While I enjoy HiDive's player and want to support alternatives to a Crunchy monopoly, I really wish the licensed show I most desperately cared about watching the moment it aired wasn't the only one on the platform that can't consistently get their episodes out on time.

I'm not sure what you're trying to compare that to specifically. You mean, like, Clone Wars? I don't think that show looks particularly good in any way. Nothing else really coming to mind besides kids shows.

It gets tough for me with 2D because there's so many way to look at it, again. Like, is it what you like to look at best? I think Baccano is an incredible looking anime aesthetically, but it's not exactly a technical powerhouse. Mushishi has absolutely gorgeous art but it's animation is nothing special. Ping Pong has incredible animation but I don't like how it looks at all. Last Exile had an incredible integration of CG so many years ago for a truly unique look. Eureka Seven has my favorite character designs....

.....I dunno I might also just say Flip Flappers lol.

I don't watch enough movies to judge that end.

Definitely still understand the preference! It's not like there's a ton of good looking 3D anime to choose from, yet.

We've come a long way from Arpeggio of Blue Steel being the best looking show in the category, though.

My one issue I've had so far is that there's been 1 or 2 scenes where the models don't cleanly blend in to the background as much as they should. It's was only REALLY noticeable in a single scene in today's episode, and even then it wasn't that bad. That's something where the color pallet of MyGO comes in handy, while the more natural color pallet of GBC makes it more difficult. Also the issue of background characters not looking as good as main characters, but I think that one is inevitable considering it's still an issue in 99% of 2D animation as it is.

But yeah I took like 30 screenshots of today's episode. I just....really like looking at it.

Look, visual preference is subjective, people are going to like different things, this is true for basically any aspect of any art form. Different aspects of animation and design matter to different people in different ways. If someone told me they didn't like how Girls Band Cry looks, I would completely understand! I wouldn't even really need an explanation, it's pretty obvious why someone might not like it.

That's all prelude to say that I, personally, have come to the conclusion that I think Girls Band Cry is the best looking anime ever made.

I have never before been so enthusiastic to just see animation on screen and how characters faces are going to look, how their body is going to move, what type of physical acting they're going to express. Maybe I shouldn't be too surprised that something clicked here, I have already loved the work of Orange for some time now, and the one thing that studio still has an "issue" with (it's intentional so it's not really an issue, it's just something that I am personally against) is the limiting of the animation frames of their work to keep it more visually in line with traditional animation. Girls Band Cry has said fuck that, and opted for a completely smooth animation style that just makes me melt. I truly cannot get enough of watching this. I would have absolutely no problem just watching it unsubbed on release if I didn't also care so much about that show itself on the whole.

This is going to look absolutely great in retrospect when I post my seasonal update tomorrow and casually refer to Demon Slayer as aftereffects slop in my Wind Breaker writeup, lol.

I continue to be fucking flabbergasted by how much Toei fumbled the ball not getting this out over here. Especially because even unlicensed I'm STILL regularly seeing GBC on several Top 10 weekly watchlist.

To be clear I was saying the current FU set IS good to farm for Topaz, it's just that the new one will be fine too. It's only the Planar where the new one is a huge priority for her and Clara.

And yes, the dot set in the current domain is BiS for every current DoT character.

New FU Relic set will be good with Topaz but 9/10 will be as good or slightly worse than the current FU set. Only scenario I can think of where it wouldn't be is some awful situation where Topaz uses a basic attack while her debuff isn't actively up, at which point you've got bigger skill point management problems than your relics.

New Planar is absolutely her BiS though. 24% FUDmg and CDmg after a single Skill use. Will have to build a little more CRate without Solsotto is the only downside.

Edit: Looking again, it's actually attacks not hits. Doesn't change anything really, though, even on her own Topaz will almost certainly max this out by the end of her second turn, faster if she's on a team with other FU characters like she should be.

He isn't wrong! Combined Xbox Series SKUs were outsold 5 to 1 by PS5 last quarter, compared to the average 2 to 1 overall since launch. If they did make CoD completely exclusive and still can't move numbers, the hardware is done for.

It appears Wuthering Waves is release next week, simultaneously on PS5? Not on the PlayStation Store yet, though.

I have a mild interest in this, have been intentionally ignoring any media about it prior to my initial discovery.

The release of this game needs to be studied.

It's going under the radar because the game is free and was already released once before, and obviously it's probably going to donwell no matter what, but over the last several weeks I have seen near Suicide Squad levels of anti-hype.

Hey I'll play it. I miss those tight 8 hour FPSes and CoD is the only one still doing them.

MW3 was less than 5 hours long including cutscenes, about 3 hours of that was gameplay.

Don't even joke, I think some of them couldn't even tell you how many continents there are.

At least with something like "What continent is Russia on" there's actual discussion to be had.

The most mind numbing revelation from all this is how many of these chuds legitimately did not know Egypt was in Africa.

To contrast, Nina is exactly the kind of protagonist I love to see in a show like this. She's extremely brash, even when she's not always right, can't always justify herself, willing to talk trash and goade her bandmates. I love her lol.

I like Kasumi quite a bit, but mainly from when she was not longer the main character. She's like a mascot.

From my Twitter feed I can see they did the song that I was most anticipating showing up in the show today, can't wait to watch tonight!

I don't know which of the two archive sites are better or easier to search but they should both have all of RWBY.

RWBY has it's own licensing, this it all being on Crunchy and being shipped around in its own separate from all the other RT stuff.

They had a season last year and they've been putting out crossover movies with the Justice League lol. SHAFT even put out an anime series AU a couple years ago.

I only got enough stickers to get the rewards, doesn't really seem to be any reason to get them all other than an achievement In assume. Already have all the Clockie stuff unlocked.

Realizing the dual meaning of the volume 4 intro's full version both in and out of the narrative is pretty devestating.

Theoretically the new one will go further, so you may want to stick with that for consistency. Supposedly there was an arc in the original anime at some point that was significantly altered from the LN, too, which would almost certainly not be the case here.

Other than that, from what everyone has told me they've been basically identical other than the new character designs (well, old they're the VN designs now) and music, right down to the pacing.

This is how I felt last year, extreme annoyance to so much of the internet saying it was terrible and fell off to the point where I just let it stew, then retroactively realizing these people never watched past volume 3 and were just parroting a HBomberGuy video they watched.

They've been working on migrating stuff to YouTube.

Of course in RWBY's case it's also on Crunchyroll.

I think a good way to look at it for Himeko is that Break is way easier to build than Crit, so if you don't have her Crit pieces ready yet then Break is a good placeholder. This is true for just about any old Fire and Physical DPS.

Prior to 2.0 the only character I actively focus Break on above anything else is Guinaifen, since fire break is good and fire DoT sucks (this is not the case for Luka since he has entirely different scaling and still wants mostly attack)

At least that's my understanding lol.

My favorite part of Endwalker is the part where you walk at the end.

Oh HMC is definitely good in general (it's funny they add easy path swapping at the same time they add the objectively best version by a huge margin lol), but if it's not a BE Team then there's just usually better limited 5* options.

However, not everyone is gonna be pulling for/have all those other supports!

It was in a slump for a bit there for sure, but yeah it's in a major upswing. Importantly, for very different reasons than Part 1.

Part 1 and Part 2 are such completely different beasts.
