As far as Elena and Chloe, I think it was pretty clear Nate had some feelings for Elena. I don't think it was abrupt. Sully mentioned it in UC1, Drake asks Chloe if she thinks Elena and CAMERAMAN JEFF are a couple when they met up with them in UC2. There's some prior history with Chloe that they don't bother going into, and they never touch on what happened with Elena in between the games. You could have replaced Chloe with any other character close to Drake and he would have gone to the same lengths that he did to rescue her, though. He's just that kind of character.

Played some more Brotherhood. Did the Leonardo machines missions. The tank was pretty awesome, and the machine gun was cool, too.
But man, the flying bomber and the cannon, what terrible missions. Those were some of the most awful controls I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing.

Beat Outland. I was not impressed with the final boss. I'm kinda bummed that I ended a game I really really loved on a down-note, what with realizing I couldn't get the last money vase and the final boss being a let-down. 98% of the game was still A+ though. And I still need to do co-op/arcade.

Finished the last Romulus Lair and got the special treasure for doing so. I think the Assassin Tombs in AC2 were better because the ones in Brotherhood seemed to focus more on chases and fighting than platforming and climbing like the ones in AC2 did, but these were still fun.
I guess about the only thing left for me to do is to find these Subject 16 things.

started playing dq6. I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would.
- game starts out surprisingly story-heavy - it's kinda weird with no real party members. there's this assumed character that you take on that's not really communicated to you very well. - light/dark world zone - I hate how you can't use the touch screen to advance text. I do that in most of my DS RPGs. - battles are so very fast compared to the slogfests that are dq8 and dq9. none of this wasted time with animations.
DQ6 does start out pretty strong and I love the way you advance through both world maps. However once the class system gets introduced around 10-12 hours in the game it really slows down and I ended up getting fatigued while playing it. Still a great game, but to me it's the weakest of the Zenithian trilogy
it's weird. I don't really consider myself a big DQ fan but this is probably my 13th DQ game or so. 1-9, DQM1-4 (with 5 on the way), Rocket Slime. 5 of those games probably crack my top 100, too.
well I'm a huge DQ fan and you've played more than me! I haven't played Dragon Warrior VII yet (only played an hour of the copy I own. Sort of holding out for a PSN version or 3DS remake), then Dragon Quest Swords, Dragon Quest Wars, Rocket Slime and Joker
so 12 there.
If you include that I've played the original versions as well as the remakes of 1-6 well then I guess it goes up to 17 total.
I like the look of the DS version over the SNES original. The upgraded visuals of the SNES version from DQV made it lose that charm that DQ games have and as a result it just felt like generic SNES RPG #47. I think the DS version helped reclaim some of that lost charm
7 should be right up your alley. you seem to love games that require a mind-numbing amount of time investment! dq7 really can be cool if you embrace its strengths.
"Q: Do you have plans to release titles that were once popular? A: Wada noted that the new Tomb Raider does not have a number attached to it. This is because Square Enix is looking into reviving a number of titles. They're always investigating how to "reboot" past titles.
Q: Are there plans to release a new Mana game? A: Wada said that Square Enix will be doing ports of Mana and Saga titles, but there are no plans at present to release a completely new entries/series.
Q: Are there plans on making a real life casino like the casino in Dragon Quest (I told you some of the questions were silly!) A: Square Enix is releasing games like Battle Road in arcades, but there are no plans for an actual casino.
Q: How much did Square Enix lose due to PSN's downtime? Will you seek compensation from Sony? A: PSN-related earnings losses were in the hundreds of millions of yen, but specifics are not clear at present. While they expect consultations with Sony, they don't expect something like compensation.
Q: Front Mission's reviews were terrible A: Wada replied that he sees all the reviews at Amazon and in magazines. He believes they should have worked harder on the game.
Q: How will Square Enix use social networks for promotions to reach fans? A: Square Enix feels that it has at last gotten the hang of producing games for social networks. It hopes to release its IP content on social networks from this year."

Wow, burn.

My Japanese alter-ego. Hey all this is Bartz btw.
As someone who likes Secret of Mana but absolutely loves Seiken Densetsu 3 and is really frustrated with people who haven't played it saying it can't possibly be better than the original, I hope so too!

Tried the Sonic Generations demo - pretty good. This might be the first notable Sonic game in a long time, one that catches the attention of more than just the few remaining fans who buy whatever new game comes out. The PS3 version was a bit choppy, which I'm hoping is due to it being a demo and not because they're not optimizing it. Otherwise, good stuff. Demo was only Green Hill Zone, but the physics felt good and jumping was great.

Green Hill Zone can be bad if the physics are bad! I actually thought the platforming was solid, I didn't mind 'slowing down' because it didn't totally kill the pace and movement. Sonic still has some agility when he's not full run, which is a nice improvement over the old games where he would turn into molasses at a stop.

"If you just paid attention to the marketing for Child of Eden, you'd think it was an Xbox 360 exclusive. But there's totally a PS3 version coming out in September. According to Q? Entertainment producer James Mielke, the delay had nothing to do with Microsoft moneyhats, and everything to do with the fact that Q? is making each version on its own, with a staff of about 30 people."
"We're doing everything in-house, we're not farming anything out," he told the 8-4 Play podcast. Mielke didn't outright confirm any special features in the PS3 version, but said "it will definitely be worth the couple months that people have to wait for the PS3 version to get finished. People with PS3s, people with nice TVs, people with all kinds of control options... it's going to be really cool."
