Not sure what to make of that ending, really. I think I like it. They needed to do SOMETHING big after last night, having Punk show up so soon would be hard to do right, firing Cena or altering the punishment would feel cheap. There were a ton of sub-par options I was expecting and they came up with a hell of a swerve I would never have seen coming.

The whole "fire the biggest star if he loses a match that's far from in the bag, and get involved to try to screw it up" thing is kind of a big deal. Plus Vince is the entire reason Punk wanted to leave in the first place when you think about it; for the "board of directors" the business decisions Vince has made over the past few years have led to him creating a new "hottest commodity" in pro wrestling for some other company to have.

They could argue that Vince's attempt at a Chicago Screwjob would be worse for the company than Punk leaving with the belt, as well as arguing that the attempt directly led to Cena losing. Hell I immediately blamed Vince for essentially costing Cena the match, not that I'm complaining because CM PUNK

I hope they realize that this angle should not be isolated onto Raw.

It made sense for Punk's stuff to be, but whatever changes are enacted due to Triple H's rule should effect all brands.

They could have an issue for Vince letting Cena/Punk even happen at summerslam. Why even put the company in that position? I think that is where, in kayfabe, the no confidence thing comes from.

EDIT: And as others have said, you can interpret it another way too. It makes sense though.

I can understand the lack of faith in Vince better now.

Someone must have convinced Vince that the best way to keep everyone guessing and build a new fanbase would be to shred down nearly all pretext. They've never taken this approach (to this extent anyway). Something or someone had to be a tipping point to jumpstart this (don't bring up Zack Ryder, for once).
