One of HeroicGammaRay’s least favorite songs ever and I can sorta see why. The samples are supposed to be HARSH but I guess I don’t mind them too much.

I honestly think the bigger problem (applies to most of the Shatter OST ) is that the songs go on a bit too long for my liking. The BEATZ are pretty cool though.

427.lastendconductor (Umineko no Naku Koro ni 8: Twilight of the Golden Witch)

As of now, my least favorite ‘big’ zts track. Though for a lot of the bigger fans it’s in many people’s top 3-5 Umineko songs for some reason.

It’s still decent overall, however my biggest gripe like a lot of songs in this ‘decent but nothing special’ batch is that it’s TOO LONG. Like I mean the usual zts beatz are cool and all but unlike a lot of his big PIECES he doesn’t really put a lot of melody stuff in here and it just seems like the song kinda just goes and on and on.

I guess it’s sort of a compilation song of other zts songs, like I can hear a little of worldenddominator towards the beginning of the loop and a little bit of dreamenddischarger towards the end of the loop but I can’t really hear anything else since the majority of the song is kinda just ‘meandering’.

Anyway I don’t think this chiptune is THAT great but its kinda catchy.

Although I don’t like Shiki Ryougi nearly as much as others I always thought her fight theme in the movies was kinda neat.

NioraptH’s favorite Legendia oh god time for her to cream and then yell at me for it being too low.

Any way this pretty catchy song has a lot of Go Shiina favorite stuff with the violin and all those funky instruments.

They’re a little shrill but it doesn’t bother me TOO MUCH to ruin me enjoying this song.


411.Main Theme (Secret of Monkey Island)

The kinda inferior Monkey Island theme that has been nominated.

Anyway this song is pretty cool, I get that feeling of wanting to SET SAIL. Though that second half of the song feels really out of place with the rest of the song.

I nominated this, but now I don’t like it as much but whatevs.

Anyway, I’m really glad Clannad’s VN OST was used in the anime. While overall the OST is just ‘ok’ at best, Clannad has a bunch of good emotional songs like this and it’s one of the things l appreciate about watching Clannad. Sure this song isn’t the best Clannad has to offer but it’s still one of the good ones.

When a game gets a lot of songs nominated and all of them are at least decent that says wonders about how great a soundtrack is.


Anyway this is pretty decent overall albeit a bit short.

I used to not like this song much but after listening to it again I actually think it’s kinda decent despite being kinda repetitive.

I think the beat and guitar work well.

The second half of the song is a bit better than the first half

For a while I used to not like this song AT ALL. I think the main turn off is that the first whole minute kinda does nothing.

After repeated listens I got it used it, and the rest of the song’s melody was interesting enough for me to finally like listening to the song in full often.

If I were to change one thing about FF6, I would want this to be the world map theme for the whole game instead of the boring Terra theme and the even more boring theme that plays when the World of Ruin starts.


Wow. We almost can't be further apart on this. I don't think "Searching For Friends" is boring by any measure but I feel like it isn't nearly as good as either "Terra" or "One Year After" and I've always wanted "One Year After" to continually play whenever you get out of the Falcon in the World of Ruin. It's just so damn mood-setting.

But that said, I actually don’t mind the ‘harshnesss’ since I think the song is a bit catchy now.

A cool title that’s kinda atmospheric like a lot of the songs in this game. Neat stuff.

Oooooooooohh so this is where Firebrand comes from. He looks pretty interesting in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Anyway this song… is pretty sad… although a little repetitive.

A cool song that gets you PUMPED UP. Also I recently watched a boxing anime called “Hajime no Ippo” (great stuff by the way) and listened to this song more often when I was watching it.

Just like Still more Fighting this song in every where I see it uploaded and in every mp3 ive tried getting has an annoying TICK at :10.

A pretty catchy song, not one I would support for the ToC though.

My opinion of miragecoordinator has been all over the place. When I first listened to it in VGMC3 I thought it was kinda cool. Then I listened to it again and didn’t like it for a while. The cycle kept repeating for a little but now I consistently just kinda like it. Not one of zts’ best but still has some cool stuff in it.

The sound seems to match the in-game midi and the midi on ZUN's music page respectively.

I recorded my version in-game so uh I'm pretty sure it's more accurate than any others >_>

Quite a fan favorite, and one I’ve always liked but never loved.

I think the percussion really makes the song though the catchy melody is cool as well.

From I’ve herad I really like the style of Ar Tonelico II songs. Upbeat catchy and nice instrumentation.

While Mechanical Maze is my least favorite AT2 song that’s been in a contest, it’s still one I still find fun to listen to.

One of the few MGS vocal songs I actually like.

This song is simpler than the similar Heaven’s Divide but I feel like it as a better melody and is just paced really well and has better instrumentation.

And of course the singer is good.


314.The Capital City of Flowers in the Sky (Touhou: Perfect Cherry Blossom)

One of the first songs on this list that’s quite long but I still like it all the way through.

This Touhou song has good stuff: a somewhat wistful melody, decent percussion, and a cool melody.

Whistling done right in a song can make it quite cool, and this is a pretty decent example of one.

A song from Chrono Trigger I’ve always liked.

It really captures the feeling of being in a mystical mysterious OTHER WORLD.

A pretty upbeat Touhou song with nice piano and whatever that other instrument is used for most of the song is.

So is this a really good quality version of the in-game version or is it an updated song/remix?

I'll say I don't really understand MIDI quality at all. I'm just posting it cause the drums are nice and one particular part actually sounds "fixed".

I know. Your upload sounds exactly like it. I had confirmed that back then.
When I say the tracks match, I'm observing the beginning beat's pitch, not that they're accurate. The one from the music page has it higher. Sorry for being misleading.
