/3) and they gain an extra use, starting at 2 but ending at 6. Very few, if any, abilities remain at a single hit.

Significant increases in power are Barrage and Flare Strike going to 4×1. Flare should also be worth creating now, with 5 hits at 2.65 each. Many other abilities get a slight increase.

I finally beat that 3-character D300 Bahamut from hell.
This shit was seriously harder than Sephiroth and Nemesis combined. This is due to my III relics being a bunch of first generation SSBs and uniques. No Luneth BSB, no Onion BSB.

I settled for Onion with his physical SSB, Arc with both SSBs and Desch with his suicide Boostga. Cloud, being my only good en-wind BSB, was basically a must-have. I tried bringing Ramza as my second non-synergy character for Shout, but the Megaflares were killing me, so I had to bring Tyro for his SG. I honed a bunch of abilities I never thought I would need, 3* dived characters I might never use again, but it worked.

Here's what finally got the job done:
Cloud - Hailstorm r3, Omega Drive r2 - Cloud Cycle (Sword+30%)
Tyro - Haste r4, Mug Bloodlust r1 - Sentinel Grimoire (Auto-Haste & Atk+10%)
Desch - Mind Breakdown r4, Rallying Etude r4 - Selfless Spirit (Support damage +40%)
Onion Knight - Full Break r3, Armor Breakdown r4 - Onion Slice (Dagger+30%)
Arc - Curaja r5, Protectga r2 - Renewing Rains, Word of Kindness (Thunder God)
RW Cloud USB

Cloud's BSB after his USB was the only way I had of getting through the ridiculous Curaja spam. The rest of the team is built around supporting Cloud, by either boosting his Atk, lowering Bahamuts defense, and simply making sure I don't die. I thought Mind Breakdown wasn't worth it, but every little bit helps. That is 10k-20k less health to burn through. Same for Mug Bloodlust. It only lowers Bahamut's defense by 10%, but it helps.

I got to say, that Cloud USB RW is not the magical I-win-button that I seem to need for the 3-Man CM Bahamut.
I'm getting pretty close (like 40,000 ish left) , but 15 seconds is just so damn short.

I feel it might be doable, but my timing is off, and the fight is starting to really annoy me. 2-man would be easily doable (I did 1-man without Cloud USB), but having to choose between Wall and a Hastega is rough.

My current attempts are native Wall, with manual Haste and Desch Suicide Gauntlets as a Boostga. It's not going to be easy.

Cloud USB would be awesome, and Seph BSB would be cool, but the rest of the banner is completely underwhelming imo.
Cait relics are shit, Cloud BSB is a dupe, the 3 guns range from dupe to bad.
Zack Chain is ok, but requires too much setup to make it work, with lots of Wind BSBs, a crit-fixer, and a non-Shout Hastega being almost necessary to get the most of it.

Sephiroth killed in 55-ish seconds. I tried a "normal" team at first, but I got massacred so I went the Radiant Shield way.

Fang - Lifesiphon, Lightning Dive - Highwind SSB (Sword+30%)
Edge - Phantasm x2 - Eblan Doppelganger BSB (Mako Might)
Yshtola - Curaja, Protectga - Asylum BSB (Lionheart)
RW - Guardian Mog

I figured, since he loves his Dispels so much, I'd just leave Wall at home and debuff him instead, to get the same effect. With everyone in the back row, the damage actually wasn't too bad, other than his first Meteor+Hell's Gate where I needed the Last Stand, since Fang didn't have a SB gauge yet. It was hard getting Protectga back up after the dispels, so I simply didn't bother.

The BSB is pretty cool (I want to do Cloud USB followed by a fully powered attack for 1,000,000 damage at some point), but the SSB is the relic I wanted the least on this banner. I would have even preferred a dupe Shantotto BSB as a nice FFXI synergy armor.

Will try BFA, Bahamut and Sephiroth during phase 3 of orbfest.

I've been spending too much of this orb phase 2 catching up on the VI stuff, but I'm finally done.

The U++ CM was kinda annoying with his gimmick, but I have some quality mitigation in VI (Atk&Mag down on Setzer, ProShellga&Resx2 on Strago), so my lack of a Medica wasn't a problem at all. I took OK RW for some consistent NE damage.

Against A+, Celes Indoblade was seriously MVP. She drew so many single target Thundagas and spammed Twin Firestrike. Wall fell off because he didn't use enough AoE. So he killed my Maria with a 5000 damage jarring blow. As long as you're careful not to hit the goddess with anything non-holy, and keep your mitigation up, this isn't too bad.

Sarcasm aside, I think the 99.999 attacks are a pretty good clue that they are optional content, and that maybe you should stay away.

Alternatively, Auto Magic Lure and the major Lightning resist (which you probably want on someone regardless) also works very well against the Thundaga. I gave that combo to Tyro, and easily managed to survive until my Wall was up.

As someone with Larsa BSB, I can attest to the quality of that thing. It's absolutely amazing. I have a lot of healer BSBs, and his is, imo, the very best one available right now. So many bosses love status effects, and the Status Blink is a real godsend.
